  1. Hello everyone. For a few years now, a couple of very courageous members compiled your best-of selections every year and it was quite a pain. I made apromise months ago to lift that burden and make the process easier for everyone. That was quite a challenge, but I finished coding and testing it this morning. It's rough but good enough for us and there is space for improvmeent in the following years. It's finally online since this morning: http://www.psynews.org:2010/bestof/ Sorry it's on an exotic port, but it was impossible to make it work on the default http port with the other apps on that server. It will probably not respond from your workplace if there's a proxy/firewall, but it will work from your home. Please PM or write me if you encounter any bugs. The same goes if you want me to add some missing release (format: title [label] + release month if available) Feedback on the application experience is appreciated too. Thanks for your patience. mars / psynews
  2. We definitely have to organize a best-of session for both 2009 and the decade ! As promised I programmed something...It's coming up soon
  3. HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE !! And may Psynews still live long. Your support in unvaluable...and in 2 weeks from nowwe have a very special celebration coming up
  4. I was about to say the same.
  5. OK dude, look. 1) No need to use red/bold and use such a strong language in your title. I adapted that. Were reponsible of the content posted here towards the French law you know. 2) Isratrance related topic: http://forum.isratrance.com/where-is-frozen-ghost-return-the-money-you-stole/page3/ 3) That's true there are lots of unreliable artists (and even more unreliable promoters) out there. We all have stories to tell, most are related to drugs and/or money. Whether we choose to disclose them or not is everyone's responsibility. 4) As Elysium said, you better have some grounding cause maybe the guy is really badly sick!! But maybe what you're trying to do is warn other promoters. Ok you did it. Now, despite all your frustration, which we can understand, you didn't have the right to insult anyone, neither to spam the board. I just cleaned up the mess. And you're banned. But I'm letting the topic open, unless it gets out of control. 5) The way the story is presented, the medical thing looks like an excuse for withdrawing. But I'm interested in knowing both sides of the story. So Frozen Ghost and his manager are kindly invited here to express their view in a polite manner. Not doing so would just tend to confirm Transgenic story, right? Transgenic, puedes me escribir sobre mars@psynews.org si lo quieres. No intento a ahogar la discusion pero pienso que no lo haces de la mejor mañera. Aqui es una plaza publica y tenemos que prestarle atencion.
  6. There are. I took ALL releases, CD or Web. I just saw this: http://www.psynews.org/forums/index.php?/topic/57876-top-10-albums-of-the-00s/ And it makes me think we should definitely organize a best-of for the last 10 years on top of the 2009 best-of. It's a lot more work for me to find and put in the database all the releases for 10 years (don't ask how I4ll do that), so we won't be able to vote right away, but I could launch it during January. Does that soound like a good idea?
  7. moved to music promotion
  8. Ok I'm finished...almost. I'm testing all I coded now. I'll run a small betatesting soon. It's lookin good for a launch in the next days, probably this week end.
  9. Sulima or Manifold may sound like what you want.
  10. Anything to say about psytrance, Mr. al3xandar ?
  11. As I imported all this year's releases in my test database I can tell you more or less 750 releases were out this year, taking up and downtempo into account. That's much more than I thought, but 10 votes will at least allow people to vote for the 1% they prefer. Also I wanna make it clear that people will be able to vote for up to 10 releases. If they want to limit to 3 or 5, fine by me.
  12. I second that. I made something not very flexible, based on previous years, but fortunately for you there is such an option I could configure. So that will be 10 choices
  13. I wanted to say I'm taking profit of my sickness leave to work on a more automated system (as promised) for this year's best of. No more excel spreadsheet, how sweet I'm soon finished, and will invite you for beta testing before the eve.
  14. Yes only FLAc for the moment? FLAC is == WAV quality, so good for collectors. But I can put some high quality mp3s up if you want.
  15. I think that's a track by Alvanti vs Mantra. And that's on an unofficial compilaiton called "VA - The Sound of PsyMex". There is a Madonna remix track on it also, but ot the one you're mentioning.
  16. Well, This Filteria volume is 50% unreleased but not so new music, and 50% extensive remixes of known tracks. Releasing a CD is a lot of work, and kinda freezes our catalog for at least one month. With the digital format we can put all tracks online in a couple of hours. And dedicate more time to other freser releases. Also, I don't think it would be convenient to release it on CD after Daze of Our Lives, many wouldn't understand, and worse, many would complain that we're trying to "monetize" Filteria. No thanks. This is really a gift for fans and collectors, for a fair price, and for a good cause. That said, if a service existed to press like 50-100 cds for a nice price, I swear we'd use it.
  17. I see a dozen orders with paypal in the last 2 days, it should work for you. If you have a strange bug though, please rpeort it to me.
  18. I had never heard the term itself, but I heard the album. Yeah that's kind of darker, complicated, relentless psytrance. It's more on the fullon side but with dark accents. Others did that before: Abomination, Wizack Twizack, Sulima, Manifold...
  19. Great news!!! And I have to say BlackStarrFinale really deserved to be released.
  20. In spring 2007, we had announced an unofficial Filteria album in digital format only containing remixes and unreleased material. At the time we believed we would soon be distributed digitally, but that didn't happen. And we didn't have our online shop then. So this album never saw the daylight… Until now, right on time for Christmas! These tracks are approximately from 2006 and are close to the Heliopolis/Sky Input era both in style and sound/production wise. Worth mentioning is that most of these remixes were made for the summer party season. Filteria has selected his favorite versions of the remixes. Here's the tracklist of "Remixes & Unreleaseds" 1. Operation Mind Expansion 2. Latch 3. Poem 4. Speech Module (Filteria Remix) 5. Rotate To Vibrate (Ze Remix) 6. Unfiltred (Sun Remix) 7. Reflected (Blinded Remix) 8. Total Planetary Being (Filteria Remix) 9. K.O.B. – Multiple Disorder (Filteria Remix) 10. K.O.B. – Weight Of Oblivion (Filteria Ambient Remix) In total, more than 90 minutes of madness Samples and more here
  21. Please give us more infos about your thesis, like an official documeent or something, and people will be more likely to answer. From my admin console, I could only see that you're from India, that's not much. Rave is a word that's not much used anymore you know... Now your answers: 1) French, 32 2) I was 19, that was in Bordeaux, France 3) When I like the music, I feel Transported by it. If I don't likee the music, I feel like taking a nap 4) There's no short answer. Yeah imo some are spiritual. Because the story they tell please you, and you feel like you're part of its flow. But you don't need a party for that, a concert with some music you really enjoy will do that too. 5) Music alone is enough. Drugs might improve the good feelings, but might also make bad feelings even worse. My best memories are without drugs. You are uplifted by the music and at the same time aware of everything that's happening, you have nothing to fear and you're in control. 6) I strongly support it at my level. Now, it's an utopia to believe there can be a totally drug free party for all the attendance. Some people just want to be high when going out, and you can't read that on their face at the entrance. 7) Sure. "simply for the love of the music and the vibe"
  22. Amongst the living: Ultimae (almost all) Suntrip (all) Iono (most) Twisted Records Aleph Zero Cosmic Leaf (all) Timecode Nexus Media Else, from the good old days: BlueRoom Flying Rhino Spirit Zone Phonokol HomMega
  23. Etnica Pleiadians Crop Circles but you may already know that...
  24. I had the impression described here, the first time I listened to the album. These were (the controversial leaked) mp3s, and using my earplugs. But if I listen to the real CD now, on my Cambridge/Jamo sound system, it's neat! Besides, I agree many other masterings are super bad with the bass and compression drowning you to oblivion.
