  1. Artist: Cabeiri Album: Self Insider Label: Altar Records Genre: Progressive PsyChill, PsyChill, Downtempo, Chillgressive 1.The Great Ocean - 07:03 2.The Bacchae - 07:03 3.Unknown Sources - 10:38 4.Matter's Morphology - 09:20 5.Night's Lair - 6:46 6.The Mythical Horse - 08:00 7.Self Insider - 07:23 8.Nothing to Fear - 07:58 9.Elliptical Orbit - 08:28 10.Eliconiades - 08:25 Three years after their album ''Inner Thought'', Cabeiri returns with their second album ''Self Insider''. Keeping the same soul of their previous work, the brothers duo Nickolas and Dimitris Vavalos offers a collection of tracks proposing a heavenly mood and deep dark downtempo groove. This time, the beat goes around 125 bpm! The result is an original twilight progressive chill ablum perfect to put the dancefloor on fire as much during the day as it does at night. Way more intense than we are used to hear from Cabeiri, this album is still profound, mystic and melodic. In a perfect mastery of light and shadow, ''Self Insider'' travels through a whole range of feeling and emotion. Really grounded in a warm bass spectrum, the listener is also invited to enter in to celestial layers of textures. The strength of the entire ablum is in how it brings the listener to experience the nighttime of the consciousness while keeping them in an epic adventure... Epic! This is a great word to descripe the album. Inspired by the Greek mythologies, the tracks exude the chant of the muses and of the gods. It's as if one is always feeling a heroic story unfolding in front of them. Track to track, we hear a mystical background chant leading the way as if a ritual was preparing. Like in ''The Bacchae'', in which a mythical lament develops a strange feeling of peace intertwined with sorrow. Or in ''Mythical Horse'', where a a crystaline femine voice shares the space with multi-layered spectra of warm bass and kicks. Or with ''The Great Ocean'', a sweet heartfelt ballad. Furthermore, this album develops a cohesive strucutre of profound enigmatic sounds while creating a floating structure that brings the listener up to the sky. As in ''Elliptical Orbit'', a slow progression in which darkish tones open the way to melodic and airy harmony. Or the track ''Nothing to Fear'', a deep journey through a psychedelic soundscape. In short, with ''Self Insider'', the Cabeiri brothers deliver again an original collection of tracks. Like no one else, they suceed to fuse deep dark downtempo vibrations with twilight construction. The first time that I listened to the album, I was not sure. A weird feeling of confusion trapped me. I was expecting an album in the same structure of their first ablum ''Inner Thought''. After a few tries, I let go of my expectations and really discovered the universe of this new album. I found it was a perfect compliment to ''Inner Thought'', but in a completely original way. Once again, Cabeiri has the merit to keep the soul of their music project going while developing it in an unexpecting dimension. This time, the owner of Altar Record, DJ Zen, asked nine of the most talented PsyChill artists to produce an exclusively imaginative album, one track for each of the artists to inspire the energy of the summer. Well-known names like Suduaya, Astropilot, Elea, E-Mantra and Alwoods share the soundscape with surprising composers such as Merlin, Sacral Reason and the original duo project of CJ Catalizer & Manmara known as Abiogenesis. This gathering offers a kaleiodscope of colors blowed by a warm wind of textures and vibrations. The energy is high! Whether it's under the zenith of the sun, or embraced by the touch of the moon, the music whispers the desire to fly in the sky. ::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: - - - ::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: Sacral Reason – Journey Through the Mind Upon his first meditative album ''Soul Splinter'' released in 2010, Anton Bakhtin, a.k.a Sacral Reason, always created enchanted melodies juggling raw instruments and electronic texture. With ''Journey Through the Mind'', he brings alive a sacred space of beauty. An airy introduction lead by a enigmatic chant that slowly develops in a complex psychill structure, seated on a moving bass line. Suduaya – Over the Edge As usual, Suduaya offers a pure masterpiece. Heavenly melody and spacey floating texture accompany by sparks of light, supported by deep massive vibrations. It feels so intense and so gentle at the same time : the encounter of the moon and the sun. Elea – Yãtrã With more than 650 live-acts around the world with 3 live formulas (Prog and Psytrance, Chillout and Ambient, Meditative and Healing), 5 albums, 4 maxi vinyls, 10 EP’s, more than 30 compilations … Elea does not need more introduction. This artist is recognized to propose shanti sound in an original fusion of dance culture and ancestral vibrations. With Yãtrã one is brought into a deep trance journey lead by hypnotical sitar lines and multi-layer of psychedelic notes. E-Mantra – Dance of the Fireflies ''Dance of the Fireflies'' continues the personal and unique signature of E-Mantra : a spatial environnement where simple but efficient notes, connecting the cell of our brain with the orbiting planets around our solar system. Merlin – Immortality After a surprising remix of the track ''Sun Trap'' from Alwoods, Merlin is now releasing his first original tune : ''Immortality''. Strongly inspired by the Alwoods universe, this track infuses an introspective feeling while keeping a rolling kick that puts the dance floor on fire. Beautiful! Alwoods – Blue Horizon Offering a strong kick structure, ''Blue Horizon'' plays with the infra-layer of our counsciousness. In a pure goa trance influence, it's a shamanic travel that Alwoods proposes to the listener. Gloomy vibes intertwines with squelchy sounds of insect and traditional native voices ... a dance floor killer. Astropilot – Stellar Night In the same vein from the tracks of his previous album ''Iriy'', Astropilot offers a crystalline ambiance grounded in a warm bass spectrum. A beautiful luminous melody that develops in chapters of variety, while keeping a homogenous and cohesive feelling of light and transcendence. A real orgasm that take its time to embrace the space. Abiogenesis (Cj Catalizer and Manmara) – Sun Birds Dance Shining layers of micro-melodies envelopped by simple but efficient psychedelic notes. Awesome introduction that prepares the listener to a heart-warming journey through an organic trancy country. Asura – Always ''LS Vintage Edit'' ''Always'' is an atmospeheric adventure that propose an epic melody filled with hope. In the same feeling of the tune ''Everlasting'', released on the Altar Records compilation ''Ether'', ''Always'' gives the desire to be lulled by the charm of the wind and slowly smile to the universe. Astropilot-Iriy

Artist: Astropilot Album: Iriy Label: Altar Records Genre: Progressive Psy-chill, Psy-chill, Downtempo, Ambiant 1.Gamayun – 11:35 2.The last nigth of Svarog – 11:29 3.Svarog's Morning – 9:27 4.Rod – 9:31 5.Makosh – 7:19 6.Svar-ga – 8:27 7.Veda (feat. Mikrokosmos) – 10:16 8.Back to Midgard-Earth – 12:56 Each time that I listen to a new Astropilot album, I always have the same reaction: ''Cheezzz … I did not know that he could create this kind of music.'' Album after album, Astropilot offers new unexpected ambiance in completely different universes. For me, he is one of the most diversified and original psychill artists. It is really hard to define Astropilot's genre. Offering a collection of tracks in which we find much space, and ambiance as deep shamanic trance tunes, not to mention a whole bunch of progressive and fast 4/4 kick structure tracks. Each album allows us to see a new surprising face from this artist. With ''Iriy'', it is in a deep trance adventure that we are invited. Each track proposes profound bass lines and groovy 4/4 kicks. It is dancy, but so floaty at the same time. Really intense, but smoochy on the other hand. The sound and the bass hits you in the chest while the shining melody opens your mouth and shows your teeth; a continuous presence of background choir, thus giving a heavenly feeling while keeping moving vibration. Overhall, each track proposes complex progressive structure that develops surprinsingly. As a dj, this album is becoming one of my masterpieces when I mix a deep trance set. Follow Iriy and enter in the dance with your heart opened and your eyes closed! ::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: – Gamayun – ''Gamayun'' opens the album really well. Three minutes of etherical and spacy introduction, offered within deep seated vibration. Slowly, the kick shows its nose in natural continuity with the begining. At six minutes everything begins … 4/4 beat structure, smooth background of airy voices and simple melody … beautiful progression. – The Last Night of Svarog – In an intimate ambiance, a track that develops in a pure simplicity. Everything moves, progresses, changes, but at the same time still in the same universe. A surprising deep track that brings you close to the dream. – Svarog's Morning – If the last tune prepared the listener to visit Morpheus, ''Svarog's Morning'' unfolds the daylight. Crystalline sounds intertwined with etherical and shining melody that has chapters of variety and flows well from segment to segment with good development. – Rod -- ''Rod'' is a hypnotical track that develops slowly a gentle melody. In the middle, a crash … everything collapses, to rebirth from the ashes. Heavenly choir accompagnies the journey of the simple but efficient notes. – Makosh – Such a beautiful track... No kick, no dancefloor. Beautiful introdution that recalls the crystaline universe of Icelandic musicians Bjork in her ''Vespertine'' period, Sigur Ros or even Jonsi. Soft bass line appears, you close your eyes and let yourself go in this introspective starlit universe. – Svar-ga – Celestial chants, sparkling sounds, rolling double kick… there we go! Complex tune with multi-layered spectra of warm bass and kick, micro-melodies and tonal motifs enveloped by organic rhythms and divine choir. The best track of the album. – Veda – This track compliments the album's cohesive feel. Less dancy, but still really grounded in a warm bass spectrum. This tune develops unexpected chapters of melody, bringing delicate lines of organic instruments with shining electronic texture. – Back to Midgard – The last track, the last moment to dance. ''Back to Midgard'' surrounds the listener in a deep groovy double kick intertwined with heavenly textures. It is a non-stop building of harmonic soundcape that brings the dance floor in a beautiful daydreaming! 4. Artist: Alwoods Album: Long Life Forest Label: Altar Records Genre: Progressive Psy-chill, Chillgressive Rain of Shooting Stars 110 bpm Spacequake 112 bpm Open Mind 115 bpm Space Radio Station 115 bpm Shadow of the Moon 125 bpm Enchanted Clearing 128 bpm Long Life Forest 115 bpm We Are Modern Shamans 115 bpm John Rigas (aka Alwoods) launches another bomb with Long Life Forest. As with his first masterpiece Aeolian Mode, this second album stays in the same progressive psychill universe : thick bass lines and a floating ambiance accompanied by a unique, strong, kick signature. Each tune offers deep seated vibrations while maintaining intense beats that set the dance floor on fire. Compared to Aeolian Mode, Long Life Forest is more grounded on the goa side of trance. Organic slithering and gloomy sounds, darkish shamanik feelings and, let's say, a less melodic structure then we are used to hearing with Alwoods. It is perhaps less melodic in one way, but it invites the listener to delve into the deepest layers of his consciousness. Long Life Forest proposes a shamanic experience. The entire track's flow creates a connection with our inner wildnerness and the night time of our soul. If these kind of moments are generally rejected because of their association with uncontrolled and unstructured pieces of our being, we can however see these experiences as possibilities to visit the unknown spaces that we usually avoid. Here, the tunes proposed by Alwoods are not organized around melodies that lead and accompany the listner from begining to end in logical sequence. Each track offers fractal moments in which our logic has to deal with sounds that don’t seem naturally linked to each other. Here is the essence of shamanism : it is all about reorganizing normal perceptions, jumping off the beaten path and leaving behind what’s taken for granted. Overall, it is letting ourselves leap into the unknown, away from our habits and our comfort zone, and allowing ourselves to reach something burried or not totally in place yet. If Long Life Forest is not as melodic as the other Alwoods's projects, the listener has a whole universe to experience through the adventure. More than just an album to listen to, it is an album to live. Light a candle and focus on the flame. When you will be totally immersed in this pure and paradoxical moment of simple creation and destruction, press play on your sound system and open the doors of perception! 5. Artist: Suduaya Album: Unity Label: Altar Records Genre: Downtempo, Psychill, Progressive Psychill 1.Suduaya & Irina Mikhailova – Sweetness 89BPM 2.By the Rain & Suduaya – Silent Awereness 88BPM 3.Zero Cult – Heartwork (Suduaya remix) 100 BPM 4.Unity 105 BPM 5.Green Beats – 80's Technology (Suduaya remix) 124 BPM 6.All is full of Light 93 BPM 7.Cabeiri – Voyager (Suduaya remix) 80 BPM 8.Empty your Mind (Feat. Amin) 81 BPM Unity is the new downtempo project from Suduaya. Since 2010, he already made two others albums, some EP and collaborations and one compilation. More over, he has been touring the world with his guitar to play live in the biggest and most famous festivals. The perfect words to describe Unity are light and intense. It is a morning downtempo album, but with deep presence of bass texture. This union between ethereal trancy texture with inviting deep seated vibrations is delicious. With or without a 4/4 beat structure, each track offers a cohesive, heart-moving feeling while at the same time keeping the intense frequencies grounded; it floats, really high, and simultaneously our legs feel gravity and stay on the ground. :::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::ॐ::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: I said the first words that comes in my mind were light and intense. ''Unity'' presents a bunch of luminous different tracks, all unique from each other. ''Sweetness'', in collaboration with Irina Mikhailova, introduce this shining intention right at the outset of the album really well. Floating guitar and crystalline/mushy sounds intertwined in a deep, smooth bass line, all lead by the mystic voice of Irina. Same thing with ''Silent Awareness'', but in proposing more intensity throughout the bass line. It's an original track that has diverse chapters and they flow well from segment to segment with good development and progression, smoothly introducing gentle sounds of guitars and keyboards sprinkled here and there. The track develops more intensity while keeping it's shining structure. Enigmatic chant and guitar lead the way until the middle when aggressive slow kick and vibrations appear. Aggressive kick and bass line—we have to remember that Suduaya is also steeped in the progressive trance tradition. Track like ''80's Technology'', a remix from Green Beats, present this face. It is a hypnotic progressive tune running at 125 bpm and offers a psychedelic structure intertwined with piano and guitar sounds. On their side, ''Heartwork'' and Unity, while proposing this progressive trance structure, remain in the downtempo ambiance. ''Unity'' ... such an awesome track! Starting aggressively with a deep kick accompanied with loud bass frequencies. The more the track progresses the more you feel an intense feeling of light subsumes the universe. Light, light, light and then comes the masterpiece: ''All is Full of Light''—a constant evolution up to the heavens! At each step you think that the climax is reached, that you cannot go further in the movement. But the next part brings another layer, and then again and again. ''The light is all around you''—these simple lyrics lead the way until the end. The album finishes with two deeper tracks: ''Voyager'', a remix from Cabeiri, and ''Empty your Mind'', a collaboration with Amin. The remix of ''Voyager'' is not really different from the original one; same structure, same ambiance but Suduaya brings his guitar touch, which allows the track to travel higher in the space. Finally, ''Empty your Mind'' can recall the universe of ''Silent Awareness''. Same airy downtempo vibrations, original evolution and crystalline sounds. But if ''Silent Awareness'' is more yin, ''Empty your Mind'' is more yang, deeply rooted in a deep shamanik ambiance lead by a male chant. Awesome album ending! :::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::ॐ::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: Unity builds an original way to present a downtempo album. It is a beautiful combination of mysticism and grounded construction, not to mention awesome home made guitar lines signed by Suduaya. The light is everywhere in this album … Airy feeling, soul-moving atmosphere … A big smile to the universe! A must have in your discography. 6. Artist: Reasonandu Album: Imminent Satori Label: Altar Records Genre: Downtempo, Ambiant, Psybient, Psychill, ''Imminent Satori'' is the first solo album from Reasonandu. He was already known for his psy-trance project Eulysin, made in collaboration with E-Mantra, and his work with Adrian Enescu, a former member of the worldwide acclaimed and award-winning act Enigma. With ''Imminent Satori'', Reasonandu gives birth to a heart-warming album of airy mystic chants, luminous melodies, organic instruments and downtempo building. Recalling influences of ''enigmatic music'' from the early 90's New-Age movement, inspired by E-Mantra's melodies and track structure, this album offers an original meeting between soul moving intention and the psychedelic universe; a unique, inspiring and mature spiritual trance album! ::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: The adventure begins with a delicate track in collaboration with the singer Cosmin Culea. ''Seven Lives'' is an intimate tune presented throughout a simple trip-hop structure lead by the deep and floating voice of Cosmin Culea. For it's part, the second track ''Above'' brings the listener to experience a gloomy construction of sounds intertwined within different layers of psychedelic texture; a chant is still present, but it's an enigmatic one that leaves a strange feeling of confusion. This confusion disapears fast with the entrance of ''Peacefull heart'': a heart-moving track awesomely made in a collaboration with Adrian Enescu. Beautiful smiley chants, organic mood and gentle beats offered within a melodic shinning ambiance and crystalines sounds. If there is a Satori to have in this album, it is within this tune. In the same vein, ''Return of the Prodigal Son'' maintains a positive and sunny mood while proposing a more smooth and relaxed structure. It's a comfy lullaby to whistle slowly before going to sleep. I was speaking about an original mix between spiritual intention and the psychedelic universe. ''Gliese'' is a good example of what I mean. Deep and spacy layers of psychedelic composition embedded with enigmaticals and floating voices. We quickly realise the influence of E-Mantra with this track. The sixth track ''Imminent Satori'', has chapters of variety and flows well from segment to segment with good development and progression. A little highlight in the middle with a sudden surge of an unexpected chant and after it disappears like nothing happened – a surprising and original tune. With ''Nocturna'', Reasonandu reconfirms the album's cohesive intention to offer a spiritual trance selection of music. A tender tune lead by a gentle tribal drum and a subtle male hymn evolving througout a warm progression until the end. All in simplicity and pure beauty! For it's own part, the next track ''Mimas'' is really less original than all the others tracks and leaves an after taste of repetition and simplisitic development. Luckily, the following tune, the beautiful ''Solaris'' shows up and helps the listener to find the path again. Recalling the composition of ''Peacefull Heart'' and ''Nocturna'', ''Solaris'' develops a relaxed intensity which travels in a gentle positive melody inviting the listener to close their eyes and smile to the universe. Again, an awesome chant that sticks in the head forever. The next track carries the listener into a surprising evolution: ''Sibly's Vision'' builds slowly in intensity throughout the whole sequence. The first third of the tune prepares the table; simple beats, floating melodies and the voice appears calmly but now accompanied by shamanics percussions and a repetitive voice in loop. A deep and mystical experience awesomely made. The last two tracks present an important psychedelic side, at least more than the others. ''Moonwalker'' is a remix from E-Mantra. Reasonandu keeps the cosmic and spacey layer of enveloping deep sounds, juggling between repetition and slow progression, all reference to E-Mantra. But he puts more light and more beat into it than the original mix. For it's part, ''Rana'' is a 4-4 kick composition and slowly progresses in a simple flow of introspectives psychedelics harmonies and vibrations. Peaceful Heart A heart-warming track awesomely made in a collaboration between Reasonandu and Adrian Enescu (a former member of the worldwide acclaimed and award-winning act ''Enigma''). Beautiful chants, organic mood and gentle beats offered within melodic texture and crystalines sounds. This track just makes me want to dance alone, eye closed, and smile to the universe. Moonflower Well-known for his implication in the German online radio ''Chromanova'' as the presenter of the programme named ''Chill-on'', Dense is recognized to produce warm and positive energetic tracks while always offering a relaxed mood. ''Moonflower'' does not make a exception! Unity An agressive chill-out tune built around a 90 beat per minute psy-trance kick. Agressive I said, but at the same time presenting a luminous progression of a sunny background melody. A perfect union between a shining downtempo ambiance and a progressive trance construction. Dziva As usual, Astropilot presents a complex and mature track juggling diverse intensity, instruments and feeling. Between the earth and the sky, remodeling the Yin and the Yang, Dziva presents a floating spiritual journey that leads into an introspective shamanic adventure. Lost Knowledge With ''Lost Knowledge'', one is brought into a darker mood while going deeper and deeper into the unknown vistas of consciousness. A well made tune built with the loving subtlety Cabeiri is known to offer. Serankua Lab's Cloud is not known to make progressive psychill 4/4 time tunes. With ''Serankua'', be ready to groove. A simple melody evolving through sunny and atmospheric sound within a deep and uptlifting structure. An awesome tune in a soft and sensual ambiance that gives the desire to move and laugh. Le Souffle du Vent Le Souffle du Vent....in english: The Wind's Blowing. A perfect name for this non-stop uplifting track in which the listener experiences a continous build up of intensity and beauty. The wind blows hard, and it keep going and going with an energetic, positive texture of sounds until the very end. Solar Cycle 24 An intense and fast progressive trance track. As usual, Akshan proposes a marvelous refreshing track in a tribal and spiritual vein; complex beat structure, surprising evolution and an astounding conclusion. A chill dynamic track supported by tribal drums, flutes and chants within a perfect blend of sacred feeling that's energeticly mind blowing. A Touch by Wind Between a classic progressive house structure, upliting trance and chill ambiance, Sangeet built an original track that will put the dance floor on fire. 8. Artist: Akshan Album: The Rise Of Atlantis Label: Altar Records Genre: Chillgressive, Psy-Chill, Progressive Psy-Chill The Rise Of Atlantis 3:24 Antinea's Secret 8:53 Shadows And Lights 10:20 Orichalcum 8:17 Gates Of Heaven 10:32 Journey To Persia 9:52 East West 9:27 Pillars Of Hercules 9:39 Calling The Ancients 9:08 It was with the coming of his first album “Tree of Life” that Akshan became one of the main reps of what we now call Progressive Psy-Chill and Chillgressive music. Even with GMO, Dense, Lemonchill, Alwoods and Solar Fields all categorized within this genre, Akshan filled a gap. From that floating feeling and morning melody vibe to the more introspective and expansive sensation of spirituality, everything that constitutes the Psy-Chill universe is present in his flow. In the same time, he gives us rolling beats mixed with aggressive bass lines and fast kicks evolving into a more structured climax, the kind that makes up the more progressive side of trance music. I was expecting a lot to come out of a second album because for me nothing better had been made under this genre. But I was wrong... “The Rise of Atlantis” showed up! Akshan has surely pushed the limits with his second album. He has showed us what we can do within the chill universe when we tune in and travel on the progressive level. Similar to the first album, Akshan presents beautifully unexpected shining tracks, those which leave us with a persistent sense of sunshine on the skin. Both albums use sacred chants, tribal drums and flute. These mixed elements create an organic, intuitive and spiritual feeling. Tribal ambiance dominates “Tree of Life”, which is then balanced out by overwhelming sensations of love, emotion, sacred intention and spiritual transcendence offered up by “The Rise of Atlantis”. Again, this is a truly awesome gathering of tunes created by Akshan. My favorite psychill album ever! Favorite Tracks The Rise Of Atlantis 3:24 of soundscapes that gently develop intense feelings of love, gratitude and beauty. The graceful flute notes lead the tune in as it slowly builds in intensity balanced by soft morning sounds and finally reaching a crescendo of profound female chants. This awesome album introduction is like the first brick laid at the ground level of a foundation. This introduction announces what will be offered by a whole album whose sacred and spiritual mood will guide the listener to experience the transcendental. Gates Of Heaven This is the most awesome track I have ever heard. This tune resume what we can call spiritual trance. It gives us that pure transcendental feeling. In this track we are held by a simple melody that is surrounded by many layers of bright sounds, tribal drums and sacred chants that paint a truly psychedelic texture. Everything is presented cohesively in this well made track rolling throughout well made ping – pong delay and gater effect. Journey To Persia Similar to “Gates of Heaven”, this track has a multiplicity of diverse arrangements which evolve from a simple melody into a complex universe of sounds. If,“Gates of Heaven” is more a YIN track than it can be said that “Journey to Persia” is certainly more YANG. The middle of the tune gives one the feeling of preparation to fight. Then comes the DROP! Here, the gentle and emotional violin melody meshes with waves of sound that pull the listener into a sphere of higher consciousness. East West If I said that the previous tracks are spiritual, sacred and intentional, than “East West” brings us mystic vibrations! The beginning to middle of this track is simplistic. There is nothing exceptional here to compare to the other tracks on the album. However, the latter part of the tune slowly progresses, albeit subtly, and brings you into an unexpectedly joyful mood. The highlight point is at 6:42 when the tone changes. Quickly, more and more layers of sound appear and then blast you with a little 10 second intone, afterwards ending as if nothing had happened. Nice feeling of... what the...? Pillars Of Hercule An awesome crystaline introduction rocked by a simple chant. A soft rolling bass kick develops the beginning of this track to allow the evolution of this tribal morning melody. The ending is supported by female and male incantations . This original track is one in which you will travel a lot! 9. Artist: E-Mantra Album: The Hermit's Sanctuary Label: Altar Records Genre: Ambiant, Psy-chill, Downtempo Between Two Worlds : The Boatman 7:25 The Hermit's Sanctuary part I - Medidate 6:54 The Hermit's Sanctuary part II - Sleep 7:05 The Hermit's Sanctuary part III - Requiem 5:58 Howls from the Deep 6:48 Daydream 6:27 Pheromone 6:54 Harmonic Waves (re-edit) 6:13 Nocturne 7:29 Lonely Sorrow 7:25 I was listening to this album with my brother in his car. As soon as the first track begun, he told me : « It sounds like music for a movie. » As an ambiant music fan and dj, I've heard this sentence several times. Usually it bothers me. But this time, I completly agree with my bro. When you listen to the entire album The Hermit's Sanctuary, in the proper order, you find the same structure as a story: an introduction, a development, a crash and an ending. There is a global ambiance progressing throughout the albums sequence. While listening to the album, one easily gets into the tale that E-Mantra builds for the listener to experience. Each track has a place, and a good place. :::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::ॐ::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: As soon as the first track starts one can feel the tale slowly begin. With Between Two Worlds: The Boatman, we start at the beginning of the journey. An atmospheric track, without any beat, which slowly presents dark waves of sound. A creepy track in which one can feel oneself in a old haunted boat moving and rolling in the fog of a rainy night. Next, we travel with Meditate, Sleep and Requiem, the three parts of the track The Hermit's Sanctuary. Begining with birds and ocean wave sounds, Meditate gently evolves through a soft piano melody of an early morning sunny day on the sea. With Sleep, it's kind of the same structure, presenting shining, soft and relaxed sounds. This track progress throughout with a catchy simple loop that stays in your head forever. Finally, Requiem installs the beat. After a beautiful short atmospheric introduction, a mellow kick starts the track. It's an awesome tune that progress and transforms in an original way. My favorite track of the album! After Howls from the Deep, wich bring us into the lower layer of our consciousness, the album softly installs a psy-chill universe. Daydream proposes a chill psychedlic texture lead with a deep kick. With Pheromone, my second favorite track of the album, the kick is still there, but way more intense. In a 80 BPM tempo, this track offers a marvelous spiritual melody build around soft and bouncing psychedelic sounds; a deep spiritual track that reminds me of the style of the first E-Mantra ablum Visions from the Past. Harmonic Waves is a faster track. With a catchy spacey loop, this tune makes its way into a psychedelic trip-hop texture. Just after, Nocturne builds a shining melodic adventure accompanied by a constant mellow kick. Kind of the same structure as Pheromone, but less intense and more luminous. Finally, Lonely Sorrow closes the journey. Like Beetween Two Worlds: The Boatman, this one presents atmospheric and floating waves of sound. No beat, no loop. It is a deep track, but it's not a creepy track. If with the first tune Between Two Worlds: The Boatman, we feel ourselves being trapped by shadow forces, Lonely Sorrow presents the key, the one to find our way through the shadow and find The Hermit's Sanctuary. ::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::ॐ:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: I've listened to many ambiant, chill, atmospheric music albums in my life. To be honest, it's really rare that I don't skip a track or two when I listen to a whole album beginning to end. But with The Hermit's Sanctuary, I press play, I close my eyes, and let myself go into a whole journey of sounds, images and feelings. For sure, this E-Mantra album is an ambiant album. Without a doubt, it creates an ambiance that you can follow like a movie. Get on the boat and live the adventure of The Hermit's Sanctuary! Each track inspires images and pictures. Each tune stimulates memories and desires. Take your seat my friends, I'm going to tell you the story of Ether…. Astropilot Feat. Chronos - Expectations 8:30 I open my eyes to the new morning. I feel the day caressing my face, I taste the life taking place in me. Slowly, I become conscious, I am awake, I am alive. Suddenly, I realize that I had always been waiting, always wishing. In truth, I realize that all my Expectations depend only of me. Flooting Grooves - Toward The Light 9:24 I begin to walk, I perceive the sky trying to speak to me. Lightly, I start to move, I begin to really move forwards. I take my feet and I go towards my life, I raise my hands towards the sky, I raise my heart Towards the light. Mr Peculiar Feat. Athena Etana- Ancient Tribes 8:00 I look around me. Nothing........so far! Gently, softly, you touch my body. Lightly and slowly, you introduce your breath in my chest. My head starts to turn, my eyes to see. My person, my own self that I am used to calling me, myself or I, is just the result of something way bigger, way older. I am the result of the Ancients tribes. Astropilot – Answers 7:21 Finally, I’m found. At last, I discover..... I have the Answer! I am not alone, and I never have been. At each second I am connected with everything. The past, the present ant the future The flowers, the animals and the soil. At each minute, at each hour, I am the Answers. Tentura – Free Your Mind 7:16 Questions disappear as answers appear leaving no doubt leaving no fear. A new energy is fulfilling me, a new power is introduced into my veins. A new way to think, a new way to touch, a new way to perceive, A new way is taking root in my humanity. My Mind is free now. Distant System – Astral Map Error 8:00 In this space, I make my way. I go further, deeper, higher. I am not scared to break the wall, to divide the truth from false, to take apart the Astral map error. E-Mantra – Emptiness 8:11 Underneath the water, within the sea.... In this Emptiness, in this submarine layer of consciousness I am making my place. I lay down on my past, let my thoughts go and enjoy the waves. Little sparks of sun are reaching me. Moving rays of light are fulfilling my being. In this Emptiness, I feel home. Shakri – Love and Devotion 5:52 What is the love? Loving another being or being loved by one other? Before being a state of mind, especially before being an object, love is an action, an attitude towards ourselves and the world. Love is about giving our person, giving our humanity to participate in a universal harmony of beauty. Love is about devotion. Lab's Cloud – Winds Fairy 6:29 In the middle of this field, the wind is flying through the grass. The late sunset is caressing the flowers and the day is floating away, once again. The air is fresh, the clouds are smiling. Gently, I let my fingers hover freely through the herb, like a little kid trying to catch the Wind of fairy. Asura – Everlasting 9:18 Softly, the universe has been created. Gently, the light took the place of darkness. Lightly, the life made it’s way through the divine. Suddenly, in a big bang, all creation has been spread in an ethereal vibration of love and compassion. Ether, an Everlasting kiss to our soul. 11. Artist: GMO vs. Dense Album: Tales From The Yellow Kangaroo Label: Altar Records Looking Out Of The Pouch 7:46 The First Steps 7:50 Passing Storm 11:21 Sounds And Smells 8:22 The Great Puzzle 9:44 The Termination Of Life? 9:07 Bouncing Around 7:03 The Law Of God 9:33 Another View 7:57 ::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::ॐ:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: ''Tales From The Yellow Kangaroo'' is the second chillgressive album on Altar Records by Olaf Gretzmacher (GMO) and Christian Schoeps (Dense). Within nine tracks, they are offering us a chill universe evolving within progressive beats and textures. Throughout a continuous down tempo ambiance, the album presents more intensity and rhythm from tune to tune, slowly developing in much passionate sonority. This album is particularly chill given its progressive style. In comparison with others down tempo records such as ''Tree of life'' by Akshan, ''Aeolian Mode'' by Alwoods (both released on Altar records) or even to their previous album entitled "Through Other Glasses", it is a bit less uplifting as we're used to hear in the small and intimate world of progressive psychill. Except for a few tracks, most of the album remains deep and rarely leaves the downtempo shore of psychill land. On the other hand, GMO and DENSE completely succeed in offering us a chillgressive album which evolves and keeps a mellow and profound background. Favorites Tracks Looking Out Of The Pouch With a sweet and relaxing introduction, this track develops into a beautiful and simple progressive melody with birds sounds and chill organic guitar sonorities within a 80 bpm universe. Beautiful tune! Bouncing Around A two section tune presenting an growing chill introduction and rapidly progressing with a beautiful shining melody. A smooth and fancy appetizer after indulging a satisfying and fulfilling main course. 8.The Law Of God A similar progression structure of “Bouncing around''. Very nice guitar melodies which develops into several layers of sound creating an harmonious whole. A larger smile appears on my face as my favorite track spins on. ::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::ॐ:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: Very beautiful album. More chill than uplifting, yet another epic chillgressive adventure given by GMO and DENSE on Altar Records.
