  1. Waiting is the issue really here. I want to be mobile by the beginning of August (where we will take our summer holiday and I will need a laptop of some description). I'm just wondering whether a souped up powerbook g4 would be a good option in terms of music production. This means with the full 2GB RAM whack. Else I could settle for a G5, but that's a load of money considering I would have to buy an iBook for my mobile recording stuff...
  2. I didn't think they made G5 powerbooks either... Researching...
  3. How is this UK related then?
  4. Okay... I currently own a mac mini 1.25Ghz/512MB/40GB. I need to get a laptop for recording, and I'm thinking a souped up iBook might be okay for this. I also need a setup that will run Logic comfortably - so a low end powermac G5 might be good for this too. But would it be better just to buy a top end powerbook G4 instead of the combined iBook/PowerMac? No Windows freaks here please. I want to run mac computers, so shut up!
  5. http://www.moviewavs.com Seriously, I don't know myself. I'm also searching for the same thing!
  6. Cool! (Off topic - Where did you find your dragon pictures? I love dragons, they are so awesome! )
  7. Well I expect whoever buys Logic must either be stupid or really talented (that's £699 down the drain if you fuck up really bad - after all, there are cheaper hosts out there) And I would consider myself really talented.
  8. LOL! Can't do that! Yeah, as with any application.
  9. Ohhh yeah I was going to post what I was listening to Astral Projection - Mahadeva
  10. Nope, don't have Logic yet (too damn expensive!!) I know a friend who has it, I'll try it out at his house.
  11. What's wrong with Logic? (And it would be alright to do that, I'm inexperienced and need to know about music technology!)
  12. Kristian!! It is perfectly capable of running on the mac platform. Though I want to use Logic anyway.
  13. Xiphiaz, you could always make use of the ReWire technology.
  14. Thanks Philter, you've been very helpful!
  15. Why must he remix every damned track there is?!
  16. Hmm.. Condensers are pretty expensive, you're right about Rode being out of the question. I suppose that owning one made by a quality manufacturer such as Rode would be cost effective seeing as it is professional quality and I won't need to buy another for some time. What experience have you got with condensers?
  17. Ah thanks. So the SM57 is a good choice for drums then? Good Yeah I thought I might need two mics for the piano, what condenser microphones do you recommend? I want something that's in about the same price range as the SM57. And will both the microphones (the condenser and the 57) plug into this Pre USB?
