Why? You started this discussion, by actually blaming other genres, so you can not just say "Ok, lets skip Dark Psy, cause I like that genre". If you want to discuss, you have to be ready to hear shit about your beloved genre, just as I am ready for you to bash electro house... Not that Electro House is actually associated with psy...Are you talking about all darkpsy or artists like Morax and Infect Insect (aka 200 bpm artists).
Cause I agree that some darkpsy artists sound more and more like gabba/noise, but that's the minority.
Anyway. Instead of darkpsy discussion, maybe ppl should write their ideas about the problems/cancers/crappy stuff about todays scene.

No, I do not mean stuff that is 200bpm plus, I mean the stuff that you as well would say is proper dark psy. I download, listen 2 minutes and then I do a deep wipe and try to forget the horror that I just experienced.
You know what annoys me the most? Since I download mp3s to preview things, that I am later going to either A ) Dismiss or B ) buy , that I download Psychedelic, and all I get is some horror in my ears. For this reason only, I would like that it gets its own genre, so I dont have to even just listen 1 second to the shit. Its HORRIBLE ffs!
Just look at people on this forum that are asking for Dark recommendations, they want it to sound scary, horror movie samples, macabre... Yeah, thats dark.. and a bit EMO
A good example of how Dark Psy would sound is Darshan - Awakening.... now THAT is the proper stuff!

But do you really believe that darkpsy killed our scene? How? If you said cheesy full on I would understand. Cheesy full on is soooo popular, but darkpsy is not popular. Not even close. And people would disagree don't know what they are saying.
The sales of darkpsy albums. The amount of ppl going to their parties. Not popular. How is possible to kill a whole scene?
Unlike what happened in 2000 when suddenly almost everybody switched from colorful, complex psy to minimal techno-ish stuff?

Stuff like D-nox & Beckers isn't. Iboga records isn't. Minimal house promoted as psy isn't.
No darkpsy is the EVIL! Music made for young chavs, so stoned that they don't care for real quality. Just a bass and random sounds.
But back in 2000 when some artists decided than Psy is not interesting anymore, why not put some minimal techno in it? didn't kill the scene.
When Ticon and Son Kite came from nowhere and become the new trend everything was fine. But darkpsy is bad. It's fast, it's dark, it's hard=it's shit.
I know I sound harsh, but not liking darkpsy is one thing and saying that darkspy killed the scene is another.
How darkpsy killed the scene? It WAS never a popular sub genre, NEVER! Not even today.
Please check the Psyshop charts, this is the shit that killed the scene.

Ticon for me AND many others has not belonged to Psytrance for quite some while, its just you people that can not let go of their old more psychdelic stuff that still want to be hanging on to a thin thread cause you are not ready to make a leap forward and change your genre. 
But yeah, Dark Psy IS the pest of Psy trance for me, its the Cancer that can not be cured, the most awful kind of music man can imagine. THATS MY TASTE! Please Call it Corpse Trance or Deadmans Emo Shranz, but do not associate it with Psy! (damn, I can see Ormion boiling by now!)

Sometimes I wish I had some mastermind that would program my music for me, I would be creating SO MUCH faster. Its all in my head, I know exactly what I want it to sound like, but sometimes too hard for me to realize... Lack of technical skills... sucks!

No, its not like going to a hiphop party and saying that nobody likes Easy-E anymore, thats still the same kind of music. Dark Psy, has NOTHING to do with our scene anymore. Its TWO different genres. Its like comparing Minimal to Psytrance, its just as stupid. One thing is that I do not like Dark Psy personally, but another is, that none of the old sceners seem to have adapted either. Its a CHANGE of the genre, which took it further away from PSYCEDELIC than it has ever been. Now, if this is good or bad is only in the ear of the beholder. But please Change the Genre name to Horror Techno or something, but do not call it PSY!Cancers of psytrance?

I think the worst thing in the scene, is people with different tastes dissing each other.. Like idiots allways complaining about dark, minimal, fullon, or actually anything ells, sometimes i wander why you people are still here??? What did you enjoy? How much bigger did your collection grow the last few years? I can se that anything except suntrip is SHIT, all darkpsy sounds like a guy farting, ect.... It's like going into hiphop and complain that no one sounds like Easy-E anymore.. Get up to date, or take your hallucinogen and pleidians albums and get lost!

It killed GOOD psy and made a new scene, Dark Psy Scene. New sound, new crowd, the old ones out, the new ones in. Dark Psy for me is the pest itself for the whole Psy Scene. I dont even think it should be worthy of being a SUB GENRE of Psychedelic Trance, cause all it has adapted is the bassline. Full on, well, there is good Full on which also is Psychedelic, and then there is Full On which is just Full On and has NOTHING to do with Psy IN MY HUMBLE OPINION. Those are also creating a whole new scene, new people etc etc.
I dont see where you fit in the Minimal though? Minimal is a whole genre to itself, which has broken apart from PsyTrance and is now in another scene. Ok, you can see it as if they abandoned our little music community, but I see it as progress of the bands... Once again, in with the new, out with the old.

about the other things, I think you are a bit HARSH when you say that they are the CANCER of the psy scene... (I too was harsh saying darkpsy is the pest!)
I hate to say it, but Psytrance, is as good as dead. The only few bands that are still out there producing QUALITY Psytrance I can count on 10 fingers.

Well, considering that I made 7 record shops in ONE day where my town only has 2 it is a great effort, I went to Malmo to 3 record shops and copenhagen another 2, where I finally found and bought 2 copies of the record. What is your point? Why did you reply to this thread?7record shops? Great!
Anyways, I have just realized that I only have the cd of Flexitones here, not the cover, I am sure it is not in Sweden, cause I had it in The Netherlands... Fuck me if I lost it... Wasnt there a thread about covers and so on for cds on this forum? Damn can not find it.. I am probably just blind though. Anyways, if you have a cover for it, then lemme know. Or well, otherwise I will just buy the cheapest copy on Discogs hehe.

DecksAndDrumsAndRockNRoll is sure one piece of work. I can remember when I got myself the first copy of that (Mp3) I went to 7 record shops the day after to get myself a proper copy! Fucking great!Checking the Backroom Beats page on Discogs it seems I have confused the Flexitones album with the Swingers in Paradise album.
The Flexitones album was much cooler than the SiP album. Though I was really dissapointed cause I really liked Will White's previous work as Propellerheads. Also, Merv Peppler is usually a name that can bring much more than a mish mash of ideas that album was. Wasn't an elevators music, true. But it wasn't Decksandrumsandrocknroll either

I thought warnings expire after some time, I think for other users it is the case, but for me warnings never expire, that´s typical. Nemo, do I need to remind you that my warning level wasn´t set to zero after the first ban, I had 2 warnings left after the first ban and noone cared, I didn´t complain but when you threat me with ban I must add this, I will psot it in the Psynews.org section of this forum, too. First the forum moderation behaves wrongly, doesn´t remove the IP ban and doesn´t remove the warnings at all altough the warn level should be set to zero, but then they (you) threat me with bans because of your personal dislike towards me.
In my warnlist I have 4 warnings after my ban in 2007, I thought I could have 6 warnings before ban, but maybe the rules here don´t apply for all but forchoosen people like it was in America where black people hadn´t the same rights or like in Germany where the juddish didn´t have any rights, so come on nemo.
