  1. The Prophecy by MFG you mean? Weren't they inspired by AP or something. Got this vague idea in my head that they were kinda AP's apprentices (slap me if this is bullshit)

I prefer them over AP anyway cause they tend to sound less "fluffy" :P

Actually there is a track by AP which is called The Prophecy. I think he meant this one.
  2. Wow, thanks to buzzman's review I checked the samples of the new Electrypnose. God knows I didn't like at all his upbeat dark stuff on Where Do We Go etc. But now I'm just listening to the samples on loop. Check out n°4, 7, 8, pure mayhem!

    Definitely worth a listen IMO.

  3. +1 :)

Btw u didn't like Another World - the album?

Anywho, I think the biggest reason I love these guys so much is that their music has so much replay value. And it has inspired so many new talents that are rising up these days. Not to sound too corny, but their music belongs in a special place in my heart. :)

No, I didn't like it at all. I think what I dislike in everything after TiT3 is the change of their sound when it comes to melodies. They use some kind of different synth I think and I don't like it. I also think their melodies are far less solid than their earlier ones. They are not all bad, but not really good either.

And I'm now listening to Tryptomine Dream and I have to say it's not bad at all. I will try in the future to give them more listens. But I doubt I'll like them more than their earlier work.

  4. I never really tried to think specifically about the last tracks...

From a first thought, here is what I think:

Hallucinogen - Solstice for a more uptempo last track. Both relaxing yet energetic.

Chi-A.D. - Sacred Vision indeed. This track is wow! The rhythm feels a bit like Healing Magic and it is mind expanding, energetic and powerful!

Of course there is Jaïa - After The Rain... What can I say about it except that it blends perfectly with this outstanding album?

I also think Electrypnose - 00-16 is very fitting to the album and a very strong finish.

And the last that pops into my mind is Jikkenteki - Warmth In Cold Places. While I think the first 2/3 are not exactly outstanding, this is not the case for the last part of the track. I couldn't believe my ears when I heard it for the first time. Absolutely... I don't know, I don't have a word for what I want to describe...

EDIT: I just thought about Juno Reactor - Landing. This completely (?) beatless track is very striking after the madness of Man To Ray.

  5. I'm still mostly a new jack here. But uh, I don't see why people are leaving unless they have absolutely nothing to contribute or say about psytrance (and related genres)? I guess that's understandable. I mean, it's not like we lost a brother or something... or is it? o.ô

To be honest, when you got used of the off-topic it's really hard to see it gone. But yes, to announce you're leaving the forum sounds a bit too much IMO.
  6. Apparently we have opposite tastes radi.

I find everything from Dancing Galaxy and on just dull. Even Astral Files I don't really like.

For me the best of AP is Let There Be Light, Mahadeva (and NOT any remix, only the original), all TiT3 except Aurora Borealis. I quite like Dancing Galaxy and Soundform, and IMO Liquid Sun is a masterpiece. Some of TiT2 are also nice.

EDIT: oh yes, and they don't know how to make ambient tracks IMO. I just hate to hear those remixes. Depends on taste of course but I'd like something different and innovative.

I tend to agree with you about Filteria being cheesy even though he seems to evolve alot in the "good" direction. But I can't understand how Khetzal is cheesy? Except perhaps for the 2/3 of Ganesha Pramana, all his tracks are very solid and coherent.

  7. Electrypnose - Subliminal Melancholies

It got some attention, but not what it deserved! It is in my top 3 best ambient albums EVER, period

Yep. I don't know if I can be as categoric as you are, but this is definitely something that should be put next to the best names there are.

I would also like to add Torakka - Far Out Express. Even if it seems it has nice attention judging from the review, I think it is something really unique and it is not always considered as such.

  8. Well, I on the contrary, am not very happy from this "remix"... What do they add to the original track? Sounds like they took the original and put it into the "Goa moulinette" and there you have a ground-breaking track... So easy.

But to my opinion Astral never made something ground-breaking or even interesting since Liquid Sun. I don't have hopes for their new album, perhaps it will sound better in full length on the CD, but I am doubtful.

  9. Means justify goals, as in politics, better would be not discussing politics at all, right? Politics is nasty thing in real world where 1000s people die every day and it's very naive to assume that it should be nicer at some music forum. So you think it's not appropriate to discuss current economy & political issues? So world is going to pretty deep shit but it's not appropriate to discuss it here cause is not PLUR? Which forum around meets your requirements? Philosophy forum? Or more hippie oriented?

FTP, you didn't understand mars statement I think.

Discussions (politics and maaaaaaaany other subjects) in off-topic gave birth to fights. Even perhaps some threats for the forum (I'm not sure, let's put this aside).

    Psynews hacked few times.

As soon as off-topic was relaunched, attacks again.

So off-topic and attacks might be linked. That's logical to assume.

The attacks also threaten other sites which are important to him. And also other sites which do not belong to him (I think about Psysurfeur).

mars is not payed to stay in front of Psynews 24/24, 7/7.

    Conclusion: you close off-topic.

And yes, it's not really dealing with the source. But it's understandable. I wouldn't want to bother twice a week to reconfigure things for a whole day. At some point you start to think "why the hell am I bothering with sh*t anyway?".

It's not cool, but that's life.

  10. Someone deleted all the index files with a cheap php hack I think. I have wiped the server now.

Jeezus, what's with all those hacks? It looks like all those lame thriller-movies plot are coming true...

EDIT: and you plan on bringing it up again?

  11. Thanks. Things work perfectly.

Your tracks are pretty cool. I find them a bit too repetitive, but they are very nice to listen to nevertheless. And yes, Travelling is sweet.

BTW what happened to Elektronikmuzik? You know what I did right?

  12. I don't care really. Off-topic was a spamhouse anyway.. and I've got a life to take care of atm. No more spammin from my side even if we get another offtopic forum on relocation :)

Edit: No, the offtopic stays closed permanently. Mars decided not to open it ever again due to the recent hacks (his words).

Ow, that's really sad... It was an entertaining and a nice place to hang in. I hope there is chance it gets reopened...
  13. Punishment of whole?

Ok Offtopic, Spiritual are gone, but it's good to have at least some part of the psynews back. But I don't get the logic, Someone who really hates Offtopic has decided that he will destroy it with any means, So he decided for the attack, cause he knows that Mars really hates that shit. So he (they) made it and were succesfull and Mars has closed it. So they won, and we lost.

It's just very unfair for the regular users and don't start with that bullshit about the owner decision, Mars inhereted the forum, not created it..... and true value of this forum was is not in general section.

I'm not sure that it is permanent, unless you are 100% sure of course. I read some days ago that Nemo (BOFH :D ) and mars decided to recruit some Off Topics moderators. So it seemed like it was gonna keep living. Perhaps they're waiting for the moderators to reopen it...
  14. Whoa, that's some heavy sh*t! Sounds really good for now. I don't want to raise hopes too high, but I can't help feeling excited about this one.

Chi AD track sounds so nice. Suntrip seems to have found the formula for opening tracks after the smashing E-Mantra in the previous comp.

Looking forward to hearing California Sunshine, Aerosis, Artifact 303. Things look very promising.

My feelings are a bit more reserved about Virtuart, Ra and Antares. I hope I'll manage to "connect" to the melodies.

As for Filteria, it does have a kind of Transwave feeling, sort of Ulysse's Voyage feeling...

Good luck for this release! And for Suntrip.
