yeah, Freq is very very good. i really like that cd. i like that sort of trance. you should hear VA / Beaches and Cream - Dragonfly records. also very good. that sucks that you get no psy. or maybe there is a psyscene but its pretty well hidden. i didnt know there was a scene in SA until i walked into my first underground psy party. they are everywhere. you just need to look for them. your not gonna find it at a hardhouse party dude.

yeah, between most people here. i think everything there is to know about psy can be found here. i get the feeling progressive (or psygressive) is the most popular at the moment. full-on is ok. you get some pretty wicked full-on stuff. but if your at a party, i wouldnt want to hear full on the whole night. would kill your brain quickly.
-
dude, i wouldnt have made a peep if he didnt say "trust me, i would know" thats just leaving yourself wide open for a flaming.
-
ok, sorry, i just get frustrated when people say things like that as if they actually know what theyr talking about. your not stupid. simply ill-informed.
...and skazi is not good music.

well in my opinion psy trance is a great kind of music, but to mix it its a piece of piss, there isnt a solid beat so even if you mix it wrong and not in time, it will still sound wierd and warped like it is sposed to. You cant really beatmatch with it so how can anyone be a really brilliant Dj with that kind of music...
dude...are you stupid or something?? there isnt a solid beat? you cant beatmatch psytrance? of COURSE you have to beatmatch psytrance when mixing it. otherwise you would get double beats and it would sound sh1t. its ALL about beatmatching, then equalizing, and then technique. its very similar to mixing commercial trance / club trance.(although a lot harder in my opinion) id hate to hear how you mix dude...or if you even can.

There is also a tune by Talamasca (album Made in Trance) and track 10 is The Messenger. its also a very good tune, but may not be what your looking for...
-
i have played (and finished) FF 6,7,8,9,x,x-2 and 7 was the best one ever. it just had the best story line. couldnt tear myself away from it. also it had a very good soundtrack. would like to hear your remix of it...

Oooh. Favorite scary tracks. Good one. Here are a selection of those tracks that has made me the twisted, deranged, skizoeffective and utterly unsane beyond sanity and yet NOT insane individual that i am today:
The Shining - Opening theme
and now for the electric ones:
Hujaboy - Shaba Rain
The Delta - Pop
Psychonaut - Spiritwalker
Quake soundtrack by Trent Reznor - Castle of the damned
Quake soundtrack by Trent Reznor - Underneath
hehe, the quake 1 soundtrack is pretty creepy. there is one tune where it sounds like whispering the whole time, but you cant quite hear what theyr saying. scary stuff.

i would like to see a progressive trance (as in uplifting club trance, not the psychedelic progressive trance) and psytrance cross over. that would be quite sweet i would think. epic uplifting psy.

regarding the actual mixing of psy, I think people have got the wrong idea - I understand how eq's etc as I have been djing best part of a decade now, however what im unsure of is the actual track intros - do you mix them, or simply skip to the 1st beats of each track and go from there (which is what I have been doing)
Not sure if that makes any sense to anyone apart from me
i usually skip to the first beat of the next track. i play the intro on my first track, but thats usually it. i rate if you are very good, and your timing is excellent, you could mix in the intro, but that more effort than its worth i would think.

NOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! just let it die man....just let it die.....
-
fair enought dude, i wasnt really all that upset anyways! SA has a massive psy falloing though, i would change Africa to South Africa, as it has the biggest psy following in the whole of africa i think.
-
i guess south africans arnt important enough to get recognised.....*cry*

i like hearing other peoples opinions and what they think is good or bad. so long as ITS THERE OWN OPINION. then theres nothing wrong with it.
i like showering everyday for instance. in my opinion thats a good thing. most of you would probably disagree.

On the TV an airplane soars thru the sky. Pull back to find
DUKE barricaded in GONZO'S BEDROOM. He is typing on his
typewriter.
DUKE
We are all wired into a survival
trip now. No more of the speed
that fueled that 60's. That was
the fatal flaw in Tim Leary's trip.
He crashed around America selling
"consciousness expansion" without
ever giving a thought to the grim
meat-hook realities that were lying
in wait for all the people who took
him seriously...
DUKE records like A WAR CORRESPONDENT. The CAMERA slowly
rises -- DUKE alone in the room with the TV SPEWING OUT
IMAGES OF WARS AND CIVIL UNREST OF THE 90'S.
DUKE
All those pathetically eager acid
freaks who thought they could buy
Peace and Understanding for three
bucks a hit. But their loss and
failure is ours too. What Leary
took down with him was the central
illusion of a whole life-style that
he helped create...
RISING HIGHER -- THE WALLS OF THE ROOM APPEAR TO BY 20 TO 30
FEET HIGH. DUKE SEEMS TO BE AT THE BOTTOM OF A WELL... THE
CAMERA RISES UP THROUGH BROKEN TIMBERS...
DUKE
... a generation of permanent
cripples, failed seekers, who never
understood the essential old-mystic
fallacy of the Acid Culture: the
desperate assumption that somebody...
or at least some force -- is
tending the light at the end of the
tunnel.
HIGHER STILL -- DUKE ALONE IN THE ROOM -- AN ISOLATED BOX
SURROUNDED BY THE TWISTED METAL AND RUBBLE AND SMASHED NEON
SIGNS OF THE DEAD CITY -- A BLASTED LANDSCAPE WITHOUT
LIGHT -- SHARDS OF A CIVILIZATION.
<----- as you can see i really loved this movie as well. that is the best narration in the movie i think. very deep and profound.

Hi everyone,
Im new (ie, within last few months) to the world of psy/goa trance. Having been a hardhouse/hardcore dj for the last few years, trips to 'Planet Zogg' in Sheffield (where I am currently at uni), and 'Antiworld' in London, along with a few fantastic psytrance cd mixes being passed onto me have made me decide its time to dip into the scene - tracks like 'As I Child I Could Walk On The Ceiling' by The Delta, and 'Let It All Out' by Eskimo sound so refreshing to me on a musical level
yeah, let it all out is a great track, really fast and full of mad energy, but its not typical psytrance to start off with. its way to fast (155bpm). its a very cool track though. it goes mental on a big rig.
you should look for Prodigy - Voodoo People (Eskimo Remix) i think you will dig that. its an unreleased tune, so youd prob have to P2P it off someone elses machine. not that i condone that sort of thing...

there are a few psytrance / dance record shops in Long Street in Cape Town. there is a cool Psy-clothing store called Ska in Long Street as well.
down Seapoint Mainroad on the left is a place called Cafe Erte' which is a psy /chai coffee shop place. you can also buy tickets to events here.
There is a psy club place called Organafix, but i cant remember the address. its also in the City (cape town is not a big city)
If you need tickes to any festivals, parties, there are shops called "Space Station" in many of the malls there. you can buy all your psy party tickets and stuff from them.
hope it helps.
