  2. There are 2 days left... today and tomorrow!
  3. No, it's ok, i think i want the talk to stay here in this thread.
  4. Well, the discussion is interesting. I was hoping to see more top5's than debate though.
  5. I don't create competition. I just do some calculations. I don't tell you what to do, what you should do, or how you should be. Read my post again, objectively. I accept your opinnion even if i disaggree, but i have nothing more to add, i've made my point and it stands. Sorry. I'd like to tell you just this: PSYNEWS is not the whole psychedelic culture and scene, PSYNEWS is basically a website. Websites contain information. Oh, the "i'm an economist" thing was not an excuse, it was said on a humorous note. I'm quite proud of my profession. If you check the results of the "Best of 2005" exercise, you will see that the chart has 2 columns of numbers: one is with SCORE (the sum of the 1,2,3,4,5 points resulted from the top5's), and 1 with VOTES (1 mention means 1 vote). I did it both ways, and i intent to keep both systems this year as well.
  6. Yeah, yeah I forgot i told you about her already...!
  7. Nice I should introduce you to my artist friend in Switzerland, you'd find her intersting for sure.
  8. The stats say that I haven't been on IRC in 4 months. Wow
  9. Topic has been moderated, 17 off topic posts have been deleted. Please stick to reviewing the album.

    Why?

I remember being in a festival, dancing, drinking. I stopped to chat to somebody when a Benefactor track got played. I was like WOW, first familiar track in this party. And stopped chatting and went to dance. It was perfect. Then last summer, at Ozora, i was laying in the grass, listening to a DJ spinning prog trance. At some point, she put a Tegma track, from the "Around the world in 80 mins" album. It didn't seem to fit with the previous track, and ruined the flow for me. But the Tegma track is good, i like the whole album. Then Peter Didjital spinned and at some point he put Zen Mechanics - Environmental Porn, and i stopped dancing cause something was bugging me: I know this track but who's track is it? The name was sitting on the tip of my tongue, but couldn't quite say it. It was a bit annoying for a few seconds. It's a bit tricky.
  11. My opinnion on this issue. It's very simple. Jikkenteki and Colin OOOD's presence on this forum means more votes for them simply because of 3 (or maybe more) reasons: 1. Their music is probably good. 2. They have the chance of freely promoting their music here, nobody is stopping them. There are many cases of artists promoting their music here, offering live mixes for us to download, etc. 3. Artists interracting with listeners online means nothing but publicity for the artist, generally good publicity, especially when the artist is an interesting and honest person and he/she can get the forum members' attention and positive reactions, even in music listening, if it's good.
  12. Sadly, i can't sleep if i hear something. Meaning it has to be quiet for me to be able to fall asleep.
  13. Mike, VoC is from 2005, we had it in our chart last time.
  14. No, I'm pretty sure I've pissed off some people. In my defence, I'd like to say that in real life i'm an economist.
  15. It's always sweet when people have feelings and a heart, and they find "freedom, pleasure, meaning" in music and in the "psychedelic culture", and nothing else matters except "tripping as 1" and living in a pink world. I'd like to tell you though that also many people listen to psytrance because they like the music, the melodic idea/line, the effects, the samples, the "chemistry", and it's unfair to unapprove people that don't feel the "spirituality" the way you do. But nevermind this, it's not the point. We have a brain also for thinking, not just for tripping. Some people find it stimulating to see how the scene evolves, which are the best rated artists on various sites. Some people like to see which subgenres dominate the charts (maybe even the scene) every year, and which labels do well in their activities. Some people like to get recommendations on what to listen/buy by using our tops (i know people that used the 2006 tops to buy CDs and thanked us). Some people like to EXPRESS what are good releases in their opinnion, and they like to see if their tastes in music are shared by others as well. If we go by your "spiritual" mentality, then we shouldn't have REVIEWS either? Just like charts, reviews have the purpose of putting up or down a release, and it may even influence the number of its sales and the number of listeners. Psychedelic scene may be an underground scene, but it is still a scene, and a big one may i add. This means there is TRADE, we trade products and services for money. We buy releases, tickets to parties, artists, labels, organisers offer us music, gigs, shows. These are all involving MONEY, and that cannot be denied. The basic rules of the psychedelic trance scene are the same as the ones of any commercial scene. No money means no psychedelic scene. My conclusion is that there is more to the existence of a scene (commercial or non-commercial) than just spirituality and tripping, and going to Goa to party. I don't see how a "BEST OF 2007" thread can ... let me quote you... "create difference, and instead of uniting people in 1 trip, it divides them in useless / non tripping debats". If you wanna get high on drugs and trip on psychedelic trance, nobody is stopping you. Nobody is trying to make you buy more, or less, or influence you in your musical taste. This chart is purely just an exercise, a conclusion of our members' activity in 2006. We mean no harm, no stress for anyone, we don't force people to post in this thread. Do you have to be so exclusivist? There is enough room for both brain and heart on this forum, and we're trying to make everyone happy here. Thanks for your support.
  16. Well, 1st February 2007 - closing of voting Around 15th February - results Sadly, this year we don't have so many participants. Maybe i'm wrong though. I hope so! There's still 9 days left!
  17. Oh god. Cinos, you're hopeless. How about this? An adult with the intelligence of a baby (Down syndrome) is normal for a person that suffers of Down syndrome. Your warning stands strongly.
  18. lol

    moni, you are hot B)!

  19. For now I can suppose that they are still reviewing/listening CDs, until 1st of February.
  20. To be honest I expected as much from Colin as he regularly beats up women, sometimes using a spatula. As for you, reger, fuck off out of this profile you sukre!

  21. hello moni :)!

and charlie, get the hell out of here!

  22. The thread got locked... I guess too many indians were posting in that thread?
  23. No, it means "I hate you". Uri is the romanian verb for hate, and urasc the first person conjugation. thus "te urasc" --> I hate you. Not very nice Mr. OOOD...

  24. Lovely Agia! I got your point, TOOL is your favourite band for 2006. Noted. Trance and rock are 2 different music genres though. Please post your TOP5 according to the instructions i gave in the beginning of this thread...! Dear Agia...
