To be fair all the prog artists being quoted here are hugely popular. I'm in a group called Melbourne Doofers on Facebook. 43,000 members, not a lot of actual music discussion seems to go on but Tropical Bleyage, Astrix, Hilight Tribe, Vin Vici & Talamasca are all super well known and are the draw cards that headline a lot of festivals. Those youtube views do seem kinda fair to me. Think about all the 20 year olds that say how much they love psytrance as they push play on 'Free Tibet'

We could actually start an experiment! Let's create a completely new project on YouTube with a blank account and then post a (real and completely legal) track (which is ideally newly-composed exactly for this project and purpose) and let's buys some views, likes and subscribers for it and see how far this goes ... hee hee
Do you still want to do this? I'd be interested to see how far it can go and what happens once the money stops buying the views. We could start an off topic with anyone interested or get a private room on discord or something.

I think i'll take this just for myself, breaks & psybreaks might be one of the best things there are.

Those are some noisy ass suggestions. Maybe a metal fan would like them but phew, had to shower after listening to them.

Hi welcome In and nice review.
I gave this a go while drifting off the other night, need to listen again to really have an opinion.
Chillout and Goa both seem to be on the down (if the forum is anything to go by) but there seems to be more artists than ever in both scenes so I can only hope the parties are great.

Hi all,
I'm sure this topic has been done before, if so FANTASTIC post some links.
A friend in his 30's who has spent his life listening to metal is trying to get into electronic music. No specific genre as of yet, the only descriptor is that he likes epic and melodic music.
Last time he listenened to electronic it was when Skrillex and Basement Jax were in their prime. Modern EDM seems to immature for a guy that listened to heavy metal.
Any recommendations of where to get the guy started?
So far I have:-
Moderat
Jon Hopkins
Morcheeba
Bad Tango
Mood Deluxe
Kino oko
Opiuo
Jon Bovi
Zirrex (sneaking it in)
Zen Baboon
Thievery corporation
So I guess anything unique with its own flava profile that can get him hooked in some direction or another.

@Global Sect This release is stunning. I haven't even managed to voyage myself through the complete second CD yet but i'm enamored.
Review coming soon.

I think I've said it before on this forum but it's always seemed to me like techno and Goa trance have more in common with one another than to Goa and psytrance.
Would be awesome to see this trend continue.

Don't listen to the music in advance, because it's pretty stupid, but at a party, it's lots of fun and very hedonistic. It all felt very new and fresh. Go there without prejudice and you might be happily surprised.
I never ever would have thought that I would find hardstyle fun, but it was great. I will never listen to it at home, but I will certainly visit hardstyle dancefloors again.
Hardstyle is one of the weird ones that I find to be absolutely insane live. It has so many crazy and hard elements to it that make it perfect for a wild party. Also great for melodies and uplifting euphoric moments as well as being able to easily incorporate psy, pop music and all the rest of it.
How do people dance to it over in Sweden? In Aus we have muzzing and chopping.

Still the prog album I find myself going back to again and again.

It feels like it's been a year, but not a week has gone by since i've thought about this release. Well we finally have a release date
November 6 - According to Median Project on an FB post.

Thanks for the responses all,
I think Vegetal - Free Thinkers, Dark Whisper - Spirit of an Age & Xenomorph - Demagoguery of the Obscurants are the most overtly political when taking into account samples and track titles.
Va - Organic Fractal Vol. 1
in Artist News and Labels announcements
Posted
Artists: Various
Title: organic Fractal Vol.1
Label: Shemballa Records
Release: 1st March 2021
Compiled By: Royroy & Majinaor
First release from new label who said fuck it, if Shamballa Records is taken, we will just be Shemballa Records. Hell yea, I feel that energy.
Is there such a thing as too many labels? I wouldn't be so sure.
With some familiar names to kick things off they got me on their side.
Tracklist:-
1. Astrogano - Kind Of Redemption?
2. Sykespico - Energy Of The Universe
3. Quantum Dynamics - Apollo
4. Cypher - Rave Movement
5. Event Horizen - Letting Go
6. Fuzzonaut - Heykhan Ze Hadavar
7. GoAtmika - Came To Me In A Dream
8. Laughing Skull - Highway To Hell
9. Majinaor - Inspire The Liars
New label on the scene who kicked things off with a pre-order. I like their confidence, they clearly have the channels to reach people who like good things.
Only listened to the first two tracks so far but it's well mastered and tracks were fun.
