in no particular order

1 - The Delta - As a Child I Could Walk on the Ceiling

2 - The Delta - Travelling at the Speed of Though

3 - Source Unknown - Blond Sexy Doped Babes

4 - Wizzy Noise - Oversexed Succobus

5 - Wizzy Noise - Twisted Love

6 - Shakta - Amazon

7 - Shakta - Next Stop Kawaguchi

1,2,4,5 - minimal but with a nice touch of nicely distorted metal-sounding riffs. very nice.

3 - pure minimal but very intense

6, 7 - pure progressive but so beautifully done that it feels just like melodic :)

what did you want me to tell him to listen to, Intact Instinct ?

As you may have noticed, kunfuka considers Atmos and Parasense minimal so he will probably consider Wizzy and Delta minimal too.

ps: nothing against Intact, but its not something i can honestly recommend :)))

everything by INTACT INSTINCT is great!!, it's as minimal as you can get and very trippy!

also try the AURICULAR album by SHIVA CHANDRA it's also very good!

Intact is indeed as minimal as you can get, but in my humble opinion it is actually more minimal than you can get and still be very interesting. They are good, but not as good as lets say Wizzy Noise.

if you want minimal then I suggest you avoid trance type music and head over to the detroit techno section fo the music shop...

but on the way check out the delta - send in...send back album.

hard to tell what they really want seeing as they are no longer with us...but at least it gave me a good excuse to take a quick look at my old vinyl....

Hello

We dont call that style "minimal" that much anymore - What you are looking for is "progressive" - Which is trance music with not that many sounds and layers - More focus on the progression in percussion, bassline etc than on the melodies, climaxes and riffs.

To get you started I suggest you checkout all the releases from Iboga Records - Check out the samples here http://www.psyshop.com/shop/CDs/ibo/ and find out what sounds you like the most and buy them.

To learn more about that sound, check out the compilations on the label and when you find a track by an artist you like do a search on the websites for other releases from that artist. (this way you can find similar labels and sounds)

This is the way I do it when I try to learn a new sound, and its very effective since the one who finds the music is you, and to you only your taste matters. Also, you are still exploring music for yourself, without other peoples definitions and limitations.

Best Wishes

Krell
