Guest Mascok
V/A - Demented Artist: Various Title: Demented Label: Twisted Date: 2000 Track listing: 01. 10'51" Hallucinogen : Mi Loony Um 02. 08'27" Shpongle : Divine Moments of Truth (Rmx) 03. 07'55" Trickster : Turquoise Mood 04. 07'57" Hallucinogen : Beautiful People (OTTS Mix) 05. 08'40" Tristan : Small Paper Squares 06. 06'05" Doof : Chemical Energy 07. 08'00" Prometheus : MK Ultra 08. 08'50" Younger Brother : Evil And Harm Review: New compilation from Twisted Records (UK). NEW SIMON TRACKS!!!. First Track is Simon Posford Goa Project - Hallucinogen!. great track, not like old times, but.. could it be bad? . lobe that melody in the start that start with classical guitar, then move to a low vol. electric sample. real nice for starting this compilation.. Second track is Simon Posford and Raja Ram's Ambient/Chill Out Project. this track called Divine Moments of Truth (RMX), which was originaly released on "Are You Shpongled?" (except of yeti(1), its the best chill out music out there, but i guess you all knew it already hehe.). this track (D.M.T), is one of my all time favorites. the remix is more groovy, with the regular bassdrum beat, same vocal singing, but faster. i personly, like the original "Divine Moments of Truth" track. 3rd Track is by Trickster called Turquoise Mood. nice track, kinda tribal. nothing else, except of that i liked the acid sample here. and the beat in the start. 4th Track is a beautiful track from Hallucinogen called Beautiful People (OTTS Mix). a lot of anergy in this track. more modern. listen to 5:20+, listen to that weird (vocal?) sample there. one of my favorites here. 5th Track is made by Tristan, called Small Paper Squares. a dark and scary, track. i love those techno drum(?) sample in the background (4:20+). nothing else. 6th Track is a NEW track from DOOF!!. called Chemical Energy. its more modern, and dark ans scary. not my favorite track here, but still its doof . 7th Track is a very weird track though its fucking rox!. made by Prometheus and called MK Ultra. reminds me old Hallucinogen (5:00+), you just gotta love that string!. 8th Track is a chill track from Younger Brother called Evil and Harm. one of the favorite tracks here. very beautiful, love those vocal samples. great drums, great bass, GREAT!. nice rock beat at 6:41+, Gotta love it hehe. my favorite track here. Well, not the best Compilation this year, but still there are some good tracks here and some bad ones. i would give it 7.3/10 ...
Guest swoop
yeah I can agree. It isn't a 100% hit comp but it's a reaallly good one. First hallucinogen track, dmt (Rmx) and especially the tristan track is my favourite ones. I give it 7.6/10 =)
Guest Cnt97
Yeap, nice compilation, one of the better compilations from Twisted I must say!. 7/10.
Guest Psylent Buddhi
Finally I got it, and as usual this is top-quality stuff from Twisted. On the other hand you'd expect nothing less though! Hallucinogen is amazing as usual! Mi-Looney-Um is a real killer, with a rather funny intro! The rest of the tracks are very good too! Especially Tristan's Small Paper Squares! No need to explain what that is all about... Fuck off psychedelia with a heave bassline! Ear candy and so is this hole compilation!!! Children
GOOD comp ! Best Tracks are Tracks 1,2,3,5 (I don't really like Tracks 6&7) ! Track 1 is very funny ... you'll immediately recognize Simon's style, but in this one you'll hear something only one Goa artist can dare try in a Track without loosing its quality : Simon Posford !!! He plays with modem And telephone bip-sounds (particularly between 6'54" and 7'30") !!!!!! And that's very funny !!! Absolutely not strange !!! Track 2, still by Simon Posford (& Raja Ram) is NOT an ambient Track !!! The original DMT is ambient, but this one is psytrance !!! And that's a very good one too (never heard the original version) ... Track 3 (partially made by Tristan) has some tribal sounds and is more rhythmic ... I was surprised by Track 4, cause it's Hallucinogen but I don't like it that much (maybe because it has been mixed) ... I find it a little boring ... Track 5 (Tristan again) is quite dark and very rhythmic too ... better than Track 3 ! Track 6 is quite boring and really finishes as if Nick Barber had forgotten to end his Track ... most of Track 7 melodies And vocals are too strange for me, sorry ... it's absolutely not like old Hallucinogen stuff !!! Track 8 (more ambient, by Prometheus And Hallucinogen) also has few tribal sounds in background and is a quite interesting one too ... Rating : 6.5/
Guest jsbedard
BAD COMPIL. DON'T BUY IT BECAUSE "IT'S SIMON!". YOU MUST BE INTELLIGENT AND LISTEN TO MUSIC INSTEAD SELL YOUR SOUL TO SIMON POSFORD. This compilation is a real mess of sound, no melodies and a bunch of filling-up tracks. The only good tracks are the 1 and 2. The others are pure shit. Twisted Records is really disapointing this time, with albums like Noosphere, Cypher and Demented. Oh my god what a disaster ! You should buy something else or GET IT IN MP3, you'll save your money. It's not psychedelic trance, it's fucking messy techno. 4/10 (3 for track 1 and 1 for track 2).

When I first heard it I melted..Track 1 is sooooo goood..HELL, THERE ALL GOOD! I LOVED Tristan.. Very dark track..DMT (Rmx) VERY good... I was like umm, and it was like a gigantic creature.. You'll understand that last line when you listen..
Guest jeffe[at]freesurf[dot]fr
Good compilation, Over the average.. Hallucinogen tracks are great But the last One is an ambiant hit...If you like shpongle you'll like this one too Me I don't find shpongle (Rmx) very interresting...7/
freak51
The Tristan and Younger Brother tracks are excellent, IMHO. I also enjoy Beautiful People. But the Doof track is awful, and the rest is ordinary. Still, the last five minutes of Small Paper Squares is so good I just about wet myself.

Guest Psylent Buddhi
The Doof track is hilarious, he can do much better than that! Chemichal Energy should never have hit the street!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Guest jsbedard
The worst compilation i've never buy !!! Since i've buy it, i have listened to it only 2 or 3 times. A true dust-collector. I cannot understand how people that review Goa can love tracks like "Chemical Energy", "Turquoise Mood" or "MK Ultra". Pure abominations...I've never tought that Twisted Records could release bad tracks like that. Damn wake up everyone !!!!! what's the matter ??? Guest ove.christensson[at]mobigym[dot]
very good comp, especially track nr 1,2 5 and 8. I'd never excpect the compil. to be such a rush. My advice, BUY! 7/
Guest [Anonymous]
I love posford and all the twisted crew but this sucks. basic rythms with strange samples...wow! where has all the complexity these guys used to dish out gone??? maybe they should lay opff the dmt and re-concentrate on the music. Guest AlexG
sorry you grumpy "true-goa" heads. goa or not, this is very good music. maybe not all tracks (i was actually kinda disappointed by doof track, and i dont like tristan track), but 1,2,3,4 for sure! miloonyum is so beautiful! turquoise mood is minimal, but so deep and intellegent. beautiful people is very powerful too. and that dmt remix: wow! i cant decide weather i like this one or the one on tip better: they're both so dope. tip-version is definately more morning sound, and this one is for the night. simon's bassline in this remix is so wicked! and that percussion is out of this world. so it's not the full-on, screaming, acid-drenched "goa" that was coming out in 96. it's called evolution: it happens all the time, that's why you are here today. come on, just listen to it! the sound is so powerful. simon is the master. truly listen to his songs: no, he hasn't "sold his soul"! he is, in fact, one of the only people left making real trance. Basilisk
Twisted is way ahead of the curve. Intelligent trance music.
Guest [Anonymous]
Overall a very nice compilation with great progressive styled simon tracks. To bad there are some filling-up tracks, like doof's Chemical Energy, a 100% pure crap track, sounds like its made in 5 minutes..even the title sucks Also the Tristan track isnt great, and the last track isnt goa but still very nice.If your a twisted fan then buy it... else think again. Guest Goa Spirit
o.K. i know this is late but i went for the tip party in new york yesterdeay,, with simon at the decks :-).. he played a lot of tracks from this compilation... you guys have to hear this stuff at a party with a good sound system... the highlight of the party was Mi Loony Um.. earlier i was a bit dissapointed with this album, but now my opinion has changed.. twisted records is always making that new sound!! i think tracks 1,3,4 and 5 are all great goa tracks.. this album is worth buying.. believe me.. don't follow bpm's to decide whether a track is good or not.. twisted is still one of the pure goa labels out there... Guest Ehsanur
Great comp! Better than Dementertainment, and the majority of the songs are great! What do you mean by "..but it's still Doof" ? The Doof-track is the downer here, so weak and emotionless. Doof is of the old generation, but been very very disappointing in the recent years (except his track on the Eclipse-comp)and just not fit for fight in this new millenium. Anyway, a very good twisted album. 9/10 (-1 for Doof) Can you dig it? Eshanti Brahman
Guest firgo
i think that mi loony um means millenium...the sound of simon postford for the new millenium.meanwhile...this comp.is very good.best r:1,2,3,4,5,7.that makes...8.7/10. simon...u r the best. Guest asmorod[at]shpongle[dot]com
I really like this compil but I don't really like Simon's Mi-loony... I hate that modem noize ( Shame on me !
Guest MG
It isn't anything remotely close to the first one, with which I was a little disappointed, but it does compliment very well the time we are in, if that makes sense! trance is a little more subtle in the sounds that capture your attention, more sort of groove orientated than melody compared to what it was a couple of years ago. I think what I like about minimal is the sounds are what give you the feel, not the melody as the old days used to, I like the trance of today rather than yesterday, all those ethnically inspired melodies could never hold my attention for more than two minutes, it would hit you like "Yeah" for the first two minutes but the rest of the song would just drag on... Not saying this is minimal but closer to minimal than the last comp, Which IMO was better.
Guest Jason - Los Angeles, CA
I like the Beautiful People voice samples. Really good song. Favorites are 1,2,4,5 and 7. The rest are nothing special.
seraph
Very good compilation....There are some not so good moments in it but overall is pretty good.Best tracks are 1,2,3,8. 7.5/
