  2. euhm, i just tried it and i must say to you: WOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOT thanks, it's like the opening of a new era in my musicmaking. Me so happy now.
  3. Hey we are talking about the future, not the past
  4. I hope their will grow a underground sci-trance scene. Real psychedelia. The collission of science & spirituality. But that probably wishfull thinking.
  5. Hey i'm a fruity die-hard too. But i didn't know it could use reason as a vst. that's very interesting though Gonna check it out! How can i plug it?
  6. If you're just beginning to make music then pick FRUITY. It is the best way to understand everything abot music-making. Later on you still jump over to cubase or reason. Fruity is the easiest & most creative program of them all. If you start cubase from beginning you will get frustrated by all the technical details & end up with that "KILLAAAR" bassline with some stupid melodies. In the begin you need to explore one part after another. Stay away from every commercial synth or complicated program the first 2 years. get yourself fruity 5 & start experimenting. Learn every little detail about TS404 & osc3, & find as much totorials as possible. Ts404 & osc3 were made by fruity, they are very easy, the sound sucks BUT if you don't understand these 2 you will never ever learn how to use complicated synths in a decent way. Before you can make good electronic music you should understand electronic sound. So learn synth after synth after synth, every detail. And test yourself often: can i remake the sound of a 303? for example. If you can't do it, you're not ready for new synths yet. people who don't appreciate simplistic or mediocre sound will never know how to create good sounds without using a preset. First you need to know the basics, this takes about 1 or 2 years experimenting & learning. So luckely we have fruity, very basic, very easy, you'll learn alot & real quick. The sound sucks compared to cubase. best sound in fruity sounds like a baby playing with cubase. So it can be good enough, if you're a fruity-pro. But if you start making music in cubase you'll be jumping like a little kid if you can figure out how to let a preset run in the first week. but I don't know if you're beginning, maybe you're a pro fruity: positive: easy to learn your instrumental skillz, entertaining, quick, lots of creative freedom, negative: sound sucks, but is that important for beginners? no! cubase: positive: kick ass sound negative: slow creation=>simplistic creation, frustrating for beginners. Only for pro musicians
  7. bigwigs. very funky
  8. keep on doing your wonderfull contribution. We're proud do have such talented & dedicated people. &the fireshow is also nice.
  9. They have a formula for all of their songs but one hell of a formula!!! They are musical, very personal sounds, good layering & FX. They are not the most original but very inspirational to other artists and they set a good standardsound for goa trance imo. Off course, you can have your subjective opinion. But if you listen to it objectively you'll have to admit this is well made music. I didn't like them that much either few years ago, I always want music to be psychedelic, and AP is not really psy but more trance. Until i started making music myself. Then i gained alot respect for Ap. If AP is too straightforward then give me an example of what you like.
  10. Music played at the party was all old stuff. No new tracks. It just sounded different sometimes because he was playing it live. But i did hear something lately there would be a 3rd hallucinogen album soon. Don't know if it's only a rumour or not.
  11. I think Hallucinogen is the anti christ of psytrance!!! He's just too good compared to the rest. Now I lost interest in alot of other music! Without him, i maybe would have liked full-on! It's all his fault people always dislike skazi & full on! //don't take me too serious on this one Twisted was my first goa trance CD. I think that's why i love Simon's music so much. I played it constanly on repeat in those days. never got tired of ot. Still listen to it few times a month. Never will get tired of it. It's like a door to good feelings & memories for me. Some people take photo's or make movies to remember good times. I've got Twisted.
  12. I think they will still be making music but be too old to release it or play it at gigs. Simon doesn't need another job, he's rich&famous enough to live from his music. the party scene is very young. And i think when the people get older they will listen to chill out
  13. FOR GOD SAKE DON'T PUSH IT just kidding. full on = bassline first, then little bit of percussion + add some 3 note melodies dark psy = goooooooood percussion, then a deep dark bassline + some twisted sounds with innovative FX. Dark psy like fungus funk & kindzadza have very good percussion & FX. Ever heard kindzadza make the bass go below hearingrange freq. & then reappear again. Man that's wicked music! it think lowest range humans can hear is 80 Hz, so kindzadza goes 75 - 85 , 75 - 85 in - out in - out. You don't hear the sound but at high decibel you still notice it's there. very strange. It doesn't sound musical but if you listen carefully you'll notice that guy is brilliant! He's more like an electronic wizard then musician.
  14. Am I right that it's just high BPM melodic/maximal psytrance? full on is high bpm, the bassline is the most important part. But the melodies are more simple then goa trance. The FX used in full on are more regular compared to goa trance. Full on uses melodies but is rarely musical. Is stuff like old Astral Projection and Pleiadians "Full-on" then? no that's goa trance. full on is less melody, more bassline. Isn't all psytrance high BPM though? Today most psytrance is above 145 bpm Old skool is more 138-145. To have a good trance expierence 138- 145 is much better. 145 bpm is the speed sporters use to get the best results. If you have a good health then 145 is the fastest a man can run without getting tired. I gave a sporter a goa trance cd and he always uses it to train nowadays. When the bmp is +145 people will get tired and that will limit the trance experience. 145 is the guilder cut, it will get you the deepest, most distant experience. For me, it's been a while since i experienced a good trance. I don't use drugs so i can't dance to full on for hours in a row. maybe my last decent trance was longer then a year ago. but hey, i can still get drunk, smoke weed & annoymy friends at parties so no complaints
  15. I played flute when i was a kid.
  16. www.ic-musicmedia.com upto 10 free tracks!
  17. I prefer coming to psynews because it's smaller & the people are quite funny. But isratrance is much bigger & there are alot of artists over there. And they have very big sections! Like the art-section. Lots of deco artists over there. very nice topics sometimes. I think istratrance for me is only the art-section. Never visited the other forums And the bad thing about psynews, no art section
  18. I'm not sure what your problem is. your english is not very clearly! sorry dude. But i'll give it a try. 1.To change the lenght of a pattern you can go to paino roll (right mouse click on a channel) or use the box with -- on the upper left of the step seq. But working in piano roll is much better cause it ahs an automatic cut off at the end of a note. You can change the lenght of the notes. 2. To make a sound of 16 notes lenght with only 1 step you need to change the rel(ease) on the envelope of a synth. you can make them longer or shorter. I hope i answered your're question & otherwise, sorry, i tried here is how i make my melodies: 1.fill in a random ritmic on 1 note. like 1010 0010 1010 0010 (1 are 1/4 notes) 2. save it as a score. 3.Make a melody with 4 full notes 4.press alt-u to chop. 5. fill in the pattern at the playlist, like 4 times to 17. 5.select new pattern 6.Go to synth, play around with the buttons, if you find a good one to tweak, like the cut. then rightclick, edit events. press page down, press the area under 17& press alt O for LFO & fill in a wave. 7. add some extra spice with FXmixer & be happy So 2 patterns here make up mel. 1 for the notes & 1 for the LFO. enjoy creation! Hope i helped
  19. or used a preset or score. nah probably he did it himself. He never uses more then 3 or 4 notes. skazi's most musical melody: do fa do fa....... re but it's good for ambiance! everyone can sing-a-long. doeba doeba dey. doeba doeba dey. doeba doeba dey. doeba doeba dey. i'm skazi doebadiebadoebauw i'm skazi dabadee dabadauw dabadee dabadaauw i have a skazi house with a skazi window ..... etc
  20. I'm a deco artist since 2 years, in august i have my 25th party. And i make music but no ambition to play it in the current scene. Just experimenting & trying to dig up something new. really psychedelic. more like interesting sound then dance music at the moment. for example, i put my delay's on 3.14 or use an alphabrainwave as LFO in a synth freq. stuff like that, just to play around, really hypnotic effect sometimes psychedelic for me is all about symmetric art&sound. It synchronises my hemispheres(brains) and allows me to enter a certain state of concentration which i can't open without symmetric input of the senses( visual or sound). music has to be played in stereo, so i prefer headphones to listen to music. The more pattern-shaped the music is the better, cause the activity in my brain is also patterned. The behaviour of the music tricks the mind. Like art, it's all about illusions. ("ceci n'est pas une pipe". - magritte) The music then influences both sides which can lead to a synchronisation. it's also visual really cool, the deep vortex effect - best creative concentration you'll ever experience. The most of my deco art is also symmetric. I also have mirrored paintings to use as stage deco. one goes left , one right+ a circle/mandala behind the DJ. togehter with the symmetric sound this stimulates a sense of depth which is deep mind concentration. so with deco i try to get people as deep into trance as possible. Maybe in the future i will try the same with music, but i prefer more experimental/musical chillout then "boom-boom-boom-shake-that-butt-beats" nowadays. + i think it is dangerous for people on drugs who have no psychedelic or spiritual background . think it's the same as throwing a nade to their head. In a spiritual sense of course
  21. my expedition started somewhere in 2001, bassement of a very very old warehouse next to a railroad. We had to climb in through some sort of small door/window. the bassement was about 3 meters high, so if i would stick out my arms & jump i could grap old dusted pipelines. OOOh man i loved to play the monkeyboy down there. about 150-250 people, few blacklights, very dark athmosphere & music, cold&rainy outside, completely drugged spaced out people. the organisation, the soundsystem, the Dj's, everything at the party was crappy in some way, but still it has this....very energetic powerfull "vibe". the location was superb, never to forget. Not even my wildest dream, or the most twisted movie can capture the atmosphere that was hanging in that claustrofibic bassment. Never met it again. 1st party just blew a whole in my sense for reality like a shotgun. I stayed at the party till 18:00 and when i went home about 15 die-hard freaks were still dancing & sveral others were stranded in & around the location. If i find a pic of the location i'll post it here.
  22. I listen to all kinds of psy. Can't make up my mind which i love most. Now i'm into the dark progg but maybe tomorrow i'll start listening old skool again. It's all good & sometimes i can get bored of everything. I can't understand people that only stick to one sub genre... There is sooooo much good music in every genre.
  23. ghreg on earth. very very dark.
  24. Infected mushroom is commercial and still has some intelligent sounds. Astral projection is very commercial & WHOW, they made alot of wicked tracks. From old skool to commercial, it was just THAT good that they got famous. They diserved it. The music had soul & creativity in it. I also want to see some psytrance for the masses. Being commercial is not bad, but being unoriginal, or stealing other peoples succes by a lousy remix, that's bad. What will happen is that people will think: oh, look at skazi, is it that easy to make psytrance, you only need 3 notes, a kick, an old melody from a 5 year old song and a bassline? I can do that... And after a while others will follow & the creativity & depth of the music will be gone. But anyway, In some point you're right, it's still a free world..
