Hello everybody,
I started this thread after participating in the anthem trance thread. Since this topic reminded me so much of the past, I had an idea (I hope it wasn't made before) to try and recreate my musical experience by years. For each year to name a single track which marked or changed my musical style (does not have to be trance nor even electronic nor even a track which was released in the year you're associating it to then). You can try to do so also. If you listen to music for a very long time, you can try and sum up a period when you had a similar music style with one or two tracks.
Let's begin:
2000: Eiffel 65 - Blue. Everything started here. This track made me listen to music. Before that there was void. I was musically born on summer 00. I won't post a link to the track here, in fear of being stoned
2001:
. I soon left Dance aside to concentrate more on Trance. This track was on one of the first Trance compilation CDs I bought, and it rocked my world (and my ears).2002: This year, because of the influence of the people around me and since I paid now attention to the music they listened, I began listening to different music styles. So I'll put three tracks.
Infernal - Muzaik , Bomfunk MC's - Uprocking Beats ,
2003:
, definitely.2004: Subsunday - So Good (DJ Cor Fijneman's Oustanding Remix). As I said in the other topic, I was wondering if I would ever stop listening to it...
2005:
. This is it. This is the end of a cycle. The last major Trance track for me since the beginning of my musical birth. I won't search for Trance tracks anymore, nor will I find them so attractive, because of...2006: Hallucinogen - Fluoro Neuro Sponge . I didn't switch to Goa because of this track, but I discovered Twisted very soon after, because of all the recommendations on the internet. And this track was like something I never heard before. My heart was beating so fast while hearing it, I couldn't imagine music could be so powerful. Boom Shiva!
2007: Hum... tough one to choose. Because of all the Goa I discovered. So, I'll choose a surprising one.
. Because I began listening to many other forms of music (slowly but surely).2008: Well, many are in the competition...

This was my 2004 tune. I remember thinking when will I stop listening to it in loop. This is Cor Fijneman's remix. Such memories... Damn...

Lol, I just saw from rino review that the back cover is made with Batman & Robin 60's series characters!!!

Approved. I have the extended version on cassette, with the extended of Kai Tracid - Peyote Song and Paul Van Dyk feat. Saint Etienne - Tell Me Why (Vandit Remix)Lange feat. The Morrighan -

And...........................................
WOOOOHHHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO :posford: :drama: (playing Polka)
FOL is a cool album. I bought it just for Moon In Your Window, but I became addicted to Modulation also. These two tracks are just mind blowing. I can't think of enough words to describe the energy that fills me when I hear them.
-
I bought something from them few months ago - Etnica - Alien Protein, and everything went smooth. A single experience is not a super recommendation, but I don't think I'll hesitate to buy from them again.Anyone?
lol, i'll just pretend that I have been waiting 2 years for a reply here but seriously, it looks like i'll just have to go buy it from beatport! ... Are they a reputable business to purchase from? they appear so.

Doesn't work for me either...................

indeet, impossible to search for "best of 2007" or "best of". When searching for "2007 votes", there is not the best of thread....
Do they know something we don't know?

Yes, The Ancestors is ultimate awesomeness mind blowing music.
Now is it possible to hear all your tracks Artifact?
Thanks

Whoa, Caffein dude, you have more than 100 posts today! I think I never saw a rate that high!
-
Man, you created something magical. This track can really send you to another world.
This is really good. I listen to it regularly.

Thanks to Sarrsari I noticed this will be my 1000 post! 1/3 done.
It's time for a little face-lift.

Here's my (bad) translation:
Don't remember this song from Kindergarten
Two rhymes without harsh words
I remember how near the Shabat table
Everything seemed holy
Don't remember the name of the girl
Brown eyes, short, black hair
I remember some pains
How time passed
Look how I sing for you
How I am torn
Look how I sing for you
Old songs
Flying to the sky
Touching life
Falling into water
Froth and waves

I like this track! Great melody in the beginning, and the rest is good too. Will it be possible to hear the full track?

I was just wondering about it, since I personally try to make recommendations which sound "similar" but I also try to give some names of things that are a bit different, just to try and broaden things. If we're turning this into a general psytrance recommendation thread rather than just a similar-to-IM thread,
Do you think it is a right approach? Sorry to hijack Flaringo.

The 20 seconds from 05:37 to 05:57 are one of the most amazing moments in Goa Trance ever... Huge explosion.I remember there was a thread like this only a few months ago... And I think my picks were
Asia 2001 - Kalimba (I almost broke my leg dancing on it)
...
I was thinking of Miranda - Keep Calm, quite a long intense build with not much variation, and I don't remember a "climax", but there was more and more energy released.
-
If you like guitars you might as well check some recent SUN Project, Johann Bley and... try perhaps Cosmic Experience by Electric Universe (not much guitars but interesting full on).
I don't really have other things to recommend, this is not really what I like in psy

The albums coming the closer to a 10/10 for me are Hallucinogen - Twisted and Jaïa - Blue Energy.
If I want to be completely objective on my subjectivity, the "problem" with Twisted is Dark Magus which is not entirely 10/10 and Shamanix, same reason. But the rest is 11/10 so it compensates .
I'd say Jaïa is a less "11/10" but all tracks flow better than Twisted. The only track which is perhaps a little less good would be Spiritual Drops, it is more difficult to listen to.
After these two, there are many superb albums. Say, Trust In Trance 3 where all the tracks except Aurora Borealis (I hate this one) are 10/10 but the album doesn't have a good variety to make it a 10/10.
Mystery Of The Yeti 1 could perhaps reach 10/10 though...
I can't really think of any others for now, but surely there is a tough competition on my top 10 (except first 2 ranks which are already taken by the two first albums I talked about before).

File has expired.
Is it possible for you to upload it again Towelie? I'm curious.
Thanks

Digital Mystery Tour - Rue Des Roses
Nice to start the morning with

OK I also didn't see the samples site... So I'll check there. Not sure what you'd call it, I think it's that type of psytrance that's "just psytrance" without being oldschool Goa, dark, fullon or whatever, the kind of stuff that Twisted and Nano put out... I hope someone more knowledgeable than me can give a better answer.
I am interested in this

Hum... I think this is precisely what the... (how do I call them?) "deciding"? team wanted: that the first post will be "perfect", with photo and tracklist and track by track description. But I see what you mean, if nobody reviews a CD and it doesn't get reviewed only because it's too hard/annoying to make a track by track description then it's a bit a pity.
A solution would be that someone posts a first post with only release details, and post his review in another post. Then, if someone wants to make a track by track description, he writes it and paste it on the release details post.
Problem: you have release details post under someone nicks and the review (the "good" one) is under someone else. So perhaps the release detail post will be under noone's name?
And also, who will be the one to have his review on the first post? The first one to submit? Someone who is doing this for a long time?
My suggestion isn't perfect but I don't really have another idea.

So abasio, you kept switching between Goa and Ambient I see.
Pretty diverse I see rino. Laurent Garnier's track is cool. But when I first hear it I wasn't impressed. Took me a while to appreciate it.
