the tascam dm24, and dm3200 gives you 24 channels with the firewire card. Tascam fw-1884 is expandable (expansion units is called FE-8, and adds another 8 channels. Fw 1884 can be expanded up to 128 channels, but thats a lot of modules= a lot of money )

okay, thers's still some time before i get money to go shopping for, but know im not sure what to buy regarding to soundcard & controller. Here are the 3 otions im trying to decide from: 1. Tascam DM-24 Digital mixer with optional IF-FW firewire expansion (so the mixer works as one big audiocard, controller - and mixer) 2. Tascam FW-1884 with 2 FE-8's (extra channels modules) 3. Tascam US-2400 & Motu 828m2k In all three options i have the possibility of connecting my synth'n'stuff directly to the entrance (shortest path possible), and have hands on Also, its for studio use - not live use, so what would you choose?

I have a 10/10mbit connection. 10mbit down, and 10mbit up - but as i only have my music pc, wich is a stable workhorse for my productions, i wont let anything happen to it. So if someone sends me a pc, then i'll be willing to provide the fast connection - and believe me - its fast EDIT: Btw, my connection is unlimited. By that i mean, i can transfer as much data i like for the price i pay each month.

Hi mate! Buy a TC Powercore element or UAD card instead! You get top notch effects, and it wont use any cpu.
