devious
pretty cool. i have an ensoniq dps4 as well as a quadraverb. i hate juno 106's, instead in place i use a mks80 and i give them much respect because moog's i've learned are often found outside of psytrance. i would like to incorporate a moog rogue later on in the future. sh-101's are cool, they're just cheaply made, but fun anyways. i've wanted to try a memorymoog as in that picture, but never had the opportunity. it'd be nice to save the patches instead of drawing diagrams over and over again now i am pulling teeth over the jp-8000 and yamaha dx7. of course the jp-8000 "looks so much cooler" but i like the yamaha too, they're both pretty cool for what i aim to do. i'm still trying to sort that out. and yeah, i prefer hardware sequencing. computers are meant to be used to look at porn, hack the government, destroy national independence, and convert people into your cult following. unless it's a commodore 64, then it's meant for music! HAH! (sarcasm, i think computers and music are great, but it's just never been my cup of tea, though i've tried it out as of lately and have been having a flake of a time, i'll leave it up to people who are more used to working with windows. any good command interface (dos, unix based) sequencers available? i also don't like the idea of being on stage, using sequencing software in windows. duh, that's just stupid. unix or dos may be cool. and i just don't like macs. it's one of those jaded attitudes, but i hear they're pretty cool for live work. but come on, ableton plus windows = route for disaster. hope nobody winnukes you in the middle of your set (haha so 94/95ish!) I am happy there's a lot of old stuff popping up on psynews recently. It ignites a rather giddish feeling in me. I am stoked. And that flying rhino website thing. Diaks knows a secret. Hmmm... Please share! I'll stop writing. THANKS DIAKS! This rocks! Can I have the original Aaron

Can I have the original Aaron Hello Aaron im glad you liked the articles and also that you seem to be really interested in analog synthesizers as well as me. I also had a juno 106 that i sold.. i liked its sounds but i found it to be way to big and heavy, but i really liked its pads and somewhat sh-101 like sound character especially the lfo sounds very simillar imo. I have a sh-101 and i love it <3 cheap parts yes, but thats good.. because when you loose some sliders or it gets broken its easily fixed so perfect gig synth as well since its little and have its own sequencer.. only thing i miss on it really is a memory to save the sequences, patch memory i dont really need on it since its so direct in its synth structure so its easy to tweak the sounds i want fast. Go for the rack version of jp-8000 (jp-8080) instead it has more voices as well as external audio in that you can use as an oscillator, and as an advanced vocoder. Cheers

devious
I love you Diaks! Hahaha. Hey, by the way, I took your advice into consideration. So, what happened? I am buying a JP 8080 for a mere 425 bucks with shipping. This setup is going to be super dope. I would really like to get my hands on a future retro that's not going to cost over 1000usd The JP8080 has everything, box, memory card, etcetera too. GOOD STUFF! I think I just got a good deal on it. It'll definitely compliment the MKS-80 I should thank you Diaks, just because, had I not mentioned it, you would had never said, and then I would not had found this uber deal in time. I like those Rhinos. Aaron
