I love how Flying Rhino evolved their sound. I love the old stuff, the stuff from this era and even the stuff right towards the end. It was all different but all fantastic. This album is a great showpiece. Like the flight series, all the Re:evolutions get a lot of plays at Casa De abasio

Happy he's alive, although I never really assumed otherwise, just guessed that he was done with the music scene. Anyway, this album is dreamy spacey goodness and deserves more listens than I actually give it.

This still holds up as a quality release. Shame it didn't get much love here. I still love listening to Gus' up tempo stuff even more than his chilled stuff.

And again and again and again 23 years and counting

Listening to this through my new headphones. The Hifiman HE100SE open back planar headphones have amazing detail retrieval and a massive soundstage so this album sounds so ALive :wow:

Forgot this even existed, but it's really nice a natural sounding album -
So Dragonfly was the sub label of a sub label of a sub label? 😯
-
Yeah, Butterfly records had some great releases, Baba G - Dig a Jig, The Infinity Project - Time and Space, System 7 - 7:7 Expansion and a few more. But Butterfly records was a sub label of Big Life, who Youth was working for as a producer. At the top was BMG, big label.

Nirvana's Come As You Are is heavly influenced by a Killing Joke song

Story goes that Jaz beat up Dave Grohl and forced him to play drums on one album, like 2003 or 2004. The self titled one from that era. But as always, never check the facts of a good story, lol. -

Great early AP track -
I forgot that Dragonfly was a sub label for Butterfly Records, in my mind it is one of the greatest record labels ever so must have been its own entity.
-
How about if you narrowed it down even further?

DIdn't Dave Grohl play drums for Killing Joke on their self-titled album? I guess they got over it -
Since you're asking specifically for old school goa trance and labels with the biggest influence, you can narrow the list to the following: Blue Room Released Concept In Dance Distance Dragonfly Records Flying Rhino Records Matsuri Productions Phonokol Spirit Zone Recordings Symbiosis Records Transient Records Trust In Trance Records TIP Records Why Not Records If you want to narrow it down even further the following would be enough: Blue Room Released Dragonfly Records Flying Rhino Records Matsuri Productions Phonokol Trust In Trance Records TIP Records Many of the labels you mentioned released psytrance (like Koyote, Psyharmonics, Twisted) or goa trance records of relative minor importance (like Nephilim and Phantasm).

Butterfly studios was really special, Youth did a great thing with it. Many of the soon to be big acts was in that studio. Project II Trance released in 93 was probably the first Goa compilation. So if I have to pick, it's Dragonfly, but you listed many great ones. :))

Ordered these to one of the big electronic stores near me to be picked up tomorrow. I hear they come in and absolutely huge box though so I'm not sure I can get them past my wife without her noticing 😂 😂 😂

I remember hearing this live at the end of a Suntrip set and everyone just going wild. Still brings back such amazing feelings listening to it so many years later
