Cool things - especially the Roland ones. Well my instrumentation is:Greetings,
So, after reading over a few posts, I get the feeling that a lot of people on the boards are using softsynths.. and a few using hardware. Here is what my studio setup has;
Wavestation, EA1, X5Dr
Juno 106 & 2
TR 909 and 808, TB 303
EMU Vintage Keys
Waldorf Pulse
and a load of outboard gear...
What do you all use, and what is your fav one thing you tend to go to?
Cheers!
Clavia Nord modular
Arp Odyssey
Roland SH 101
Yamaha cs1x
Fender el-guitar
different mics and effect pedals + diffenrent stuff like metal plates and chinese hanging cymbals

Still nothing radi..? As I understood it, you could the notes right away..i must go sleep now, tomorrow i will show you the graph with the used kyes in mfg when we dream adn also other tracks which you choose if the melody isn´t to complicated or not good hearable, astral stuff usually have loud melodies that it is easy for me to show you the keys of them, hallucinogen melodies are also easy to hear and show, melodies through distorded synths are a bit more difficult to recognice though but still possible.

Don't blame him for that...
Neither did I !
(but I do listen other genres now...)
Oh I'm not blaming him at all - it's just hard for me to imagine with all the music I've been listening to myself. And psy-trance is for most people a relatively extreme genre, so it's probably not so common to start there

The original Scatterbrain band from the early 80's is much better

I think these tracks had made me cry
Joy Division: "Atmosphere", "New dawn fades", "Decades"

This definitely not true. And by the way, I really doubt that you can tell if a melody is played with black or white keys. That requires an ear that almost only very experienced musicians have.Ofcourse man, without black keys it is impossible to make emotional music IMO, here´s a pic of the perfect scale for any emotional psychedelic trance, and not only for psychedelic trance, it is used in many emotional musics also:
Here´s what i mean, all good emotional goa trance is based on that scale, ofcourse there aren´t used all the notes but there aren´t used any keys which i didn´t mark.

Eh? Sure you know what you're talking about? I got an SH 101 and you really can't make it sound distorted unless yor're using an external unit..Man i forgot to include that i don´t mean tb303 distoration but i don´t want tracks with hallucinogens sh101 distoration. I have cosmosis - cosmology album and it isn´t emotional enough for me and it hasn´t that fresh sound like green nuns of revolution, pretty much astra projection tracks like searching for ufos or visions of nasca have also that fresh sound. Green nuns of Revolution - Ring of fire is not bad but i want more emotional melodies
Anyway V.T.O.L is an all-time classic that really beats the hell out of most other releases. If your perception is inadequate concerning feeling something for this track then keep listening.
You should also try Subcouds who are probably closer to your taste. They are just as melodic and somewhat sounds like Ass tral projection and mfg but their melodies are more emotional (to use your own terms) and the music holds a higher quality. Try "On Red" and "Greenflow" for a start

I've got the some old stuff and I was wondering what these could be worth:
V/A: Order Odonata vol.1 (dragonfly)
V/A: Distance to Goa 1 (distance)
V/A: Goa-Head vol.1 (legoan/nova tekk)
V/A: White Rhino (flying rhino)
V/A: Top of the Tips 94-98 (TIP)
V/A: Destination Goa 2 (why not)
Menis - Temporary Insanity (koyote)

It seems you're not the only one experiencing this crapiness concerning the way of things. This may sound naive but wouldn't it be an idea to unify and perhaps create a label on your own - controlled by the artists. I know that starting a label isn't something you just do but you're probably not the only feeling this way so maybe the prospects are still there..I am angry. Very angry!
This is my goodbye and my reason why I say goodbye to the psyscene I have been part of the last 13 years as a person on the dance floor, an artist and a DJ.
A scene I had a big passion and love for and used a lot of work and energy in.
I am angry at you the organisers because:
- You treat me with a lot of disrespect. I am not a "super star" so you think it is ok to talk down to me and redicule me when I ask for a gig.
- You expect me to play for free and even at times to pay my own transportation.
- You promise me a gig and after my hard work in the studio making my danceable liveset into a chillout set (because you think 133 - 142 bpm is chillout) you suddently 2 weeks before the gig tell me we never had a deal and give me bad excuses and basically dont give a fuck.
- You step on the small artists and lick the big "star's" asses.
I am angry at you the labels because:
- You tell me to do music your way or get lost.
- You Dont care about my artistic vision as long as you get the next Copy & Paste kilarghhhh.
- You dont bother to promote me properly (or dont know how to)
- You are more concerned about your own DJ career and image than promoting and selling your artists music.
- You rather release quantity over quality.
I am angry at you the audience because:
- You complain and complain but yet at the end of the day you still go to that MTV rave and support that MTV organsiers and the MTV stars weekend after weekend.
- You assume all artists are rich and have no shame when you log in and steal our music.
So yes I am angry and I am checking out. You wont hear this old man's music anymore in the psyscene. Have a good journey.

My first trance buy was "Trancentral five", bought in 1996
-
Yeah.. I totally agree here
Anyway radi, you should really try Subcouds - they're just as melodic as Ass tral projection and Mfg (and somewhat sound a bit like them) but they're a whole lot better.. Try out tracks like "On red" and "greenflow"

Some of the tracks are quite interessting but the production and variety are overall poor 5/10
-
"Howling at the moon" is one of the all-time best goa tracks imo.
-
Highly recommended
-
One of the really good albums o' the era. Very energetic, fun and acid..
Only track 2 and 3 lacks a bit compared to the rest and be sure to dig the original Atomic armadillo instead of this version.. 8/10
-
Really good album which actually set the standard of the goa scene when it was released
-
I think "Breaking limits" is the best Human Blue track
-
Unconscious Collective - Flourostani Transcendance
