Compile Your Own!

Basilisk

Recommended Posts

I just put together an impromptu compilation from WAVs I had lying around (bought online or from otherwise cruddy CDs or whatever)... tracklist:

James Monro - Battered

Phony Orphants - Scratchi

Cyberbabas - Indigo Blue

Segment - Whooky's Wha

Ticon - The Clown Smells Like Gasoline

Jaia - Mad Processor Inside

Shpongle - Divine Moments of Truth (Instrumental)

Wizzy Noise - Time Line (BPC Remix)

Younger Brother - Evil and Harm

So the goal is... get something nice and snug that would fit on a CD, with some variety, that would make for a sweet little listening experience. Go!

OK I'll go for some old goa (hey, what a surprise, coming from me) and see if I can focus on stuff that is not released on CD or totally impossible to find on CD, and also that would fit together somewhat:

1. Har-Ell - Incarnation

2. Sound Pollution - Where

3. Underhead - Orojuna

4. Climax Absolüte - Wokiksuye (OK there is a CD release, but it's bloody rare)

5. Koxbox - Point Of No Return (Live At Burning Man)

6. Etnica - Intense Visitation

7. K.U.R.O. - Thunder Storm (in unmixed form on CD it appears only on his very rare album)

8. Space Dimension - Further Away From Earth

9. Psychogenetic Soundforce - Exeminon

The last track is a bit "techy" compared to the swirling stuff that precedes it, but it's such a corker that I can't leave it off the list =)

Hallucinogen - Space Pussy

Darshan - Mind Merge

Blue Planet Corporation. - Antidote (Pleiadians remix)

Frequency Surfer - El Bepi

Toi Toi - Up Days

also a bit of Oforia - Timelessness

and something from Hux Flux.

btw, Ukiro, you have any of your goa-mixes online somewhere? i'd like to listen.

One is available via bittorrent through Basilisk's tracker, but it doesn't show up on the list so I don't know the exakt link... Basilisk?

It is pretty "mainstream" stuff with lots of dimension 5, etc. Morning trance, essentially.

really some nice tracks there, i dont know them all tho, but i guess they would do the trick :)!

I think I'd just play one of the Shpongle albums straight through. I mean how much variety does a person need?

good thinking... how much variety does a person need, and also, how much variety can a person do (meaning Simon P. & co.)

Ah yes - that was a direct download link from my site, which put quite a bit of load on it. I strongly suggest trying bittorrent; it's very handy for this sort of thing. The client software is free and there are plenty of non-pirate uses for it =)
