  1. Artist: One Arc Degree + Cybernetika Title: Nether Moon Ep Label: Ektoplazm Date: August, 2015 01 - One Arc Degree & Cybernetika - Nether Moon (174 BPM) 02 - One Arc Degree - Ghost Comet (176 BPM) 03 - One Arc Degree - Ghost Comet (Cybernetika Remix) (176 BPM) 04 - Cybernetika - Stinger (One Arc Degree Remix) (87 BPM) Whaddya get when you mix 2 Greeks and a German? Some smooth electronic music. One Arc Degree (Vasilis Kesalidis & Ioannis Konstantios) and Cybernetika (Lars Goossens) combine forces for pretty decent ep. The science fiction style is well represented as drum n bass percussion pings off the hull of our observatory craft with Nether Moon. It also has a nice break and cool piano riffs. The kick thunders in Ghost Comet as gentle and warming tones twinkle above and then Lars gets his hands on it and makes it more dark and mysterious. The closing downtempo track is also mellow and mysterious. Not Earth shattering, but solid nonetheless. Free at Ektoplazm
  2. Artist: Cryomatter Title: Cryomatter Label: Ektoplazm Date: November, 2016 01 - Cryomatter - Intro (150 BPM) 02 - Cryomatter - The Collapse Of Time (150 BPM) 03 - Cybernetika - Physical Limit (135 BPM) 04 - Cybernetika - Chrono Wave (143 BPM) 05 - Cryomatter - Lunar Maze (124 BPM) 06 - Cryomatter - Reassembly (182 BPM) 07 - Xenofish - Shifted Machines (190 BPM) 08 - Xenofish - Twisted Horizon (170 BPM) 09 - Cryomatter - Cold Dark Matter (175 BPM) 10 - Cryomatter - Conversion (200 BPM) 11 - Cryomatter - Decaying Timelines (100 BPM) 12 - Cryomatter - Azure Particles (138 BPM) 13 - Cryomatter - 7-Dimensional Stasis (170 BPM) If you're a fan of science fiction themed psytrance then you know who these guys are. Cybernetika (Lars Goosens) and Xenofish (Christian Becker) have pooled their considerable talents in a Reese's Peanut Butter cup team-up that should have people salivating. Dark and cold foreshadowing a futuristic dystopia the music is Blade Runner on steroids. It begins lightly, but it doesn't last. With mind bending bpms they unleash a percussive onslaught that at times pushes me to my limits. 200 bpms? That's damn near face melting levels! Both of these guys have been quite prodigious when it comes to this type of music, but I can't help but feel that we didn't get the best they had to offer. The music (while superb in places) felt like b-side stuff without much cohesion. It's relentless pounding with a frenetic pace that gets really heavy. Think...thrash metal drum n bass. Even when the tracks weren't punishing (Chrono Wave) it wasn't that interesting. The best bits for me were the short dark-ambient interludes as they contained the most emotion. Tracks like Decaying Timelines. So while I appreciate both artists, I came away from this disappointed feeling an opportunity was missed. Now...a dark ambient album from these two...that's something I would certainly pay for. Free at Ektoplazm

  4. I don't know how to classify this kind of music but...It's awesome. It's like a mixe of drum n bass, hip hop and some electro / trance elements. The whole stuff is just crazy and I love it. Do you know some more song like those one ?
  5. Album: The Adventures of Multi-Dimensional Caterpillar Artist: Mindex Genre: Drum n Bass, Psybreaks Label: Time Resonance Music Size: 54MB License: CC Price: Free and Donations Track List: 01 - Spring Madness (feat. Do) 02 - Funky Monkey 03 - Sambuca And Milk 04 - Zephyr 05 - Electroshock Remember when the world was run on sexy downtempo jazz with a dash of airy guitars and drum and bass progression? You would be lying if you answered yes, because that never happened. Mindex decided it was about time to throw out some quirky originality for all to enjoy, putting together an uptempo set of DnB tracks. Typically, drum and bass gets pretty old after a while. We all have been there. When you first discover the genre you think to yourself, "Well golly gee this drum pattern is fucking great!". Then, three albums later, your making fun of it with friends. This is why It is refreshing to hear innovation, and apparently it takes a space shifting insect to make this happen. In fact, I am pretty sure if I close my eyes for long enough, I can join this "multi-dimensional caterpillar" in a joyful journey. I love the theme and find it highly entertaining. I will admit, this album took a little bit to get use to. It has a lot of melody. The style, however, is extremely rewarding. The constant fancy jazziness creates euphoric happiness… and I feel the need to dance! As I listen to these tracks, my body gets up and screams. The artist really knows how to get people up and moving, using a combination of funky grooves, jazzy influences, and dead-on fantastic drums. It reminds me of the classic surfer rock from the 70s, mixed with old school uptempo styles and rocking jam sessions. From the very beginning in Spring Madness, Mindex takes pride in being different with his drum lines and guitar riffs. Then, in Funky Monkey, he takes on a more electronic feel with a handful of juicy synths. Best of all, it is all proper quality. If you enjoy dancing to chill out beat grids mixed with a nice collection of real instruments, then you need to download this right now. The pace is perfect! The vibes are excellent! Sure, it gets pretty repetitive, I mean it IS drum and bass, but you know what… I don't care. This character fills in all the gaps, keeps things interesting, and brightens the mood of any room with nice tunes. If you want a sample, listen to Sambuca And Milk around the 3:45 marker. That is so cool. There are many moments like that, jamming out with some kickass organs, smooth guitars, and deep bassos. Personally, I find this to be one of the better drum and bass albums out there and consider it to be innovative to the core. 9/10 Download Here on Ektoplazm (MP3, FLAC, WAV) - Review written by FatKidWitAJetPak (Nick Sumbles) - Special Thanks to Ektoplazm for the Download Bandwith - Special Thanks to Slava Semenikhin for the artwork!
  6. Artist: Aural Planet Title: 5 EX Engine Label: Vivo Date: 2002 1. Paleo 2. Stimulation Part 3 3. Subtropolis 10893 4. Subtropolis 10893 (Crankshaft Blossmx) 5. Subtropolis 10893 (Auralp rmx) 6. Necrodelica 7. Upsilon 8. Phoebus 9. Costa Del Nymphos 10. Gene 11. Subtropolis 10893 (Nemezis Rmx) I'm sorry what the f*ck? This is Jacek Dojwa, Konrad Gmurek, Radosław Kochman, and Adam Skorupa from Poland who later became Sundial Aeon. They no longer release music as this project, but they have to be one of the most varied acts I have ever heard. Other than the train wreck that continues to call itself Infected Mushroom of course. Their first album Lightflow was a downtempo and ambient gem followed up by Part: Seconde which was some awesome goa trance. This is their 3rd full length release and they have officially left the reservation and gone rogue. "You betcha! Pew! Pew!" Nothing wrong with trying to stretch the creative legs right? Paleo- What begins as a slow industrial moody sumb*tch turns into a drum n bass/Jungle rocker that is heavy on the distortion. It's like Mario just said f*ck it and started banging on pipes. Throw in an airy female cry and all of a sudden I'm looking over my shoulder. Very futuristic and awesome Dance with me sprocket! Stimulation (part Three)- "I keep thinking that what we need is a new language. A language of the heart." This is Aural Planet correct? Heavy technoid beats and farty bass pound one out while a sample tells me not to move. Kinda hard though because this is funky sh*t. DnB and jungle riffs join the party and I am really wondering what I've just stepped in. Subtropolis 10893- This is the first of four versions of the same track. Usually I don't like where that's going, but let's see what happens. With a futuristic and industrial sounding breakbeat we are off. It begins to get a little cluttered even though the very hard hitting bass slam is present thoughout. And when the hell did Blade Runner get here? Saxophone? Interesting. Subtropolis 10893 (Crankshaft Blossmx)- There are more melodies here and he upped the glitch factor as well. The break slinks like it's trying not to be noticed and there is a whole eerie presence. I'm picturing liquid silver rolling on black marble and I have no idea why. I liked it better than the original until it sounded like my tape just got ate up. Remember cassetes? No. You probably don't. Subtropolis 10893 (Auralp rmx)- With some clunky loops a dubby beat forms the foundation. Now these guys know how to do remixes. If I didn't have the tracklist there is no way I would know these were remixes. It's noiser in a non melodic way with effects banging away like he was in a factory somewhere. Meh. Necrodelica- "There is nothing wrong with your television set. Do not attempt to adjust the picture. We are controlling transmission." No but there is something wrong with my player. It's making these harsh, shrill sounds that me no likey. That sample? Hope you like it because they beat you over the head with it. Upsilon- Like the rest of the tracks it sounds very electronic and cold with a heavy techno beat. Phoebus- The funky electro breakbeat has some appeal as electronic effects that sound like the whales song hum throughout. But it didn't stay with me. Like Arby's. Costa Del Nymphos- More breakbeat electro all up in your earhole. And just like that...it's forgotten. Gene- Floaty downtempo with a hammond organ I believe. Very trippy, and actually warm. Probably my favorite along with Paleo. Subtropolis 10893 (Nemezis Rmx)- The last remix of this track and it sounds nothing like the original so good stuff there. The saxophone is distorted and scratchy as other electronic sounds are strangled over top. Sounds of bottle being knocked over, birds chirping, One thing I will say is that this is very different from any of their previous releases. It's very electronic with a futuristic feel. It's also all over the genre map. Techno, industrial, breakbeat, DnB,...everything but trance. Nice to listen to something that isn't in 4/4 time and hi-hats blazing. Most of the tracks are fairly short compared to psychedelic styles as only 2 are over 7 minutes. There wasn't a standout track for me, but the journey was enjoyable. I would recommend it for a listen, but it wouldn't be something that I would listen to regularly. Mdk
