  1. There's a recap video somewhere that explains everything that has happened very fast but you'll be totally 100% truly lost unless you actually watch everything you havn't yet seen up until this point. I'm finding it hard to say anything about the new episodes that isn't spoiler-ish tbh... Except they make me very happy Btw, has anyone read PK Dick's book, I forget the name, where the protagonist goes crazy due to ZEBRA and the pink light that beams down and feeds him information? Ben was reading the book in season four and I keep thinking back to that point and imagining it to reasonably important. Especially with the recent time developments. If anyone has read and understands it then it'd be interesting to see their take. I read the book so long ago that it's plotline is only a very vague memory these days.
  2. Agreed; I keep putting it on and then suddenly it ends and every time it leaves me totally baffled. Always a sure sign that the music is good when you don't realise how long you've had it playing
  3. X-Dream - Trip to Trancesylvania Medicine Drum - Supernature Slackbaba - and the beat goes om Listened to Medicine Drum on the way home from work in the snow and all of the flakes looked as though they were dancing to it It's a cool album, need to get more of this tribal stuff. The other two I havn't really had a chance to listen to yet but I'm hopefull.
  4. Awesome work Favourites are 'Watchers in the sky', 'Hornrider', 'Slang Thang' & 'Starseeker'. I didn't mind the fart samples in Durka Durka; they make me laugh, and I like that about the album. It's not too serious whilst at the same time being magnificently well put together. Hopefully I won't play it to death too much...
  5. Well whatever works for you. He definately has the talent, this particular album was just a little overkill with the ethnic for me. Still, I'd like to hear more from the guy. One to keep an eye on.
  6. Regardless she still says it's not worth it, and I'm very much under the thumb. Plus she has blisters on her feet atm, so couldn't dance (that's her excuse anyhow ). If you do go I hope you have a good time anyhow. Merv's a cool guy.
  7. I thought the Astrix gig was playing in Birmingham. I know a few guys who were going to see them. It would be pretty awesome to go see ES in a cafe nontheless tho.
  8. I should have waited for the download to finish and actually listened to the music. This is totally different to the track on Bliminal I understand completely. So far it sounds like psychedelic dub playing alongside a transistor radio from someplace far away. Not really sure if the overall effect is something I'm that fond of either. It's okay.
  9. How have I never tried checking megabus before; those prices are ridiculously cheap. Hmm... Maybe I'll try again tonight after work. I noticed that it's actually only open until Midnight though... didn't see that when I was attempting to get her to agree earlier in the week. What happens afterwards? I mean does the venue stay open but with different acts on or is that truly it?
  10. I'm currently trying to talk the other half into going but she's insistant the travel would cost too much
  11. Maybe I'm having a dumb moment but what do you mean by shanty shanty? I quite liked his track on the bliminal compilation...
  12. The most often used are Saiko Sounds (also for their samples) Psyshop but alas I get a lot of my stuff from the marketplace on Amazon The actual labels generally have decent shops as well. The web is your oyster.
  13. Plus of course you can enjoy instant enjoyment of the title right here Care to offer an alternative X-dream release? Was thinking of ordering this as my first X-Dream purchase
  14. I've been looking for that picture since I joined the site. The only one I could ever get hold of was so squashed it was pretty much impossible to read... so yeah. Thanks also Malevol3nt. I shall go and study it.
  15. I guess that psytrance punctures through into ordinary reality every now and again then flits off into the distance. I can imagine seeing a video or so late night when whoever is screening them gets a little bored and feels mischievous, and it's true that I bought BP Empire in a HMV once from their very limited 'electronic music' stand, but it seemed a rare day to see it on sale in the local supermarket. I still like Drosophillia's idea that this is the Ministry of Sound's way of looking underground, even if it is a bit contrived. As for what it was like in the 90s... well back then I guess I was listening to the Brian Adam's cds all of my own free will so wouldn't have a clue Thank God for psy saving my soul
  16. I guess I was just surprised. I've seen bits and bobs in HMV and places like that but never in ASDA. It has a very very small music selection *shrugs* @ Drosophilia: I guess I can understand it as an effort to be seen as more underground. That makes sense to me
  17. Yesterday, on the way home from work, I went to do a bit of home shopping in ASDA (The UK's WALMART) and noticed to my surprise that amongst all the ministry of sound and Ibiza comps was a Psytrance 3 disk set. I picked it up, looked on the back and found it contained vibrasphere, ace ventura, astral projection, infected mushroom etc. Just found it now on amazon . Is this an indication that psy is moving a little more mainstream? If it did, would it be a good thing? I personally hate the way it's titled "psy trance" (in small letters) "EUPHORIA" (in huge earth shattering letters) since that just reminds me of every other VA in these stores, but to be honest, about the fact it exists there at all... I'm just not quite sure what to think
  18. Eat Static - Science of the Gods It's a change from the other albums of theirs I have but I'm loving it anyhow. Do these guys even have to try? So far... Fantastic
  19. Just wondering; does anyone know if digipacks are easily repairable and if so where to get the materials to do so. My Spiral Empire CD is in danger of getting very scratched soon if I don't sort out the plastic insert thing and I'm finding that a lot of labels tend to prefer this medium. I find it a huge pain when the prongs that hold the CD in place snap or wear away. I don't think it would be too hard to peel the actual insert off with perhaps a little steam or whatever to the glue but I dunno. Really don't want to damage the case either
  20. Most of the stuff I've bought this time round has been from previous years and I'm not a great fan of downloading... But for what it's worth here's my results from this year. Trance 1;OOOD;Fourthought;Phar Psyde Records 2;RA;9th;Suntrip Records 3;Tetrahedron;Crop Circles;DAT records 4;VA;Opus Iridium Disk 1;Suntrip Records 5;Voice Of Cod;Gone Fission;Organic Records Chillout 1;Distant System;Spiral Empire;Celestial Dragon 2;VA;Opus Iridium Disk 2;Suntrip Records 3;Hol Baumann;Human;Ultimae 4;Eat Static;Back To Earth; Interchill 5;I Awake; The Core;Ultimae EDIT: I'm slightly wary about giving OOOD the top spot in my trance list since it's a fairly new purchase in comparason to the rest, but I really don't think it will be knocked off through multiple listens any time soon. Plus in any case I can always edit the post again if it does EDIT II: done one last check through my results and decided to take out Electypnose's Funked Up and Ticon's 2am. They are both fantastic albums but they're so removed from the psytrance sound that they just don't look right in this list. Plus if I keep them I'd have to add minilogue's animals and they whole concept would just collapse In any case their replacemens 'VOC' and 'Tetrahedron' are both very well deserving. Fourthought still kicks all their asses though.
  21. You'd expect they would do really, I mean surely a lot of their fan base is close knit and relies on fairly good customer relations. As for the accusations made by Earthcore, that's a pretty shitty situation, but even so wouldn't it be an even stronger reason to show your devotion to the people that matter and show them that your label is holding up under the strains and pressures?
  22. It took my end a long time to get sorted and he was willing to wait. Very nice seller. Fast, prompt and perfect condition. Absolutely no problems whatsoever. Couldn't be more pleased
  23. It sounds interesting, though it'd be nice for something a little more fresh. Something to keep my eye on.
