The Red Book by C.G. Jung

Hi there!

So I've just read this really interesting preview on the latest book by Jung, that he never dared publish during his lifetime because he was afraid that people will consider him mad. Aparently it is about his personal explorations into the collective unconscious, filled with illustrations that look surprisingly like the Divine Moments of Truth flash animation...

So personally I would've ordered it right away but was put off by the price tag: 130€... at that price I guess I'll wxait for the paperback to be published. But I was wondering, has anyone else around here read it? What do you think about it?

G'day,

I came across this a few months ago when I was looking for Jung's Complete Works. Princeton University Press is the only publisher currently releasing his works and they're certainly bloody charging a lot for them. Hardback only. Avg 40-50 US bucks a piece for around 20 volumes. Get farked!

Anyway, the same company that released this Red Book is also completely reprinting his complete works over the next 20 years but in a more complete format and translation than they have currently been completed in.

This Red Book does look interesting. Similar to some of William Blake's style of psychological musing. But yeah pretty damn expensive and I think will only ever(never say never) be released in hardcover format for the moment.

If anyone wants to buy me a copy, let me know and I'll tell you what it's like. Posted Image
