Hi,
has anybody some experience with that synth ?
we have the vst V-Station and the sound is realy cool. the problem is that the fx section produces some crackle and noise when you turn it on.
anybody know if it is the same using the hardware K-Station ?
we looking forward to buy the hardware and so it would be nice to have a comparison between the vst and the hardware !
THX Schallusion
Hi Schallusion!
I own a Novation ks4, and the sound is 100% similar to the V-stations.
I have not had any problems like you describe, it just sounds great!
-
well, theres a lot of people selling the microQ 2ndhand & it isnt hard to find it, so go for monitors first.
-
is it still possible to buy a factory-new Micro-Q ?? if so then go for that, its an amazing synth
-
-
Do you know something about scales? it will help you a lot, believe me!!
Try to change a note fx in the end of every bar of the bass, & use some eq to give it some more boost
-
Waves
or if you mean the melody of the bass, then youll just have to play
-
-
-
Yeah, that would help a bit

hi,
okay mate, go to the mixer [F3] and find the vst that you want to effect, then klik on the little "e" there ya go, put effects on
To help get a better overview, theres a button on the far left wich looks like a midi-plug, press it & midi-tracks will disappear from the mixer & you will only see your vst-outputs/tracks, wich you can do inserts on/effects
thou can not put audio-effects on midi-data, but on audio tracks - you can
Hope you understand

By the way, after listening closer to the main beat (drums, kick) it doesnt feel like it have enough "power" what do you think i should do? Could it be to low, to centered (panning), the choice of used samples or something 4th??
-
Thanks for the welcome, and the info too.
Your track has alot of clarity. was wondering what in particular helped you to achieve such a clear sound? (apart from a good ear for it) :-)
im just getting to grips with learning to use compression and EQ'ing, was wondering how you went about compressing and eqing the track.. cheers. :-)
reflector
Well, if its the lead youre talking about i just tweaked the filterfreq on my novation ks4, it has a very clear sound as it is.
its updated once again now, and i have added another lead, made with V-station, check it out & tell what u think about it

Hey all, my first post here. Woo!
Glad I found you guys... As for this track, it sounds really great. I havent heard the newly processed version, but the original is still nice. Agree that the bassline needs a big more punch, EQ the hell out of it. What machines/software/softsynths did you use in the creation of this track mate?
mike
Hi Mike/Reflector, & welcome !!
For this track all drums & fx samples are found on the net - except the kick
SoftSynths used: Bassline > Z3ta+, Fx-a-like sound: Absynth 2
Hardwaresynths: Lead > Novation ks4 (very similar to V-station VST)
So the track is actually build up of completely nothing, but with loads of effects on
The old & new versions of the track are unfortunately the same file, i lost the old one by a mistake
-
Hmmm....i checked it earlier, & it worked fine, but im at work now, so ill check it when i get home (7:30AM)
btw, the tempo have been changed from 136 to 144bpm

I think you need a different kick. It's a bit too soft in my opinion and lacks a hard thump in the lower end of the frequency range. I do like the kick, but I think if you want more energy something with more of a mid range snap and low end thump would help. Nice snare sample too. I love natural acoustic sounding snares.
Hi, yes you were right about the kick, & it have been changed now, i will upload a new version right away so you can hear! The bassline is also different now, if its good or bad i dont know, but i have it the same way as you - i also get really frustrated about the sound of the bass
-
i'm sorry, i am not about to go all the sites through again, to find the sample, but off course you are welcome to look for yourself

Hey, thanks man!
The sample, it sounds nice but i have cut it up a bit.
Where you can get it??
I like to share, but that sample is my sound you know
Just kidding, i can give you a link collection, but i do not remeber wich site i found it on
-
yeah youre right, i'll just try & play around
-
Well I think its sounds great,
and i'm also familiar with the phenomenom when its suddenly sounds different...
happens all the time, you need to take it naturally =]
A little thing that may help is adding some sub frequencys to the kick, add another sample of kick to another channel and lo-pass it at around 90Hz (wherever you get your best resault) and play it together with the regular kick =]
cheers, and tell us how it got out ;]
hey good idea, thanks!!
Only worries i have left now is if i can "lift" the rest of the beat the same way
. It feels like everyone uses a lot of time & effets on hats, crashes & so on, but i cant seem to get my own to sound like i want them, any tips?
-
I have been working on this a couple of days ago & i was very happy with the result, but now it doesnt feel like the track contains the same energy as it had first, i hope you can give me some advises, i think its my bassline that migh be a liiiittle to low, but try & listen (its only a loop yet)
-
Cut OUT the tail I said, meaning that you of course don't want the part where the bars you used in the first place is playing, but only the tail of the reverb that comes after.
So you have say four bars of your track reversed.
Bounce those four bars thru an inserted reverb with only wet signal making sure you include the tail.....so maybe you bounce six bars or so dependent on how long tail you have.
Now reverse that recording, and it should be obvious to use only the first bars that contains the actual tail.
Sorry for being bad explaining....it's quite simple really but I guess I make it sound more complicated than it is.
Oh!!
I get it now, i thought you ment something like cut UP the tail , or i think i once did something similar a lot easier in protools, & i thought you were talking about something like that!
Nice effect by the way!
-
Right now i just i got home from newyears-evening/night/next morning & my ears are really wasted after beeing at the local psy-club most of the night, but once i get in the cubase-mood again, i will surely check it out (the vb-1 bass using 10 band eq)
Anyway, Happy new year to everyone, cheers from Denmark

Hi Visnu & welcome
You need some better software to make serious sound (not to offend any fl-users).
First, get logic, cubase or sonar or some similar advanced sequencer.
then you need to get the vst-instruments that can fullfill your expectations in synthesis sampling or whatever you might want.
I, myself, use cubase sx in rewire mode with reason.
reason is also amazing software.
