In my quest to become the biggest Psytrance genre nerd in the multiverse, I just found out the "Bushprog" genre

Apparently, it's related to the sound of the people of the Zenon label from Australia

Now here's the thing: I know of a genre that we call "zenonesque" on a website named "Rateyourmusic": Zenonesque genre description on Rateyourmusic dot com

... but look at the aliases. No mention of Bushprog! So uh... is it the same thing as what Rateyourmusic describes as "Zenonesque"? (If yes, I need to fix the huuuuge and universe-destroying mistake of omitting this mention on there!)

Does anyone on here know what "Bushprog" it?

Yeah I know what it is lol.. Its progressive played in the daytime usually at doofs/parties/festivals in Australia.

The crossover is real between Zenonesque though.. When I think of Bush Prog in Aus it would be more Weapon Records/Tetrameth sound.

I see him and Ryanosaurus are on that sites list so yeah its pretty on the money. Its like.. Daytime ish psychedelic progressive played in the bush.. Haha.

Do you have a spreadsheet or something with all the genres, sub genres, sub sub genres, sub sub sub genres etc. on it?
Would love to fall down that rabbit hole.

Zenonesque is not a genre. It's an umberlla term for music that is released on or sounds similar to music released on Zenon Records.

Producers on Zenon records produce various subgenres of progressive psytrance, such as dark progressive, bush progressive, but also psy-techno.

Bush progressive is slower (often 130-135 BPM) subgenre of psytrance that focuses on groove, eclectic and organic elements, sometimes with jazz influences.

Hi!
I don't, but this I found this psytrance term (bushbrog) there if you're still interrested! And if you're interrested in nitzhonot (technically a derivative of goa trance), I'll now tell you that there's
- the oldschool style (a bit minimalistic, not that psychedelic)
- nitzhogoa (bringing back goa trance influences)
- uplifting (the greek style, not that psychedelic though) and its subgenre "nudge psytrance" (barely anyone knows that one though, but people like Agneton and Glytor could probably tell you more about it!)

And well, the psytrance genre tree on a different website I'm on has more darkpsy-related genres, as well as a bit amount of releases to check out!
I also remember someone on psynew making a file with other psytrance genres absent from both websites I cited... there was twilight full-on on it, for example
