It sounds like 'Alien Protein' but much softer, very nice melodies on the first three tracks and then the tempo goes up on #4 and it reaches its final climax on 'Moon Influence' which is a very good track!! Very nice melodies through all the tracks and not a single disappointment. If you like 'Alien Proten' you need to get this one, it's almost as good!! Many artist that are named as "goa" trance, are actually far from it. I'm not saying I don't like it. I just wanna bring up my opinion that for instance GMS is not goa, though it's one of my faves. Goa should be about feelings, divine melodies. Personally I don't consider music as real goa until it gives me this certain dreamlike brilliant India feeling. I recall somebody pointing to this already, but many groups nowadays are just some tech-trance. But this album, it really gives you the ultimate India feeling, probly best goa album ever released. All the tracks are good, 1,4,5 are very good, and the last track, "Mystical appearance in goa" is totally a masterpiece, divine track. BEST! I can't hype it enough . Most of the tracks are fairly ambient, with dreamy melodies. It sounds a little old, but it's not too bothering. The style of a couple of tracks reminds me a lot of Jean-Michel Jarre, for those who know him. I fell in love with Moon Influence, one of the faster tracks. Its your typical plane that almost got enough speed but finds itself in the ocean. Their first album was nuts! Their Pleiadians album (IFO) was a mind slaughter going ape shit in between the ears. Very Superb with an introduction of 4.30 minutes!! and then you enter into an other dimension!! wow...More of 10 minutes of real goatrance sound...only for real goa people!!....However this album is ALL superb and very melodic.... rating 9.5/10!!!! Guest Zaraknon Posted August 31, 2001 Share Posted August 31, 2001 First of all this is Etnica's first album (before Alien Protein) and I consider it just as great because this album defines the term 'Goa Trance' like nothing else does. It's not the 'kick-ass'-factor that counts here but the India-influenced melodies. That means it is Goa trance in its purest form and a vèry special album for (re-)discovering the roots of the psy genre. My favourites are 'Infinitive Dream' and of course the epic finale 'Mystical Appearance in Goa'. Btw, the track listing says "3.Vicky's Dream" but in this track you can hear the same final melody as in 'The Gili's Voyage', so this is the 'Ketu Remix', track 4 then must be 'Vicky's Dream'. It sounds very dated as well (Alien Proteïn on the contrary). But I just got it and I'll have to listen to it in different states of mind for my definitive opinion.
