  1. Message from God (MFG) - New Kind of World.
  2. I ordered Ultimate Experience from eBay and got it today. Having listened through it once, I can say that I thought it was alright but not thrilling. The tracks I liked the most were the ones I have heard before, "Dominion" and "Master of the Universe". You who have this CD, what are your opinions of it? Did it take time to grow on you? Perhaps I will like it more after a few listens........ I had expected it to be a real "classic" that I would like instantly though.
  3. I'm thinking about going to some music festival in Sweden this summer. Where do you think I will be most likely to find psytrance/ambient artists? My friends tell me Arvika can have a few such artists. Travelling abroad is out of the question, I just want to know if I can go and see any psytrance act here in Sweden.

    MFG

The first MFG track I heard was "Overload" on Destination Goa 3. At the first listen, I didn't like it. Then when I listened to it for the second time, I suddenly discovered that it was great! Then I listened to their whole album "The Prophecy" where I first started to moderately like a few songs. Then these songs eventually grew on me as well. Then I discovered the rest of that album's songs and at last, I found all of the songs to be great. Then I discovered Project Genesis the same way, then New Kind of World and now - The Message, which I at the first listen found very boring and very dissapointing for being MFG. I get the feeling that almost every of their track is "their best" - it is like there are 30 "best MFG track"'s. I guess this is because each of their songs has such a unique feeling to them. Still, you can always recognize a specific, common touch to each of their album and another kind of specific, common touch that makes all of their albums, and all of their tracks on compilations MFG. Each track is unique, each album is unique, but still all is MFG! I just want to say that the work by Aharon Shegal & Guy Zukrel is amazing, and as long as there are unheard MFG tracks, I know I am going to enjoy them someday!
  5. Yeah I have checked other sites but I would like to hear the opinions other people have on his music.
  6. First of all, I sometimes hear Musmilgauze's music being classified as ambient. Was his music ambient? Then, does anyone know how he could release so much??? He seems to have hundereds of releases over the years. Do you know what gear he made his music with? Do you think his work sounds a lot similar or does it really differ with so many releases?
  7. I have this track named "Angel Jonathan" both under Yahel and IM on different releases? The track is the same, is it by Yahel or is it by IM?
  8. Anyone who can give me some recommendations on more 'loungy' chill and more 'fat and dirty urban chill'? Those two sound interesting....

    Cheezy...

I think all of their albums are great as well as their their tracks on compilations and EP's. The Prophecy, New kind of World and Project Genesis are very, very, very good while The Message is not quite as good but still really good. Perhaps I will grow into The Message later on. I can still understand people calling MFG cheezy though, and I would have to say New Kind of World would be their cheeziest album. But I don't think they are very cheezy after all. They are my favourite goa/trance group anyway.
  10. Perhaps MFG?.........."We are the Machines" to the end of it? No? "Why?" to the end of it? .........Or perhaps "Hypnotized".

    Cheezy...

Some people seem to call New Kind of World with MFG cheezy........but I just love those twisting, melodic samples with their calls and responses! Cheezy or not, MFG are great!!!!!!
  12. Can you tell us what equipment you used to produce the track with?

    infected

"Angel Jonathan", "Classical Mushroom" (the track) and "Nothing Comes Easy"!!!!!
  14. I've thought about this and I think that the word "has" actually derives from "haves". Think about it, all verbs in third person singular in English are the infinitive with an "s" at the end of it. Infinitve here is "have", so the logical way to write "have" in third person is "haves". It is just that "have" is such a common word that "haves" has been abbreviated to "has".
  15. I respect your point of view Zebedee Gherkin as I was the one who started that topic about Hallucinogen. I can say I like AP very much and they're in my top 6-7 of psytrance groups. The reason is that I find most of their songs to have a nice feeling to them. They have nice melodies that float through the tracks which usually peak to the end of the songs, releasing the full energy of the track. I never find that in Hallucinogen. I find Hallucinogen to just be very detailed with some fast psychedelic swifitng but it just goes on and on in my opinion, such as in Snakey Shaker. That's the reason why I like AP but don't fancy Hallucinogen so much.
  16. MFG has been my favourite goa/psytrance act until this day. All of those 4 tracks are so nice except When We Dream in my opinion which I actually find rather mediocre. It's a hard choice, Overload was the track that got me into goa/psytrance, yet I played Magnetic Activity over and over on my mp3 player during my vacation to Poland this summer........and yet New Kind of World is just so innovative and nice. Such a hard choice, but it has to be New Kind of World because it's a more varying track than the other two. Overload and Magnetic Activity are so typically MFG, just waiting and waiting for that wonderful melody to break out! MFG 4-ever!! Aharon Segal & Guy Zukrel, hope you come back with a new album some day!!
  17. In the goa/psytrance scene, I think Hallucinogen seems to be widely acknowledged as the best or one of the best artists. I want to know why this is the case. Personally, I only find most of the Hallucinogen tracks to be "okay" but not at all among the best goa/psytrance I have heard. I do notice however that his tracks seem very detailed and perhaps that's a possible explanation to why many people consider him so good. Do most people who think Hallucinogen is so good do so because that's the goa/psytrance they like listening to the most, or because his work is just very "well produced" with a lot of advanced layering and details?
  18. What's a 303? Talking Souls - Karma 209...What a classic! I just love how the melody takes over you and you get totally psyched.
  19. Rather good music, easy to listen to.

    Chatroom?

My experience of a chat in addition to an already existing forum (in this case, it is the Lucid Dreaming discussion forum at www.ld4all.com that also has a chat), is that the chat conversations soon get very out-of-topic as there simply isn't that much to exchange about the actual topic; in this case psychedelic music. We already see this forum getting out-of-topic quite often, and I think this would be even more so if a Psynews chat were started. But sure, it would be great if we would like to befriend each other and get more personal with each other, but not as a mean for more psychedelic music discussion in my opinion.
  21. For me, it's about 50% of all the tracks MFG ever made. Then there is also Chakra & Edi Mis' "X-files".
  22. Wow, seems like the answer to Trancelestial Psychobabas was closer to me than I had thought. Let me tell you that I think "Ganesh" as Sheyba is a great track too
  23. Do you remember "Blue Psychobabas"? What a great track, so repetetively, swiftingly psychedelic. When I look up Trancelestial Psychobabas on Discogs, I only find this track on two compilations and no alias for the group. This makes me wonder if Trancelestial Psychobabas is one of these one-hit wonders of goa that only make one well-produced track. Makes me wonder why, because they're so good, it would be such a waste of talent to only produce one commercial track. Does anyone know who they are and if they have been involved in any other projects?
  24. One more question though, is morning trance what you listen to when you have just got up from bed or when you have partied all night and still stay up "in the morning"?
  25. Thanks a lot everyone for your informative replies. I am definitely going to look deeper into the things you have recommended!
