no, it took me 10 minutes actually to make up my mind. I think I can live with the mixer not being infront of me... actually I think that it will be more confortable... any objections anyone? Anyone had a similar setup? (I know having the mixer infront of you is the COMON way to have the mixer)

I think I might have come up with a solution which is perfect for my new setup with the Mac Book and everything. I would then instead have the digital mixer to the right of me instead infront of me, and the mac would be infront of me. I could then use the KVM switch to use the logictec mouse and keyboard for it as well, and of course one of the flatpanels. The Novation and the rest of the other stuff would be to the left of me... Do you think I will be confortable with having the mixer to the left of me of course positioned like this / ? and yeah, have a laugh at my mspaint plan!! (I dont have visio installed yet )

No, because it would have to be YOU that comes up with the genres in order not to get confused. See your "Scando Tech-Electro" might mean something else to another person. For instance the same Genre would for you be something made by Minilogue, but for me minilogue would be Classed "Minimal Scando Progg"... so, its already confusing enough with all these genres, and eventhough I dont agree with genre naming such as Progressive Psy/Progressive Trance etc etc. But, it will not happen anyways (what you suggest) so I am not worried

I am with everyone here on Reason, its stable, its a good tool, but its limited to the devices in reason. I have heard that the combination of Reason and Ableton live is very nice, and not so CPU demanding either. Check it out!

installed it (flstudio) had a browse around, made up my mind, de-installed it. cubase all the way for me. on the mac I use live now, and I can say that I am getting very much into it... i can see the potential in it, for playing LIVE with it It all comes down to taste, and what you feel most comfortable with. At the end of the day, its the result that counts, right? Of course every sequencer has its pros and cons... but to tell another person to NOT use one or the other would be stupid in my opinion... someone might think that the workflow in cubase is better, and the other would think its better in FLStudio... I say this: Try every damn thing that you can try, make up your mind what suits your needs, and best... then stick with that Peace, Nemo
