Can't make up my mind whether to go or not. I like quite a lot of non psy trance but not really a fan of the euphoric stuff, of which there seems to be a lot on this line up. Way out west are playing though who i love (and last i heard were breakbeat, not trance?), and i heard john 00 flemings sets are v good also (he had stuff like ace ventura on his last compilation so )
So, trusting the music taste on this board, i ask the question: should i go or not? And if I do, who shud i definately not miss?

The Zap! is a pretty damn awfully cheesy name for a project...
-
dint they split?
this stuff was all written before the split def gonna check it out
-
Yup, I went to universo paralello over last new year on my lonesome and i don't speak a word of portuguese but i still had an amazing time. I think psy trance festivals/parties are easier to go along to alone than parties of other genres of music because everyone there are on the whole soooo much friendlier and easier to make friends with. or perhaps just more likeminded that's been my experience anyway...

Busy or not, its almost June and still no results. I can see that the results are no real priority.
Yeah but to be fair Moni does this out of her own time and doesn't have to do all of it. Just be patient, they will come soon
-
Pendulum: the Infected Mushroom of drum 'n bass.
+1
Im so UNBELIEVEABLY pissed that glade festival, the festival that claims to be the UK representative of all things underground and electronic (and up until this year has proved to be so) has booked them as their headlining act this year
-
Very nicely put. Agree with system 7 100%. You need openmindedness in music otherwise it doesn't progress or evolve and remains being the same boring genre for years on end...
And i cant wait to see em live again in a couple of months

Hi all,
I'm big into my old school goa/psy and also dark psy. Recently I was introduced to progressive stuff, and even though it is a bit cheesey I'm really digging the electro and minimal stuff. I have borrowed a few cd's from Tribal Vision, Iboga and Blue Tunes from the '06-early '07 period and would like to find soem more stuff a long these lines, not just these labels but they need to be purchasable online. Any tips and links would be great, oh and I also really like the new Ticon and Tegma albums if you need ideas on style I like.

Just read some updates on the twisted facebook group:
1: The supporting act will be benji vaughn debuting his new downtempo project
2: There's definately gonna be an all night afterparty. Looks like its being organised by twisted as well. wooop Doesn't have any details on it yet though...

any good recent breaks you can recommend?
i havent bought any new breakbeat for a while actually. the plumps are still producing wicked stuff as always, also be sure to check hybrid if you havent already (my all time favourite breakbeat group and one of my all time favourite electronica acts)
also have a look through some of the artists on the glade festival´s breaksday line up. they always have lots of new and interesting artists playing there
-
You didn't look at the third last post on page 2. I have a few of the coils and find astral disaster to be the best. 15+ min. tracks are always good.
oops shit, sorry didnt see that post, you win haven't heard astral disaster, will have to check that one out too. i reeeeaally wanna hear time machines as well and see if all the hype lives up
Many of the coil albums actually bother me because they are really good but just too dark/creepy to play at get-togethers with friends into more-common chill.
that is very true, awesome music but definately only for solo listening. try listening to it on ketamine as well, and see how fast that sends you down a big, black hole
-
i heard some stuff off this.... and it sounded shit to be honest. too much nu metal for my liking. breakbeat is where its at nowadays, so much more interesting than dnb
-
I can't believe no ones mentioned Coil!!
Musick to play in the dark is one of the darkest, most spine chilling albums i have ever heard. I still have not managed to get through the whole album by myself after smoking a spliff
-
Pope of Gegga - Living in the past
hmmm, never heard of them. what kind of style?
-
Can't handle all those categories...
I'll just post my favorite:
Ace Ventura - Rebirth
haha, yeah its quite a lot isn't it. i was bored and did it more to get some cool new music recommendations so any contributions to the thread would go down very nicely
Anyway, i hate to say it but the ace ventura album has actually been wearing a bit thin on me lately... Not sure why, but just not enjoying some of the tracks as much as I used to Still love psychic experience, sao paulo, presence and the light though, but with those they don't seem to have the same effect on me anymore... Maybe it got overplayed a bit, or perhaps i need to see him live again to reinvigorate my taste
-
OMG the live video on their myspace for the random smiler is absolutely STUNNING!!!
Completely blown away, by far the best track i've heard from them so far, which album is it off?
-
their live set is out of this world
once you are in their its hard to come back out
please let me know how their glade stuff is
awesome. can't wait to see them. gonna be amazing on the immense soundsystem that glade always has
i also hope they get put on when its dark, because music like this really loses its effect (for me) when played in broad daylight. sadly, me donthinks its gonna happen... glade have already made the mistake of deciding to put the orb on during the middle of the day. wtfs up with that??!! ive had my orb cds for years and havent once listened to them during the day

I listened to these guys tunes on myspace a few days ago and indeed they do sound rather spectactular. I´m going to save buying the album until after I see them live at glade though, so I can know less what to expect from their live set
-

I wonder if itll hit any stores here in BA....
-
Awesome
Can you take that live set to glade this year pleeeease?

last update i read on telepathik was that it was supposed to be out in march...
however, normally a delayed release means they are working more on the album, which will hopefully mean it will be even better (either that or they fucked it all up!). rain doesn't seem like the type of producer to just release for the sake of releasing, im sure hes gonna wait until both albums are mindblowingly good.
has anyone caught any of his telepathik sets yet btw? what can we expect from this project of his?
