  1. you have no idea. i dont even think wizzy went on. the thing was supposed to go to 9 and they closed at 5:40. it was at limelight. but apparantly, it wasnt a trance only night.....so half the place was full of fuking hip hop hoodies....and they kept comming into the trance room. which would be allright...except......well, lets just say it wasnt allright and leave it at that. what a fucking rip off.
  2. if wizzy is too aggresive for you...you might wanna stay away from spirialianz... they make wizzy look like girl scouts.
  3. yeah...i know, but it should still be pretty fun.
  4. so anonymous....we'll see you there then?
  5. god dammit!!!!!!!! freaking stupid morons. im really pissed off. i got it off audio galaxy....keep in mind that this is the only one on there. its not on the run. its a cover of time. and it blows. its boring and stupid. it goes nowhere and does nothing. what a waste of pink floyd material. and to the person who labeled this as on the run....youre an ass.
  6. wow...mr. hankey slipin in the fear and loathing quote...nice.
  7. oh my goodness. mike d? singing the praises of minimal? its one of the signs of the apocolypse. hehe i had a feeling you might come around welcome to the dark side the ones that rx7style are all good too. (although im not sure i dig xv killist or not yet) try these as well auricular spiralianz wizzy noise atmos (oh wait..you called him a knob didnt you?) hehe
  8. ok its unreleased right? and it doesnt seem like its going to be released does it? then.....its ok to get it from audiogalaxy......isnt it? i mean is it still "stealing" if the thing isnt for sale? were not keeping any money from him are we? besides..its ureleased because he probably doesnt have the rights himself to do it. everyone go to audio galaxy and try to get. theres only one version and its not available right now...but if we all put it in the que to be downloaded the chances are better that one of us will get it and then another..and so on. i really want this track.
  9. doh! im an idiot....nevermind. zodiacs is just a sample. its pretty good though. wow that explains a lot. ever since he played this ive been looking for it. and couldnt ever find it. then i was at bridge party and heard zodiacs..of corse i was really high both times and there was a long period of time between the two...so i just kinda thought it was the same song. no wonder the zodiac song never really did it for me like this one did. what a jackass. =)
  10. Mescalinium, he played that last time in new york when i saw him, are you sure he was "playing" it or was he spinning. try zodiac youth - space (paranoid sunglasses mix) hehe. when he played that when i saw him i nearly came in my pants. =)
  11. l.a. is a bad town for goa. i lived there for 5 yrs. im not sure why...but the goa scene just wont catch on there. i know my post is useless and pointless. sorry.

Soem Aeld , that vnv remix of destillat woulda been on the list if i had put down a few more. that songs bad ass. i assume youve heard das ichs remix of vnvs darkangel? i like that one a lot too.
  13. theyre not glasses. go to the flashlight section. they have all types of cool little flashlights at target now. you can get some that are like photons (they look cooler, but dont have a constant on switch) for 5 bucks each instead of 15. you will also see the lights im talking about. they look like little light sabers. they have 2 buttons on them. ones is a touch on/ let go off switch, the other is a constant on/ off and mode change switch. i think there only 6 bucks. they look damned cool (im fond of the blue) and then you can just set them to stobe and put the ends up to youre eyes. i would like to re-iterate though..the brain machines do what they do better than these...because you can just wear them like glasses and sit back and enjoy. my way you have to hold them up to your eyes the whole time. but this way you can move the lights around while they flash...a cool effect you cant do with the brain machines. the effect is exactly the same though which ever way you go. if you can afford them get the brain machines.....besides youll look cooler with them than holding up little lights to your face....and we all know how important it is to look cool =)
  14. hey tj, his name is ***** well, maybe he doesnt want me to put his real name here =). hes a cool guy, and he does have the brain machine glasses most of the time. theyre pretty expensive though, and dont really do much. i went to target and baught those little colored flashlights with the plastic tube on them...they have a strobe setting...if you set two of them on strobe and put them up to your eyes....its the exact same effect, without costing anywhere near what the brain machines cost. he didnt have his one night so i gave hime my little flashlight instead...he loved them. and theyre easier to cary and you can dance with them. im not trying to be a dick and tell people not to buy them...i like him hes always been cool to me, its just that if you cant afford them...my way is an alternative.
  15. yeah the bulk of the songs are 4:4 but hey usualy switchem up here 'n there, and have sudden stops and starts all over the place. plus a lot of times theyll layer in an off beat thats a little wacky and the people who know the song start moving on the off beat...leaving the rest of the people who dont know its gonna do that dancing out of sync and getting hit a little more than they wanted to....not that im oppoesd to that mind you =). it sounds strange i know..but industrial moshing isnt like....say..i dont know...moshing to a pantera song or rage against the machine. those mosh pits are just silly..no ones actualy moshing...its just a big mele with a band in the background. in an industial pit, people are actualy dancing. i know for myself...if im in the pit with a few other guys who know what theyre doing we can look like were killing eachother and never even come in contact. i admit though that that only happens at clubs. at shows forget it, youre gettin beat up. the hardest pit i was ever in was only about a yr. ago mdfmk (kmfdm) wow..15 seconds into the very first song i had a black eye. i saw two guys get thier nose broke that night. who would have thought mdfmk would have a pit that nuts? it was a great time though. the worst injury i saw was at a skinny puppy show in like 92 some guy got a compound fracture in his thigh. ouch. hehe.. we went from nice soothing ambient rooms to lots of blood and broken bones...sorry, ill shut up now.
  16. who is keyser soze? how many licks does it take to get to the center of a tootsi pop? did the universe just suck itself down into a tiny little ball then ask me to pass it the ketchup?..............or was that the acid?
  17. i agree with you guys...beatmixing is the way to go. but the question was for help on non-beatmixing. telling him to beatmix isnt helping too much. its like if someone asked how do i get to this place by public trasportation..i dont drive..and then telling them, "well the best way to go is by car"
  18. hey phaedrus, i didnt even realise i didnt have my email on here. i dont think its scientific at all...just a feel. as far as the chill out room goes. in a lot of ways...its harder to dj in there. you want to play good music, but you realy need to stay unintrucive..the music in a chill out room needs to stay in the backround, thats not so easy to do. im sorry i dont realy have any official resources. most of my dj expierience comes from spinning hard industrial. not goa or chill out. i am starting to do my own mixes of goa, but i dont have any plans to really spin out any time soon. the principal is the same with industrial as goa though...keep 'em dancing (moshing). my personal strong point when dj'ing was being able to introduce tracks that were not well known, and not having the dance floor clear out. this isnt really a problem in goa, though, as all the songs are pretty much 4 x 4. in industrial there are a lot of time changes and people dont feel comfortable dancing when they dont know where the changes are (plus it could get them hurt...dl the song thieves and liars by ministry for a good example). i would be more than happy to chat or email with you, im sure theres lots of stuff we could help eachother with.
  19. Phaedrus, i agree with you, im not saying you have to be concerned all the time about if the poeple like the music or not. you missed another very important part of dj'ing....reading the crowd. in a chill out room its not as important, people dont go to a chill out room to listen to the music (well most dont) they go there to get away from the craziness of the main room...hence the name "chill out" room. and to be realistic there are a lot of really druged up people in the chill out room, thats why theyre in there, cuz they got too high to dance or the music in the main room was getting to much for them. granted a lot of people just go to take a breather or talk or whatever but for whatever reason...they left the main room for a more relaxed one. i dont really see a problem with a 40 min ambient track at all. if bugbread got the dj gig im sure he knows about the music, so i think if he thinks its an ok track to let go....he should do it, i just wouldnt leave the room for too long...just in case it doesnt work out. some times you think a track is gonna be really good in a set, but it doesnt sound all the great when you actualy play it out at the club.

do i have to pick just one? no i guess i dont 1. skinny puppy - tin omen 2. einsturzende neubauten - headcleaner 3. vnv nation - joy 4. babyland - mask 5. nitzer ebb - murderous i could go on for another 500 songs..but i wont.
  21. well......its a double edged sword. i really think the only problem is....what if people dont like it? 40 mins. is a long time to listen to a track you dont like...especially in a chill out room where its likely to be filled with people in an altered state of mind. thats not a good time to have the chill out room music bothering you. but..if its a good track and people like it...nothing wrong. i wouldnt leave the room for too long though...that way you can kind of monitor how the song is going over.
  22. if youre not beat matching...then i would suggest not even putting beats near eachother...it never sounds good. use intros and outros with no beat in them...just some sort of swirly sounds and such....not too difficult with goa. that way bpms dont really matter. this may be cheating but...you can even make your own non-beat segues and just start playing it while one song exits and mix in the new song then fade it out...as long as there is some sort of sound connecting the two songs people wont notice, in fact the only time people do notice is when you @!#$ it up....and thats how it should be.
  23. well i live in new york city...so i can pretty much just go out and pick stuff up. i go to house of trance on st. marks. they have it all. and if they dont a.g. always does >; ]
