  1. There is also a bilogical part of trance

Trance states also has something to do with bpm

here is the quote that I ve also used in my ma

“ The issue of tempo is an interesting  one considering the possible relationship between the musical tempo and human brain physiology. The frequency alpha waves in the brain, critical in inducing trance states in humans, lies approximately between 8 and 12 cycles per second, and varies from one person to another. Many traditional trance-inducing music of the world contain rhythmic elements which mirror these rates. Typically performances start at the lower level and increase over a period of hours towards a higher level. The gradual increase in frequency allows for the variation in different human alpha wave frequencies. In Goa Trance there is a constant stream of 16th notes which when played at a suggested average of 144 bpm yields a flow of musical events at an average of 9.6 cps. This situation parallels of traditional trance music”

Very interesting El Brujo. I suspected that alpha waves were dominant during trance states, along maybe with theta waves, but i never really delved into the subject. Maybe i should now (or perhaps after i finish my exams). Do you know any relative websites maybe?

  2. The thing that i respect about Simon is that during the years he kept doing what he thought was good, instead of following trends (minimal/full on).

As for his music, he has produced many mediocre stuff, but also many excellent ones both in the past (btw, does anybody remembers his tracks under the coop infernal machine?) and the present. His most reacent achievement for me (having not heard the new Shpongle) is the Younger Brother album. Excellent stuff.

  3. Juno Reactor did music for the terrible B-movie called Beowulf.

Hey, it's one of my favourite b-movies. Maybe i like it because it's so bad, i don't know, although it's cool to hear those juno reactor tracks in the movie.

Btw, Juno Reactor - High Energy Protons was played at an episode of the series "LA Femme Nikita"

  5. I understand what you say moni and i agree to some extent.

    But answer me this,

Do you like the fact that for the past three years or more, every single artist in our scene, even the most creative minds of the past (with some exceptions ofcourse), use the same formula to make their tracks (i use the term formula, because talking about basslines narrows down the meaning) ?

  6. it may not be a direct answer to ure question but it explains why in spite of the bassline ppl love it.

moreover, not all fullon has the same bassline, u just have to dig hard to find quality fullon

I don't think that her answer explains anything.

I asked if you think that having the same bassline is a good thing and why.

And if you think full on doesn't have the same bassline, than thats another subject and we should make a new topic about it.

  7. I respect IM for all their previous work, they are good musicians and very uniqye. The fact that i respect them doesn't mean i can't say that their current work is bad (basically i think it's shit :D , but i'm being polite).

  8. If they like what they're making i dont see why stop. Music is not made to fulfill listener needs, but only the musician's spiritual needs. Theres always something that a listener will like. But if a musician dont like his own stuff, he's doomed to suck.

I strongly disagree. Music is not made to fullfill listeners needs ? Sorry, but if someone wanted to make music only for himself than he wouldn't release it to the public. And if music wasn't made for me, i surely wouldn't spend my time and money on it.

Music is a two way path. It is made by the artist for the people, a process were they both have something to gain.

  9. In this compil the Lish remix of Wizzy Noise sounds very good. The Astral Projection track sounds full on but at least you recognize theis sound and their energy. All the other tracks are typical full on, they sound the same.

    It doesn't worth it.
