I didn't like the Krakakot EP véry much, but here they show us WHY they will rule the Psy-scene in a few months...!! Yes, this is GREAT stuff!!!!! It blew me away like "The Gathering" blew me away almost 2 years ago... )) Anyway, here we go with track one, a real hypnotic and minimalistuc stormer with great bassline!! Track 2 is the best on the album imo!!! Hard bassline, insane melodies, many strange noises and véry fast (150 BPM) a real party stomper!! The best song I heard last months!!!! I Don't like number 3 véry much, there is a rather simple melody in it that works on my nerves... Number 4 is also not my cup of tea, too many experimental noises and a weird "double" beat!! But then we go on with killers... Number 5 is hypnotic and dark psy-trance for those night-hours... And so is number 6, altough we have more strange and insane noises there!! 7 is really cool, BUT, the bassline is way too soft, it sounds like there's no bassline at all, a pitty cuz with a hard bassline the song would have been another killer!! )) Song 8 is also fantastic dance-music and number 9... WOOW.... the start of this song sounds like HARDCORE/GABBER!! 155 BPM and a Hardcore-sounding bass with coll psy-trance effects on it... How would we call that?? Goa-Core?? Anyway, this sounds great at -8%!! So all together a MUST have!! Many killers on it and only 2 songs I don't like!! 8,5-9/10!!! Parasense, keep going!!!! Guest FLyiNg_is_hEAlthiEr_than_SLeePin Posted March 16, 2001 Share Posted March 16, 2001 Overhyped a bit maybe ... but a lot better than the average minimal releases cause this has HYPNOTIC written all over it. Track 2 reminded me a bit of GABBA. Ultra fast with that monotonous dark beat(very surprising tribal sounds in the background). Of course, spirituality is far and between but Parasense does the hard driving mono stuff better than any of the new crowned minimal kings. I don't particularly like the annoying GMS sound effects in some tracks but the quality of the basslines and excellent percussion programming simply saves the album. A must buy if you are into (fast!) minimal, a so so release for people that prefer their music served more melodical and 4/4. I think Parasense is a trendsetter and we can expect that the current speedlimit in psytrance will be abandoned in favour of such GABBA speeds. 8/10 for minimalists 6/10 for the others. However its only redeeming feature is that it does have a lot of trippy noises in it. If I went to a party and heard this for 3 hours Id leave-reminds me of Dj Masa in Japan-a fucking headache.Track 8 is not bad though.
