Hello psynuts
ive just started out using this forum and am hoping you all had a wonderful & safe time over NYE
i just got back from a house party (no psy unfortunately) and had one o those moments where im lazing in the chill room talkin to someone about the psytrance scene around the world.
when i realized, 'This guy didnt have a clue what i was talking about' - but he acted as if he did - and i admired his astuteness well,
It seems the psytrance scene is so underground that noone in their right mind could even conceptualize its existence, well, at this party anyway!
he thought i was making it all up and that it was rubbish.
The easiest way to make him understand where i was coming from was to compare the psyscene with the sixties hippy culture. was i wrong to do this?
my reasons are listed below;
alot of flouro - yep
alot of trippy music - yep
alot of drugs - yep
alack of sleep - yep
alack of reality - yep
alot of love - indeed
After making these comparisons we mulled the issue of psytrance over a couple of ales and it was then, he quoted a scene from 'fear & loathing in las vegas' by terry gilliam- where dr gonzo talks of the entire scene being lied to by the use of LSD - which eventually lead to the demise of an entire culture.
I THIS THE SAME WITH THE PSYSCENE? IS IT DISAPPEARING UP ITS OWN ARSE?
Are we turning out to become a bunch of "permanent cripples"?
(Am i ever going to get over this comedown?)
views please!
