    V/A - Serial Killaz

V/A - Serial Killaz Artist: Various Title: Serial Killaz Label: Atomic Date: 2000 Track listing: CD 1 01. 08'41" Eat Static : Second Sight 02. 06'18" Viper : Moodadjuster 03. 07'58" Dope : Badangmix 04. 06'02" Wasp V Steriliser : Bug Thing 05. 07'47" N-Tropic : Impact (AD Mix) 06. 07'50" Noise : Darkling Baby 07. 09'17" Four Carry Nuts : Professor Hastig 08. 07'08" Snug : Big Clock 09. 08'25" Cydonia : Lisboa CD 2 (60'00" mix by Dino Psaras) 01. Four Carry Nuts : Professor Hastig 02. Noise : Darkling Baby 03. Eat Static : Second Sight 04. Snug : Big Block 05. Viper : Moodadjuster 06. N-tropic : Impact (AD Mix) 07. Dope : Badangmix 08. Wasp V Steriliser : Bug Thing 09. Cydonia : Lisboa Review: Atomic Delivers us a new piece of artwork, in their own style. don't expect much psychedelism here. I guess the authors want to trigger the listener throught rythms And grooves work... The Eat Static remains quite industrial" with a fast, then slow, then fast beat and many short electronic sounds behind. The Viper tune is very repetitive: a neverending beat, everyting is made with very scratchy sounds, and there are repetitive rounded notes over this. not bad anyway. The Dope one is like a race: it's fast on any point of view. It's also quite minimalistic...only a few sounds to cheer you up a little. The Wasp vs Steriliser: this track has a beat...but it looks calm, because the rythm is very clear, the melody takes its time, everything echoes back...it leaves a cool feeling. The N-Tropic is much more Noisy, to such an extent that you could figure you're in a factory. the sounds are noisy, the beat is repetitive, nothing is really enjoying, but the result is fine! The Noise track has a bit the same style: a good drum work, some breaks, but at this point I begin to wonder if such a track can't be called a simple rhythmic track (oh yes, there are 2 samples over it!!). The 4 Carry Nuts track is really more intereting: you suddenly wake up with a fast And dancing rythm, a powerful bassline, some wizzy sounds, dancing groove. When you think about it, the difference is not that huge compared to the tunes listened to before, but, THIS one sounds really good. (it's also been released on an Aurinko EP in these days). You can feel much more work And expertise on this track. It evolves nicely... A compilation without Snug in the year 2000 wouln't be a so-called compilation, so here it is: the same recipe as on their other tracks: a filled background with a good rythm, some strange electro-noisy-plastic-scratchy sounds coming from everywhere... you'd better like the feeling of being in a factory Eventually, Cydonia delivers us the last track: it's quite cool. It really looks like a commom Cydonia track, but downpitched. Globally, it is a bit trippy -a cool melody, some sentences or voices, and the typical Cydonia sounds-. I like this one too. As for the second CD? well those are the same tracks mixed with energy by Dino Psaras...imagine a machinegun!! It calms down at the end, though. For once, I prefer listening to the mix...but that's as you like. Overall, the tracks are all -quite- good, with good surprises, and...I really prefered "Single Cell", but, well if you like very dark tunes, and the Atomic style it's ok. A darkish 6.99/10.

    Asia 2001 - Live

oooh this one is old. Back to 96...i thought this cd was excellent. now, of course it's become kinda out of date. Anyway the tracks are dynamic and well built, the remixes are great. Now you would call this 'melodic trance'. This is not really in fact. It looks like 96 Israelian trance. Indeed, if you like this kind of music, this is a good reference. An oldschool mind says 6/10.

    Pleiadians - IFO

When I listened to the first minutes of the first track during summer 97, i was flabbergasted - i told Sylvain, the shop retailer: "it reminds me of something". He answered me "yeah, the composers are Etnica guys". then i bought the cd immediately without listening to any second of the other tracks. that was the IFO first effect. then , at home, i discovered the rest...total mindshock!! Roughly, the album is more than awesome, there are no words to describe this one. This is pure energy all along. Maia itself is a monument: there are twisted sounds coming from everywhere, multiple layers of melodies over powerful basslines And kicks. the track is 11 min long, but never monotonic as there are scores of little breaks And changes. This is just like that in the other tracks, power, power And perfection everywhere. Imagine a perfect journey of the mind. Grooves And melodies are meant to bring you everywhere it's possible. It's also incredible that the tracks are all different. Taygeta, Merope, Alcyone are also fantastic, orgasmic, uplifting, mindbending... It's obvious the tracks have been worked on very long to trigger the best effect on the listener. On Electra, you get on lightspeed immediately. It's ultimate (everything is ultimate, though, here, in the Pleiades), and your soul is close to escape in deep space . Asterope is the very sister of the others, and eventually the ambient Celaeno allows your newly energized mind to land. The words definitely dont exist to describe this high creation... I have a theory about that: Max And Maurizio are in fact aliens from the Pleiades (some sounds in the background of the tracks looks as if aliens were singing) and they try to communicate their culture to us through their music. IFO is simply billion years ahead. Three years after, i still listen to it, i have the same feeling of my mind being blown to infinite extent. Buy buy buy absolutely. 11/10.
  4. If you want a review of this album you'd better read the reviews of the former albums! Good things: new tracks, although not spectacular. Typical AP style. Bad things: everything is mixed (bhwaaargl) and the Trilithon or Floorplay collaborations are awful. I can say I liked AP, but at the sight of this thing, I cant help thinking that this is only a matter of money for Trust in Trance And AP. Why isn't it a brand new not mixed album? If AP are tired, they'd beter not release anything like that And wait to have new ideas! I must add that I didnt buy this album, and only listened to it. In other words, if you don't know Astral Projection, please buy this album And take this 7/10, if you already have the former albums, there's no interest, so...only 2/10.
  5. V/A - Lunar Civilization Artist: Various Title: Lunar Civilization Label: Moon Spirits Date: 2000 Track listing: 01. 09'30" Wizzy Noise : Shores Of Freedom 02. 08'14" Jaïa Feat Gill : Drum Explorer (DJ Maël Rmx) 03. 06'43" Total Eclipse : Once Upon A Time 04. 08'34" Elixir : Drops Of Madness (Talamasca Rmx) 05. 08'14" Bamboo Forest : Discover 06. 09'52" Absolum : Biologic (Live Mix - Amsterdam 99) 07. 07'43" Blue Planet Corporation : Blue Pill 08. 08'18" Lagoon : BLM 09. 06'26" Toires : Sissal Review: This is the latest 3D-V....hum no..this is the first Moon Spirits compilation. Globally, the compil is excellent. Even the banner-design reminds me of good parties... First Wizzy Noise provides us with a cool twisted tune, dark and dancefloor oriented. Ok for your brain. Then we have the surprise to see that Drum Explorer has a second breath with this remix from DJ.Mael. It consists in the main pattern as the original, a very good And fast rythmic, lots of strange sounds And voices. Ok we can feel the immutable 3D Vision style, but it's good, so... For the third track...well it's hard to understand what went through Serge S to create this one... An excellent track with a powerful bass and incredible twisted sounds. Imagine a calm melody that becomes mad sometimes! 4th track: do you like the 3DV touch? Well we have a dual-effect here because Lestat remixed an Elixir track. mmmh it's an usual Talamasca track if you think about it...5:30 of rythm and "zoing-tchik-poum-glang" sounds, then a break and a repetitive melody during 3 minutes - no offense - ok it's a good track, again. the fifth track is a dark one by Bamboo forest. It consists in a very fast And fat kick and some sounds of any kind everywhere, and a slight melody behind this. A pure nightrack, simple but efficient. (after Drumatrix), Christof continued to sample the Matrix movie for Dutch people, and us: The Biologic remix looks like the original with more sounds and samples - not a revolution. the odds are that the Matrix is a neverending source of samples for the psytrance scene...so BPC gives us a quite calm song with a cool And clear melody. It's a morning track, and a good track again. Christof under the name Lagoon gives us a strange track, quite slow, with good ideas, but boring sometimes. Imagine an Absolum track downpitched, on which you removed many sounds. Toires, eventually, gives you a taste of what's in his new album. It's a complete And deeply trippy 'ambient' track, put there for you to land... Recommendations - 3DV: reboot sometimes. - TErec: encore! - reader: buy this compil which is worth 8/10.
  6. Beware: if you dont like twistednoizycrackingwobbling sounds, don't go further. If your ears can stand the run and if you brain is prepared for it, ok....else...don't even think about it! It's very very psychedelic everywhere. Whatever can be the focus you want to have while listening to this record, sound is everywhere...you can't escape it. By the way, the tracks are quite all the same, but it's not especially boring. Boom strikes here. 7.5/10.
  7. Strange: when I first listened to this album, I flashed immediately on Mindhunter and Ligntning Rods. they are awesome And made me groovy immediately. Of course, Colombian Necktie And Freakshow are good also, but they were cooked too long...well it's a pretty good album, but that's not what I expected from Cydonia. Like Max, I think it's tooooo...light. Moreover this CD is hard to find. 4.5/10

    Holy Men - C4

definitely bad. All the tracks are the same, too fast, nothing more to say. It's not psychedelic trance. 1/10
  9. some happy hardcore PLUR child scared witless by this savage, brutal release ??? I think it's because of the album, not him... ok. i dont like this album. It's too dark; some tracks are well built, but it ends up with only noise noise and noise again in most of the tracks. so: 4/10

    V/A - Goa Trance RIP

V/A - Goa Trance RIP Artist: Various Title: Goa Trance RIP Label: Zillion Mental Anarchie Date: 1999 Track listing: 01. 07'02" Droidlock : UFO Report 02. 08'15" Yumade : Going Mad 03. 09'05" Lotus Omega : 100 % Revital Free 04. 08'09" Magus : Baian Kara Ula 05. 07'10" Alien Hand Syndrome : Mysco 06. 08'08" Church Of New Age Hippie Disco Shit : Ooze On Ice 07. 08'33" Battle Of The Future Buddhas : What We Saw Tonight 08. 07'51" Alphanaut : Lunar Tunes 09. 07'10" Ceiba : Track 13 Review: This is a quite good compilation: the tracks are dark And good but really brutal sometimes. 01: Dhya provides a strange work here...dark And not fantastic. just ok for scandinavian people... 02: Yumade has done an excellent work here. scores of noisy sounds over mindbending basslines And rythms. the end of the tracks takes your guts! rhaa! 03: Lotus Omega removes the dust from their old tracks And release one of them: 100% RF was written a long long time ago (heard it the first time in 1997) and here we have an oldschool psychedelic track without compromise. There is an uplifting break...maybe a bit cheesy, but with the usual horrible sounds And military rythm of Lotus Omega, it's ok ! 04:a dark fast track, also without compromise. from 4:20 it it very psychedelic. I like it 05: A more conventionnal track. It looks like old psychedelic trace. A good track anyways, but not THAT remarkable...It is a break in this compilation. 06: another tortured track, lots of wobbly sounds. It makes me think of a fieendly russian melody with lots of 'scrouitch-zoum-boum-booum-bzzkkr' over it. don't abuse And it will be ok for your brain! 07: ...one BOTFB song, well rythmed. A good rythm at the begining, a sample rip in the middle, 2 more minutes of the same rythm and them scratchy sounds everywhere during 3 minutes...a repetitive song, but i like it. Only another bit of madness in this compilation. 08: a mechanical tune, wih funny sounds on the rythm: ...boum-tchak-ding-boum...boum-tchak-ding-boum...maybe your mind won't accept it at first 'sight'. 09: a strange dark rythmic track. Not my cup of tea....too mechanical. Conclusion: a good compil, not excellent, only good. There are killers in it (the Yumade tk is the best one). Every track has something good in it...if you like very dark psy music it's ofr you: 6.5/10
  11. Good album, always guitar And rythm... the style has changed since the first album, its more rythmic, and distorted. some tracks are dark killers, others are...average. owever, johann is on the good path. I give only 6/10.
  12. I also like this vinyl... Alien nation pt.3 is quite psychedelic, and Troll is a real party-track. Of course you can feel the funny Ganguru style with the expertise of Jan/Xdream. Too bad this is too old now... 6/10.
  13. V/A - Strange Vibrations Artist: Various Title: Strange Vibrations Label: Koyote Date: 1996 Track listing: 01. 06'17" Miranda : Re Psycheled 02. 06'24" Underhead : Shubata 03. 09'00" Encens : Orgasmatronic 04. 07'13" Semsis : Plasma 05. 05'52" Underhead : Whirlrain Of Fire 06. 06'50" Encens : Psychedelic Sun (Spike Rmx) 07. 05'14" Stanley Shanti And The Chillum Wallahs 08. 08'21" Miranda : Planet Mars 09. 06'23" Ominus : Acid Tester Review: Those tracks are quite old now, but they are good, to my mind. Orgasmatronic is excellent, plasma is cool, Psychedelic Sun and Acid Tester are very psychedelic... it's a bit too old now, that's all. 7/10

    Koxbox - Stratosfear

I do agree with Ubik. The typical FORMER KoxBox sound. Nothing to add. Same opinion, same mark: 7.5/10.
  15. I agree too. It seems the tracks are those no other company wanted. Moreover there is no continuation, not any really good track, only 4 discs of plactic when you think about it... 2/10
  16. mars

    ISRAliens 2 - Bizarro

Wow. THAT is a goood compil. The new tendencies, experiments and much more are gathered in this compil. there is no bad track, there..some are certainly a bit too...experimental, but it remains psytrance. I especially like the Raw remix And the Dark Soho track, and the unforgettable Classical Mushroom. buy. 8/10
  17. mars

    Mystica - Age Of Innocence

It's good, but it's too cheesy after all. When you're listening to it the first time, it seems ok, but when you've heard it 5 more times, you cant stand it anymore. It's too repetitive. In fact it's on the frontier of pzatzot. There are some good tracks sometimes, so the mark is: 6/10
  18. mars

    Haldolium - Deague

Let me add that Pi Symptom is an excellent track. THe album remains very dark. 6/10
  19. Well, its a bid too...old and cheesy now. I dont like it. The tracks are all the same. Alala is the exception here, it's far better than the rest, so it can reach 3.5/10...
  20. mars

    Solaris - Solaris

yes, a must. the 2 tracks are totally ifferent. the first is a killer one, which was played in parties for a long time, and the second is more a morning track. you wont regret it!! 9/10
  21. mars

    V/A - White Rhino

It's a reference to my mind. Cool all along....but...hard to decribe... a good compil anyway. 7/10
  22. mars

    Etnica - Plastic

YES, a very very good release. Plastic is a dancefloor track quite cool, not agressive...the pure Etnica style. Vimana is an absolute killer track (you cant imagine, listen to it, and know how this visitor somehow displayed the way aliens have been genetically altering the development of our DNA from our very beginnings, and that they had inspired our greatest spiritual leaders!! As for Floating Universe, you will only find it on the CD single, not on the vinyl, and its a track that extends itself, it's strange. It's floating, turning, weird in fact (also try to get the live version, it's said to be a killer). So remenber: Plastic And Vimana MUST be in your collection. 9/10
  23. mars

    V/A - Single Cell

I like this compil. The tracks are all right, well chosen, the rhythm of the compil is ok: darktracks at the begining, morning ones at the end... nothing to add. I like it. If you liked Kiss the Future And Electrosect, buy it!!
  24. My opinion is the same, except that my favourite tracks are nr 3,7,8,9. Use a good soundsystem to appreciate the trip. Rating:7/10
  25. mars

    V/A - Beyond Colour

A good compilation to my mind! i love Hallucinogen's Magik track, but the E-rection, the GMS and the Psychopod ones are really interesting. 8/10
