Review:

From the Southern heat of Israel the Elazar brothers give us their

fourth album and best release so far. All the tracks have their own groove

to them and dont sound similar unlike 'shadows'. So the first two tracks are

simply openers and are very atmospheric peices..something to float your mind

into the journey to come. From track 3 the vacation is over..relentless

pounding and groove..will surely rock any dancefloor! Track 4 is nice and

bouncy somewhat in the style of 'beat manifesto' by BLT and

Psycraft..another dancefloor filler. 5, 6 and 7 are very nice tracks

..typical Future Prophecy style with the modern kicking edge..track 8 'keep

the frequency (lsd) is the most played track here and will be do great in

parties. The vocals are taken from AP - Mahadeva.Ending the cd is 'the blue

side of me', a very nice end laced with a beautiful melody. One of the best

releases of 2000 ..dont hesitate with this one..you cant be disappointed!

so you think "shadows" sounded x-dreamy? wait till you listen to this new one!

it's the return of the "radio" =) but with x-dream making a complete u-turn

(or Three Point Turn?) in style (i just saw them live this weekend, and was

very unimpressed with the new minimal stuff), this might not be a bad thing at

all. i'm very pleased with this album, future prophecy have come a long way

since their nitzhonot debut, and they made some real quality tracks here!

track 8 is especially good, it really blew my mind when i first listened to

it. in this track, you don't think "yea it's good, but x-dream already did it

before" (like the rest of the album), but "wow, so this is future prophecy!

damn they're good!" =) 8/10

A very good album, I would have to say I like this better than Shadows. Future

Prophecy does X-dream and does it in style evoking memories of Transylvannia

in the first 2 tracks. Actually I think the first 2 tracks are justifiably the

best tracks in the album, Assign is just so ethereal, dreamy, hynotic I do

hope they continue in this fashion. The middle of the album is pure X-dream

Radio era. Big heavy and dancy. The final 3 finishes it off with good cool

down period, more Israeli I would say.

Pretty Good Album ! Let's forget Track 1, much too short to be good, and with

much too vocals And dreamy sounds ? Track 2 (as nearly the whole album) is

PURE X-Dream style, with fresher sounds ! I would say that's a new X-Dream

Track if I didn't know it's from Future Prophecy ! Regular rhythm And basses,

with some dreamy samples appearing regularly in the Track ? Really good one ?

maybe the best here ! Track 3 is also X-Dream style ? good, but not as good as

the previous one ? an X-Dream construction with influences from Infected

Mushroom in the snares ? but lacks a " peak " in its construction in my

opinion ? Track 4 still is X-Dream style with an Infected heavy kickdrum (used

in many Tracks here), but I find it a little too repetitive ? sounds of Track

5 (still very similar to X-Dream stuff) all have an echo applied on them ?

that gives the Track a really good atmosphere ? but the bassline is too

repetitive for me ? Track 6 has more Infected sounds ? I would say Mushies

drums, bass And snares and X-Dream melodies And atmosphere effects ? however I

think this Track is too Infected-oriented ? Infected style doesn't suit very

well with X-Dream one ? Track 7 also seems to be made by X-Dream ? pretty good

one, but little repetitive too, but you'll like it if you like X-Dream, cause

X-Dream Tracks are voluntarily often repetitive ? Track 8 is more israeli, but

not cheesy ? I don't like the main vocal sample on it that much ? seems not to

belong to psytrance ? Track 9 has an israeli melody, but it suits well with

the rest of the Track, sounds absolutely not cheesy for me ? it's not X-Dream

style, but it's a good Track ? so my favourites here are Tracks 2,5 &9 I don't

like Tracks 1,6&8 that much ? To conclude, I would say people who love X-Dream

And are waiting for a new X-Dream album to buy this one, cause that's very

similar to X-Dream sound (more " We Created Our Own Happiness " than " Radio "

style however), and really well done (the problem is that Future Prophecy seem

to hesitate between pure X-Dream stuff And israeli-oriented one, with Infected

influences, so this album isn't completely X-Dream) ! An album perfect to

listen to while working for example ? Keep on doing this Future Prophecy !

Maybe they are just imitating X-Dream, but they are imitating them very well

and I think we should not minimize their work because of that ? before someone

shouts at my rating I precise that I ONLY LIKE (not love) X-Dream style and

ask them to take a look at the ratings I gave to the 3 X-Dream albums before ?

so here it is : Rating : 6.5/10

A lot has been made of Future Prophecy's X-Dream influence. Too much has been

made of it, in fact. True, the synth line from "Freak" is used on several

tracks here -- bent, contorted, and completely reshaped but always

recognizable and genuine. Even so, this album does what far too few trance

releases nowadays attempt. It steers a conceptual course. They have a plot and

this album, from start to finish, naviagates flawlessly. FP have redefined

morning music (yes, that's right, I did say morning music). No longer are we

blinded by the glint of bouncy, fluffy melodies. Instead, FP deliver the sound

of completion, a sense of closure that comes with the imminent sunrise at a

truly raging trance party. Comparisons be damned, this is a stellar album from

a band that has developed into a finely-tuned engine. Once again, psytrance

fans have cause for celebration. We've been given a very special "work of

art." 9/10

I really hesitated before buying this album.. FP used to be nitzo/// but they

have really evolved.. the beauty of this album is that it sounds really good

the first time you hear it.. track2 is the best song here.. i love the atmos

kind of sound, reminds me a lot of x-dream. Track 3 onwards the album is a

rocker.. this is great stuff and certainly not nitzo.. one of the better

releases this year. who said israeli trance = cheese.. hear this album man..

israliens are back.. hear skazi and blt as well, if you aren't convinced. go

israliens.. 9/10.

Its a good album, though not a must. Music 2 and 7 are good and will get you

jumping.

If you like a cool chill out song number one is good for it.

This album sounds a bit boring. Nearly all tracks seem to be equal. My

favourite track is number 9. Tracks 7 and 8 are also ok. If you expected

sounds like viva or flying from the contact compilation, don't buy it.

If someone is inspired by x-dream sound why not express it in his/hers positive way. I dont

see anything wrong with that...for a fact many people got inspired from trance

pioneers such x-dream hallucinogen, transwave, planet ben etc etc.,,,I am sure

these guys spend alot of time and effort in producing this album in their best

ability so greets to them for doing so !!! I wish they would come up with

something more original, but its still a very pleasing album and I give it

6/10 =]

tracks. and i dont know which one is missing.

best tracks (if my tracks are labelled correct) - On the Edge & Keep the

Frequency.

EXCELLENT, DETAILED REVIEW: The first track especially is very sexy, beautiful,

melodic, floating, and dreamy! The beginning of this album, has one of the

greatest, most beautiful beginnings to any Goa album in recent memory! The

singing, SINGING!!!, voices are powerful and awesome. It does not matter if

track 1 is shorter. The less there is of something beautiful, the more people

appreciate it. Track 2 (Assign 2) is awesome! Very, very banging, dark, and

powerful! Assign 2 is the most powerful and awesome track on the album and I

wish they had more tracks like the first four tracks, especially track 2! T3 -

Radio Station starts out awesome, as do most of the tracks on this album. The

orchestral build-up is brilliant! T4 is pure radio! We are given the full dose

of Zipper ripping X-Dream sounds, and it all works real well, even if it is

unoriginal. After track 4, things stay hard, full-on and dark, but they become

too monotonous. I love how the tracks start off...very quiet and interesting,

with atmospheric build-up and visual sounds, creating some really lush waves

of sound. Unfortunately, in several tracks, Future Prophecy's style is: add

layer after layer after layer, without ?really? altering the flow, rhythm and

direction. They don't change the flow and rhythm enough in some later tracks

that desperately need it, like the song does not evolve and remains repetitive

and boring, and therefore pointless. I agree that this album follows in the

foot-steps of X-DREAM - RADIO, and it works great at times. I would have loved

it if they had more layers of melody. When this album does have melody, it is

awesome and very well composed, but it is kept to a minimal as opposed to the

stomping beats. More melody would have added more depth and character.

Regarding many of the comments above about this and X-dream. I have several

thoughts of my own: First, it is possible that FP is imitating X-dream on

purpose, because they know people will buy FREAK if it is like the

ever-popular RADIO. Second, maybe FP does not want to be like X-dream, but

rather this albums purpose is to bring back the great X-dream stuff that

X-dream does not do anymore. Lastly, maybe they were extremely inspired by

X-dream, and that is why we hear the major influence in sound. People are

comparing both albums because both albums sound like one great originator, and

it was not Future Prophecy. The true problems, or rather gripes I have with

this album is that several of their later songs (like I said) do not have

enough melody. Also they do not evolve, go places, change, etc. FP's style

(and problems at times) is that they maintain a dark pulsating beat, and then

add layer after layer after layer, but it soon becomes one continuous loop,

with removed layers on and off through-out to keep it going. Their intensions

are great at first in the beginning, but the album becomes less grand the more

into it you get. The album rocks with track 2, and the super-cool and powerful

track 3+4, but it eventually becomes too repetitive and stale. Some tracks

would have been so much better if they had a climax, and while some tracks are

so great that they do not need a climax, other track could have used more work

with layers of (even dark) melody and or climax. Of course this album has some

extremely dark, driving, killer dance tracks, and that should be noted. I do

not care for Track 9, and this album would have ended more memorable if they

ended it with a beautiful, floating chill-dub or trance track like they did in

the beginning with "Work Of Art." In conclusion, this is a good, dark-night

dance album (with some excellent and powerful tracks) and I HOPE THAT their

next album HAS MORE extremely well created tracks like T2, T3, (T1 for

beginning & ending) and T4. Respectively in that order. I would rather have an

album by Future Prophecy with seven tracks if each one was awesome like T2,

(which must have taken a ton of time to complete!) as opposed to some great

tracks and some decent tracks. (like this album) Over all, when its good its

not great, its excellent. This is a good album and I am looking forward to

their next release. Hope they read what I wrote. Any comments are welcome.

-peace

I would like to precise that i really don't know this artist and this album is

the first i listened several times.

*01-Good introduction with nice voice and nice ambiance

*02-Bassline start firstly in a good progressive entering in rythmes and nice

sound in background, melody appear at 1:50, and this one is very technoish.

*03-The debut of the track is little boring, and after the break at 4:00 with

the man speaking on the radio station, appear several cool melodies after and

at 6:14, great.

*04-Cool minimal progressive track but little boring with rythms similar as

track 02, nothing really interesting in it.

*05-I don't like the bassline. Lot of acid sound.

*06-Ohh better bassline but track 2,4,5 and 6 are too much similar i think.

*07-Average track, tracks 2,4,5,6 and 7 are too much similar i think.

*08-We have to wait a long time to listen a interesting track as Keep The

Frequency which is very good.

Good debut track and at 3:00 (the best moment of the album) appear a good

trance melody with nice fresh sounds and very good bass line, it's great and

very mindblowing, best track of the album.

*09-Slower track with cool melody.

The whole album is a little minimal and boring in my opinion, the bassline are

often the same and too many track are similar. Best track are 2 and 8, but i

am very desapointed.

this is PURE SHIT. this is probably the worst cd i have ever heard. it's not

even "funny" bad, it's just bad. it's horrible. it sounds absolutely nothing

like x-dream. reasons why it is bad: 1)100% monotonous. the music doesn't

change or do anything. you can skip anywhere in a track and here the exactly

same thing. 2) there are a total of about 5 sound effects used throughout the

entire album, and most of them are really annoying. 3)there is not a single

track on this cd that i can listen to through it's entirety without switching

it off. 4)the samples and vocals make me want to vomit. especially the one on

"rock and roll ride." what the fuck kind of a name for a song is that? 5)there

are no redeeming qualities whatsoever. stay away from it! 0/10
