  1. yes i agree. although none of my music is good enough for it yet i do hope they have the cd cover contest as part of it again. i would like to submitt for that.
  2. a-pop always fell far short as far as im concerned. i dont know this song...ive probably heard it at a club but i dont recognize the title.
  3. im glad i didnt go to this. i had a feeling it wasnt gonna be too good. synth-sad has been really slacking off as of late. tsunami is back and pumping. why does it seem that its always one or the other being really good while the other is lame and then they switch? why is it never both synth-sad and tsunami are good at the same time? well at least they dont ever both suck at the same time either =)
  4. well, sorry 'bout the corrections. i didnt mean anything by it...i just take my industrial very seriously. =) what do i think? vnv is great i love them. a-pop i could do without as with assemblage. im not too into synth-pop i dont hate it but its not my cup 'o tea. i hafta listen to it all the time though cuz thats what my girlie listens to. anyway. Taika-Kim, i used to spin industrial so i could give you some of my sets ifif youre interested. if you want i could just make a new set just for you. =) let me know what kind you want....and ill make one to spec. i usually spin more hard industrial..real mosh pit stuff but i could soften it up if yuo would prefer a not quite so violent set. let me know.
  5. woohooo... im d/l ing them both right now... gotta love the t3 line =)
  6. jsb.... ummm.... x-dreams radio is indeed minimal. sorry but it is. and its freaking amazing.
  7. ok you guys ar mixing a bunch of different music styles together. "synthmusic" is not a genre. syth-pop industrial new wave new age ambient trance those are genres apop and vnv are "synth-pop" as is wollfshtien (or however they spell it) and beborn batan. although vnv and apop do cross over into plain industrial from time to time. and bands like ramstien and static x are in no way considered industrial by the people who listen to industrial. ebm. ive heard this used to describe industrial for years now. it doesnt mean anything ebm is just some fancy term for industrial that uses just electronic sounds rather than putting dirty machienery sounds in. ie. neubauten and skinny puppy would not be called ebm, but frontline and 242 would be. its silly. you absolutely can not put depeche mode and dive in the same catagory simply because they both use a synthasizer. herbie hancock uses a synthesizer....is he considered to be in the same catagory as say.......nitzer ebb? i think not.
  8. go to yahoo and put ".dll files" in the search field. you will find lots of sites that have tons of .dll files to d/l. just look for the one it says is missing.
  9. y-es. "People don't know of anything else since thereĀ“s almost only this @!#$ released nowadays" thats gotta be one of the dopiest things ive heard all day. supply and demand my friend. people dont buy it cuz its all they know...they buy it cuz they like it. why on earth would someone fork out 23 bucks for something they didnt really like? they wouldnt. besides.... wherever they get thier cds from carries all kinds of goa not just minimal. its not like people go to the label and buy it...they go to a store..or get it on line. there is plenty of different music for them to choose from....and they are choosing minimal. i defy you to show me a place where all you can buy is minimal trance. its not like people just accidentaly start listening to goa... this a genre that people have to seek to find. i guarantee that anyone who listens to spirallianz has heard hallucinogen and infected mushroom as well. how do you explain youre statement that they dont know anything else? its not like this music is played on mtv. and the truth of the matter is that there is more non minimal than minimal out there. if you add up all the music produced since goa started....there is way more non minimal, so there isnt one person who listens to goa that hasnt had plenty of chances to hear both styles.
  10. holy crap jsb. let it go. if you dont like a style of music...dont listen to it. the reason the style of music you dont like is being produced at such a high rate is because there is a high demand for it. a lot of people like it. if you dont like it just listen to something else.
  11. all i can say is this: if you listen to minimal and all you hear is a pounding kick and base line one of the following is the case: 1. your stereo sucks 2. the volume is too low 3. youre mostly deaf. there is so much stuff going on in minimal. the word "minimal" i think is not a very good word to use. minimal is far more complicated to make. its a lot harder to make a few different tracks in a song evolve and change and grow than it is to have 4 or 6 appregiated synth lines farting out notes all over the place, covering up the fact that there really isnt much goning on in the song musicaly or creatively. go ahead hide behind your "coplex" synth lines. listen to astral. im gonna go listen to the magik that the likes of son kite and absolum are weaving.
  12. sun project. undisputed kings of guitar goa =)
  13. try skazi there pretty good. not exactly the same sound...but then again youre not gonna get the exact same sound. give shazis "pissed off" a listen.
  14. damn i was there too...it was a really good song. wish i knew. sorry.
  15. hey phin... id like to take a listen. it might be easier to get your tunes if you have morpheus or better yet audiogalaxy. if you dont have a.g. yet i suggest you get it. its very good. also if you do get it. look for the group " off topic " its very easy to trade mp3s that way.
  16. thnx guys. hehe i look at sonicstate almost every day. i also look at vintage synth explorer as well. theyre both really informative sites.
  17. ok im no where near where i nedeed to be money wise to buy even a used one yet. but im saving to buy a synth. here is what im looking into: microwave xtk virus kb or indigo korg karma now ive also been thinking of maybe getting an oberhiem ob 12 instead as its about 900 bucks cheaper. im having a problem though because i cant really find a store that hase either microwave, virus, or the ob 12 so i can play with them. has anyone tried all or at least 2 of these machines who can give me a little help? i have one specific question also... does the ob 12 have percussion? is it any good? my only peice of hardware right now is a yamaha dx-200 which can make some pretty cool sounds..but isnt really complete enough. thnx for the help.
  18. cool mark. all my frinds bailed on me for this one. so im counting on meeting some of my club only friends, strangers, and hopefully some people from these forums. have a safe trip ;-)
