The song is good , i think what they meant about quality is it some sounds pierce the ears a bit around the frequency spectrum which it does , i'd say it's very around the mids and you will probably have to spend some money in monitor headphones/speakers .

i completely agree. i will certainly re- mix it next time i have the feel for it, and yup, i need flat studio monitors to hear it.
using a frequency analyzer to show it visually helps, but certainly not enough.
If i can also suggest i'd be more interested to hear something original
of course. this was just something that came to me completely random while drunk.and i decided to go with it basically cause of starkraver.But i have TONS of original material, just that none of it is even in alpha-stage...except ONE track. -
No advantage, not really. We will have a lengthy voting period where our members will listen to all the tracks and vote carefully.
Yeah but the members can already do that. So if they already picked out their 10 favorites of the 50 tracks, and I come and post mine on the last day - it seems most people will have already made up their mind on who to pick?
I personally think, that no songs should be avaliable to listen to - until the deadline.
This will give all tracks a genuinely equal chance on being voted on.
Hope yuo understand what I mean.

I hope to have a track to submit before the deadline, though given that I've been working on it for weeks already and it's still only a minute and a half long, it's not looking too hopeful.
heh. I have about 65+ tracks or so, thats only basically a climax loop.
Building a track, arranging, sequencing, putting Fx, all that noise, Ive only made it with ONE single track since i started playing around making music in 2001ish.
So yeah. I know what you mean. When was the deadline again, to post a song to soundcloud?
Is it better to post it sooner, i.e - do you have an advantage if you post early or late?
Or do that have nothing to do with the actual voting process.
I mean lets say there are 50 submissions, and at the last day, I post mine, do I still have an equal shot of making it.
Hope you understand my question, whoever wants to answer it.

crazy, how an artist with sooo many great old school tracks sold his soul.
when pleiadians did the same thing i almost wept.
but due to the hard work of draeke he came as an angel of light gettin max and co on the right track again.
at least he cast some divine spell on them since we had tetrahedron, live in athens, and soon 3 albums worth of old skool pleiadians. if it wasnt for draeke that never would have happened. he saved their souls
as for electric universe i give him a pass cause he has made som wicked awsome fullon without destroying his legacy.
shame i cant say the same for talamasca - his last decent album was zodiac and most other stuff on va's.
but having the audacity of calling this album Psychedelic Trance is just taking the piss on everyone who adored him back when he was great and REALLY made psychedelic trance.
Halloween, Telepathic Atmospheres, The Hunted Becomes The Hunter, Time Simulation, Why Not (most underrated talamasca track), Psychedelic Knights, Leo,
and thats just some of his album work.

Im pretty sure ive mentioned this before, but i dont see it in THIS thread so here goes,
another SOLID remix that is miles better than the original.
The acid climax and the female song when that happens, gooooooosebumbps! And I dont usually like fullon/twilight that much.
The epicness starts at about 05:20.
But im pretty sure Ive already claimed this track in another thread. My memory is like a goldfish. Seriously, its a medical condition due to my anxiety disorder.

If I decide to enter one of my old tracks, it's made in Impulse Tracker in 1999, on a Pentium 133MHz PC with a Sound Blaster 16. No EQs or compressors on other fancy effects anywhere. Mixed on an amp+speaker combo from the '70s I got for free. And it still sounds fucking great on my proper studio monitors, barely anything needs to be done to the mix.
So basically, ignore who you're "up against" and go for it.

But I get youre point exactly, and I agree. I dont have any excuses. But there is no sence in denying that having at least SOME equipment (like a pair of monitors) will at least give you a benefit rather than a disadvantage.

I mean, I get where you're coming from, but I'd say the most interesting music wins in a competition like this, not what has been produced by the most experienced people. I usually find music by newcomers more interesting than music coming from people who released 4 albums before.
Not saying production doesn't matter, certainly experience helps here like nothing else. But being unexperienced often means that you'll experiment more, and that's where the good stuff comes from.
No need to feel intimidated - depending on the perspective, you might even have an advantage!
I guess youre right. But still, having heard all your tracks youve posted, Im having a hard time accepting the fact that I would even be CONSIDERED to be in the same VA as you, imba or nova fractal.

Thank you brother, means alot. I hope you checked out the new version, its in the thread. Its the final version for now. Gonna take a break from that little project which just happened to occur out of pure randomness.
Music just like any other art should be presented to the people, i mean it's meant for people.
It's not contest for best remix so you don't have reason to be intimidated. Look at this as friendly contest! There will be plenty music in many various styles and many people have different tastes, who knows, maybe you end as no1?
Even if you don't win, or me, or anyone... at least people will hear our music, our love, passion, idea and for me that is a WIN already
Now shut up and post your track, and do it with pleasure!

Given that I got special permission just the other week to hear Nova Fractal - The Wheel Of Time, I mean, who can top that? Not even Artifact303 could, well, maybe he could, I dunno, but then he'd have to one-up his track Feelings, which I doubt is possible.

No. I don't agree. I think your track could be just as good as theirs (I don't even know who Nova Fractal and Vaesna are:)) POST YOUR TRACK NOW!

But yeah, ill try my best to do something for the contest, obviously.
I just meant, its intimitading to know which you are competeing against, people with studios, real equipment, at least monitors and soundinterfaces..
I dont wanna make excuses ppl can do great stuff with just headphones or computer speakers but heck, there is no need in denying that having a proper DAW (mine is from 2009, using ONE(1) CPU core, and I do not have a real audio interface nor do I have monitors.)
But that said, sure, Ill try my best

And dont you agree that Imba, Nova Fractal and Vaesna is Class AA+ producers, and it makes it a little intimidating for someone like me?

my fav part is probably the sad notes i finally hit,
and the part when the piano loop comes in with that Screeeeaching sound,
then an unexpected break, then all loops playing at once, on coming in after the other, and then bam, main melody.
For next update:
Strings, more "main melody" sampling, maybe some re-arranging, more mixing, more hihat patterns. When and if that day come. For now I hope you enjoy it, even though I hear errors here and there, alot of things bug me, doesnt necessairly mean you hear it the same way i do. So hopefully you'll like it.
Or it will be like 99.9% of my other work. On my sdcard playing in a pair of expensive plug-in headphones in poweramp and noone else hears it
Im gonna pause this project for now though, and begin either me and Padmapanis project, or the contest project. The contest project is obviously the biggest challenge, and to be honest, I dont think Ill make it. But who knows.

yeah, having this mix in full version (im betting its like 15min long) in cd quality would probably be my biggest dream come true when it comes to music because it's my favourite track of all tracks (tied with tangerine dream - love on a real train album version from Risky Business soundtrack, which will definitely play at my funeral) and I shall have it played at my funeral. the original that is.
but maybe a tweaked version because it's really the piano after the silence, and then the sad melodies after that, that people would maybe accept.
the intro and the extreme melody might make ppl uncomfortable..
anyway, yea, Starkraver, thanks, I'm definitely not stopping making that track.
atm I'm having major problems finding the right notes to the aforementioned beautiful and sad melodies of the original version.
seems very simple but it is for some reason hard as fuk.
I don't even know if the tunes are in a normal octave.
they could very well be off key in either direction purposefully. but I'll nail it.
if not, I'll have to ask padmapani for help cause that man can find notes for everything.
guess my ear isn't as tuned as i would want.
after that I'm gonna bring in the piano loop, which is already laid out in notes. those da da, da DA, da da da da da da.
haha. well those notes i found almost instantly... anyway its gonna be a long arse track when done!
and me and padmapani are working on a collab as well so I have to make time for that too. we aim to either release it freely or via neogoa or time warp or something, so high ambition there, at least on my part. since we only have had one turn each, and it allready sounds amazing, yeah i have big plans for it..
and now the contest!
phew I'm gonna have a lot to do, which is exactly what I need. and where there are clear goals when producing, it's a lot more fun and you're more open for inspiration. for example it can go years without me producing anything due to a feeling of lack of meaning or goal.
depression and all that.
anyway now I have three projects and I'm looking forward to all of them.

But to settle the score, Erez Eizen is a musical genious. I dont even have a clue what that other guy is doing.
Shiva Shidapu, Shidapu, I Zen, I mean, its basically all Erez.
He even plays some of the melodies on tracks like Symphonatic LIVE! And he has such a calm and cute face when doing it aswell. Like its nothing for him to play his arps on his Nord Lead.
So yeah, why is IM famous? Cause of Erez.
Why are they now POP? Cause of .. well.. I guess that other guy wanted money or something and Erez sold his soul?
