    Whenever I am with girl that doesn't like trance or electronic music in general I play her Plastikman first. All those seductive, psychedelic ambience meows get at them, then I switch to some early Speedy J, while he was still making trance, slowly developing towards old school trance like Earth Nation, Cygnus X, Art of Trance. Girls gets easily hooked when you play them something melodic and sophisticated. I would never want to convert some girl into psy unless she wants to cause that music is only for certain states of mind. Old school Goa Trance is the next level if she gets hooked onto previous stuff. :D

    no doubt i got an old way out west mix disc called e-scension

    I think I have actually found an ALBUM that applies to all the above!

     

    Darshan - Awakening (1998)

     

    Its dark, its goa, its full on, its trance, its morning, its night, very high tripping score, melodic and melancholic, uplifting, big intros, climaxes and outros. Nearly every track applies IMO. :)

    i agree but its such a slow pace

     

    im more agressive and like it harder so i would have to counter that with..

    It must be a track that is both Old School (Goa sound) but also has a modern touch.

    It must be a track that is both Morning and Dark if possible.

    It must be a track that is both for the mind (tripping) and body (dancing).

    It must be a track that is psyshedelic in both melodic mayhem (Goa style) and FX mayhem (new style).

    It must be a track with a big intro, climaxes, start-stops, classic samples and big outro. (classic Psy signatures).

     

    Astral Projection - Enlightened Evolution

     

    Old School, but a very modern touch to it. Its dark and melancholic, yet very uplifting. Makes you dance like a motherfucker on the dance floor. Is surely very psychedelic (tried it on both lsd and shrooms hehe). Does not have that long intro and the outro and break really, but still classifes! :) What do you think Ormion?

    Ok here are a few..

     

    Etnica - Juggling alchemists under the blacklight. (thanks to technosomy for introducing me to this one). But yes when I pick it up.. look at it, hold it.. play it.. and furthermore listen to it.. feels so wonderful.

     

    X-Dream - We created our own happiness (Thanks to my friend tom IRL who owned it and told me it was good). But yes ill never forget when i heard the distinct difference in rough and rushes basslines, and how this disc was just put together with nothing but love and care. Straight up thanksgiving dinner with the family.

     

    Time Re:Evolution 2 V/A Flying Rhino (Thanks to www.planetxusa.com for selling psy within the US and saying this set was sick). Yeap when i first heard disc 3 i was like no fucking way. I immediatly searched psytrance on the internet and found psyshop.. thank you planetx :)

     

    Astral Projection - Another world (Thanks to this web site for having th highlighted classics. Without it somone so far from the action would have known jack shit). Ill never forget where I was, the weather, time of day and even how i felt when I heard Nilaya for the first time. That track is still as fresh as ever. I plan on naming my daughter Nilaya.

     

    Infected mushroom - the gathering (Again thanks to psynews). No doubt these guys are rediculously talented and make great music.. it stopped at the gathering for me. These are some alien sounds i just love to listen to.

     

    so whats yours? truely mean the discs you pick.. alot can be special but it has to be those that touch you..

    I was talking about the Album TEN, that was the last Astral album, not the album amen which was released 2002. Amen aktaully isn´t fullon, right and I said the album was listenable but Ten IMO wasn´t and isn´t listenable at all., Ten is fullon, Amen isn´t. And you protected Astral Projection, you said they still make it etc but why do you say that if you don´t liek fullon, astral are producing fullon lately.

    if you listen to SFX up to open society you can hear how they slowly slipped away but they havent completely slipped, and even if they have they are still in a class of their own ARE THEY NOT?

     

    full on is a mold, astral meets no mold therefore not full on.

     

    dont disagree with me, its alot easier :)

    Lo Bu, you can´t tell that Asral Projection are still doing it, for me they never really did it except a few masterpeaces which are almost untoiuchable, ok, the older trust in trance albums and most tracks of Astral Files were only masterpeaces but dancing galaxy was a huge dissapointment, one of their best works is surely Another world IMO but the new fullon from them is just horrible. If you don´t think so why did you open the thread?

    were going to get a few things straight right now.

    You can't count them. They are all money whores!!!! :angry:

    because i dont feel like killing you, ill let it slide you put whore and astral projection in the same sentence

     

    fact of the matter is there comes a time when everyone has to grow up somewhat and you also have to eat and be taken serious and a little money never hurt.

     

    think about what you do best in life.. a level so good it demands a little cashflow.

    I don´t talk about Amen which was a nice album with nice analogue like kicks and basslines and even goaish tracks like The Nexus or Chaos.

    no you should talk about it, amen was tight you know it as well as i. astral will always be the masters.. even if amen wasnt what we hoped for they still do it a cut above the rest so they get the respect they deserve.

    that has nothing to do with it, you know taste. I still dont like a lot what you do and vice versa :) Constructive critizism is the keyword here, not being an asshole and a prick about other peoples taste. I KNOW you can do better than what you wrote above! :)

    i agree, i honestly liked amen alot

     

    open society the myspace version is hot but i cant get into repeated listens. the prophcy is nice but i hope it changes a bit. i have no doubt they will deliver with the new album. im just tired of waiting for the new astral album

     

    seriously considering tracking down them at the studio and standing outside to listen because i cant take it. i know im not alone on that either :)

    Astral Projection - Ten is one of the shittiest albums ever produced since it is possible to record on tapes and discs, it´s one of the apsolutely shittiest music I have ever heard, the worst poptrack like "Relax take it easy" which is jsut gross is better than this shit.

    and buzzman recommend some full on thats tight then..

     

    the latest wizy noise is ok but even that you cant tell the difference between track 2 thru 8

    Yeap so if your like me your parnter doesnt like goa. kelly loves chill but she cant stand the INSE INSE INSE INSE

     

    So i made up this idea.. a cup and we write ten things we want from each other on them and take a pull every week. I happened to put she gets behind the decks and mixes up a goa session for me, and she happened to put no goa for 24 hours. Thats going to be hell.

     

    Anyways what do you do to try and get your partner into goa if they arent?

     

    making her tracks and mixes are out.. tried to many times :P

    First of all this must be in the General section.

    Second, it's not full on's fault that crappy artists(?) producing this kind of psy.

    If Goa was the most known genre today then all of those wannabe artists would write Goa and since they aren't talented, they would write crappy Goa of course.

     

    Conclusion? Don't blame the music, blame the artists.

    dude i kind of agree and disagree.

     

    also i only own 1 full on disc and thats TEN remix of astral projection, and if it didnt have astral name i wouldnt even own it. you heard one full on track you heard them all.

     

    think of some oldschool goa, some oldschool artists and being completely zooted out of your mind.. playing a random disc in your changer and recognizing the track by the artist, by that goa touch.. not the same formula fabrication full on

    Uhm...I didn't guess any so far (been hanging out in OT too much ;)) so here's an easy one:

    There is a light that flashes...occasionally, but we don't know what it means. Clever described it as kind of a...dream.

    Hehe, ah well... I said for me :) so this is personal indeed... And let's hope goa evolves so that I can write in 20 years... "hahaha, and I thought NDMA - Vitan was great... I didn't know what the future would bring back then!"

    Yes i feel after re-reading i came off harsh but im sure you love goa as i do and sometimes even I need a reminder about that fact. and i dont doubt in 20 years itll happen for you, me and everyone else.

     

    only we control the future of goa, you can complain about full on, or do something to change, i prefer to complain 1% of the time and do something 99% of the time. problem is i cant dedicate like i want to because of kickboxing.

     

    if someone made something like early etnica i would be so happy.

     

    i mean everyone another trust in trance 3 would be nice.

    Ok... it's very untipical for me to start such a topic... but I know it for sure now... After 10 years of goa listening I had many favourites... Many of them faded away, also many of them are still good when I hear them now... but only 1 track managed to give me goosebumps over and over and over again... Even after year and years and years... So oficially I know have thé ultimate favourite goa track, and that is:

     

    N.D.M.A. - Vitan!

     

    Don't forget to play it loud on a crystal clear sound system or you miss half of the fun... But then... A gateway straight to heaven... if I die, this should be played on my burial! :)

    Your EXCITEMENT has gotten the better of you. Right now your nothing more then a mere GOA padawan, YOU of all people should know there NEVER will be a best. Things always change, things always evolve.. sounds change, thoughts change.. its not one track thats the best, its GOA ITSELF thats the best.

     

    I will overlook your temporary moment of weakness.. as you were.
