RTP Posted October 3 Posted October 3 I also have always found Amen to be a very good album! I understood why it was not the biggest favourite of the oldschool lover, but to me it appealed. This though ... well, I really like it. It's very good compared to the rest of the sound reaching my ears nowadays. I am so happy that they finally released something, after such a long time ... and it's good, presentable, I can play this to other people. I'm not even asking for any more, need no quantum leaps, just happy to be here and enjoy something new from Astral Projection after all those years once again On 9/24/2025 at 6:16 PM, astralprojection said: sounds like a tin can! its mastered so loud that youtube turns it down making it sound quiet. its so pushed to the limits. doesnt feel good on the ears at all! what have they done! meh. who cares anymore. well i do. the music itself might be good but the sound isnt good. oh well. it is what it is. heres to hoping it will sound good several years from now. maybe i just dont get it. Can it be that it's mastered for a certain setting? Such as playing in the car ... lots of people nowadays do that: mastering for car audio ... and be attentive when listening in YOUR car: in newer cars the audio sounds way different than in older ones ... I can say this out of my own experience: I've been having the luck of driving new pool cars (Cupra, company I work for has them), the audio in there is much more sharp and edgy and very different to my own car (which is like 15 years old) - in there it's much warmer, mellower even though you listen to the same songs. If you ever get the chance to listen to this in a car ... new or old ... give it a try and maybe that is it? Quote
Prana4ever Posted October 4 Posted October 4 Amen doesn't have spectacular tracks like albums before it, but it aged better. What I like about Amen is the production and crystal clear sound (mastering). I can actually hear a bit of Amen in this last album, but as it was said, the loud mastering destroys it... Quote

I can actually hear a bit of Amen in this last album, but as it was said, the loud mastering destroys it... amen does have spectacular tracks though. infinte justice, electric blue, chaos, techno drome and the very best: the nexus. thats 5 tracks thats 10/10. not even another world nor TIT3 had that. People just hated on amen for whatever reason. it didnt sound like the old sound. it didnt sound like TIT at all. but neither did Dancing Galaxy and neither did Another world. and those are both loved. so why hate on Amen? i just dont understand it. its excellent music and people dog on it for no reason. It will always be a perplex of mine. plus just like you said, it sounds so nice. its like a crystallisation of trance music. pure crispness. you say its mastering but really its not. its the sound design and the mixing. mastering really has nothing to do with it. edit. yes its no Enlightened Evolution. That track and the remix was to me the pinnacle of goa trance for many many years. i get how that sound is IT for many AP fans.. but lets dissect it. TIT3 had a bunch of garbage tracks also. poeple can fly and enlightened evolution was the only 2 good tracks from that one. kabalah is garbage, so is utopia, black & white, the feelings and the other sfx tracks. noone talks about those. why? cause they are not good. so thats TIT3 gone. only true tracks from that one is Enlightened and People. thats it. yet somehow people think TIT3 is better than Amen? Retarded! Quote
