sorry guys but this is weird music , this isnt true old skool . i dont like.
im too harsh on this cause im a super goa freak , this compilation sounds fullon with the old goa touch.

one thing that i just did the other day that was really interesting was to actually load up an astrix track in cubase and check out when he would put breaks in or drop out the kick. I really cant stand his music but his track structure usually seems spot on. If you load up the track at the proper BPM its easy to see the flow of the track, where things change, where things repeat with the same parts.
the old school sound is defianetly linked with the phrygian mode. Thats probly the biggest thing is getting the sound of phrygian in your head. Also, try making a line in phrygian and jump some of the notes up an octave that are the main notes of the melody and concentrate on points in the scale with half steps.
I totally agree with the percussion comment too, the older tracks almost went out of their way to use different percussion sounds and certainly different patterns where modern stuff the percussion is as boring as can be.
sytrus can get you some nice pleiadians IFO type FM sounds. You should defianetly consider reaktor sessions as you can download a really good emulation of the SH101 and roland alpha juno, those were two pretty big old school synths, especially the SH.
One thing i also notice about older stuff is since it was new and people were coming from different backgrounds to make music alot of what defines the bigger artist sound is they are mostly useing totally different synths from one an other. today everyone knows what synths are "good" for psytrance so there seems to be less experimentation with synths that are not "good" for psytrance.
A good delay is also essential, since after the acid influence died off people still seemed to try to emulate the 303 type delay in general. Try the fruity BPM delay set to "3".
pleiadians fm sounds in subtractor are a piece of cake , and making goa melodies is even easier.

listen to a lot to the music style you want to produce and study and make notes about theorical stuff.
im about 5 years in goa producting and i still didnt figured all out.
about the fx , layers etc.. , its up to your imagination, but you will need LOTS of pratice and pratice and pratice and studying ...

I heard it. Silk Animal (Goa Garden Mix) you call it? This is much better than those two songs or samples I heard about two months ago from you; the earlier stuff I said was decent, but not bad,. This is much better, and I think with more time and energy you will only get even better, and better, and better!
Anyway, this is real goatrance, very uplifting but not fluffy. Its cool, very cool. I like what I've heard and I hope that all your tracks are as good if not better and as beautiful. Keep it imaginative and interesting and catchy! And don't be discouraged to add some signature "moves" things that kickass and really stand out and are inventive from you and only you, or to create moments (if even rare) of sheer surprise or climax that break-out into lots of insane layers and melodies!, (in stead of the same sounds before like so many artists seem to do) but its your style no one should try to tell you what to do of course.
Its nice to see that you're creating old-skool goatrance and its really cool. Your style has improved! Even my friend friend liked your teaser and said it sounds good. Keep it up! Make it really great!!! I look forward to this track, hopefully on a truly awesome comp or released on your debut album. However it comes, I'm looking forward to it more than before. Thanks for the sample! And yes, it fades in and out but I think thats just so we can sample parts of the song through-out, the final, mastered, released track won't sound like that and I hope everyone knows that.
AmithabaBuddha, just like Filteria's inspirations come from Pleiadians and I think several others. (but mainly Pleiads of course) I'm curious to know who you're most inspired by and several of your most favorite goa artists.

About beeing inspirated , well im inspirated by all kind of music , i listen to robert miles , enigma , kai tracid , melodic trance , ambient , pop ... ... and even ethnic arabic music! Im also inspirated by day by day situations and expressing my feelings on the music. I had some help tips by Michael (Psygone) and Ethereal (Frederik Hanglund) lately. I thank them for their patience and devotion. Now i had been im my "cocoon" exploring my techniques and giving it my touch.I´m sure every Goa fan will like my work and support it and i hope to satisfy those.

whats the matter of reason´s distinct sound?
if you used a tb303 ,a juno106 and a TR808 and 909 , every would knew you were using them! and so what? what it matters is the music you make with it! subtractor is awesome , subtractor have every kind of synthesis and just in one synth! if you think it limited , then you´re calling to the all synths "limited". i think you´d better explorer reason´s capacity cause it simply rox , and if it sounds reason , whats the problem? what it matters is the music you make on it.

the only thing i dig now in psytrance is psyambient specially those Ultimae records releases , very beautiful music for mind and spirit.
Psymoon : dont be expecting goa from those guys , im sure they dont have goa in the bodies anymore , maybe something interesting will come up , but goa? i dont believe in ghosts but maybe God could bless them again and who knows...

C'mon man, I really respect you work and unchanging love for goa, believe I feel the same, absolutely same, but you have to be more mature and accept other ideas changing. Maybe those people don't feel that way anymore, even though they did became a little bit fashionable but I am sure Simon won't dissapoint, Dado promised us the 'old' thing and Astral will make worse material for sure but they will still keep their sounds, I guarantee...Considering Pleiadians, I know the future unfortunately and I agree with you, and Infected, huh, they are gone in any case...So, have at least slight hopes my friend, it is always better to be optimistic than pessimistic...

hehe , im ok , but at least for me , i dont put my hope on those artists , im sure goa is far far far farrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr beyond their ideas and producing. im not expecting more good music from these groups thats all.

Very smooth, not to much like filteria so still enjoyable, and perfection... some waves with on the top psychedelic birds flying all over... safe...
the bass line is very good...not to hard but still motivating to take al walk in the forest... I like the dubbel kicks at 8th...

im listening to the extract , at least the compilation haves a good song that is worth to download in DC++ , the bassline is a little anooying , but the sequencing/construction is good and mythical , its not super but its nice.
