M-Class

Have a listen to my newest song, "M-Class":

I seem to have this inability to create goa songs, despite my desire to. This is one of those songs that started out as an attempt at goa, and ended up being notgoa. Let me know what you think.

I might make some minor mix changes in the future, and I might replace a 303 sound that I'm not too happy about, but I've been working on this song for a long time and it hasn't seen the light of day yet, so I thought I'd get some opinions on it.

i like the riffs in this one

they twist in and out of each other very nicely.

very nice groove, not too fast which i like. when the hats first come in is lovely :)

interesting percussion with the flammed hats leading into the snare

the riffs and melodies here gave me a feeling just like old goatrance, especially the way the way the different sections overlap and interact.

but i wouldn't fuss too much about making it the 'genre' of goa, it is a sweet track and that is enough :)

PS - is the track's title a reference to Reason's mastering suite?

No, it's a reference to Star Trek. M-Class planets are planets capable of sustaining humanoid civilizations.

Thanks for listening. :)
