  2. Hey Lu Bu,

I like what you have going here. I think this has the potential to sound big. I agree with mars on creating more of a story as this will add to the depth of your track. Good work, man :)

no offense to them but when i listen to violent relaxation

then updates files.. it doesnt give me a good feeling

  4. My 2 cents:

Make it more a story and less a few sequences stuck together. Give it some flow. Refine your instruments.

It's already got some cool parts but it can be much better !

thanks.. when i learn to have more patience in life it will show with the tracks.

when i get better at realizing i have nothing to prove in life.. the instruments will become more refined.

thanks for your words and i agree.

  5. At first seconds impressions were that its a bad ticon clone.. Than kick dropped in nicely.. That fighting talk isn't appropriate.. Lead is too simple.. It could be a lot better track if u worked on it a bit more, adjust a bass and do more work on the lead..

Overall its awesome track since u don't do that kind of music and u don't like it but I recommend u don't do more of this if u don't like it cause thats not the point of music.. U gotta love what u do, that should be top priority, above any producing skills u have, everything else will follow up naturally.. Do music that u like and enjoy!

BTW did u check out cool video in the off topic?

hi brother.. i agree 100% about the sample..

i have a space tribe like habit of using samples.. also i worked on those elements and i added more.

no lie that only took me 30 mins or so. ill add an updated version with no sample.. the fixes and the new melodies.

thanks for your kind words and i cant find the video?

  7. Ahhh, another "My dick is bigger than yours" thread  Well, to not look like I want to compete, I am not going to reply with how many styles, sub-styles and whatever else I listen to.

Oh, I love Minimal stuff, love love love!

it appears as tho you guys are good at becoming JACKS of all, but not MASTERING one.

i choose master of one, instead of jack of all..

  8. What are your experiences with these two outlets?

    Psyshop is by far better.

Orders have been accurate for me since 2000, only one mess up but they messed up and sent me a disc which happened to be a highlighted classic old psynews version.

Even during the slip up "rolf" contacted me almost within the same day and was a pleasure to talk to. prices are reasonable and shipping is always fast.

saikosounds are pimps to but they just dont have it together like psyshop. if you like your cd delivery to be regimented with precision psyshop is the way to go.

  9. I have some cds I think are impossible to trade because they're so s*** imo...

the lot included joujouka deput, va matsurhythm, some old va with bassline baby etc and so on.

I'll be not responsible for damaged products. I send the stuff without cd cases.

prolly about 5-6 cds altogether... just throw your address and I'll send them.

    the pm must include also:

    1.your fav psy-act

2.why you would like me to ship you such s*** cds?

    3.what you did on nye

    :__D

    -oopio-

you tell lies. i PMed you first im sure of it.

  10. The thought i have what psychedelic music is, is the music that makes me fly away and go into another world in my mind, getting manipulated and carried away by hypnotic melodies, wierd noizes and rythms, and flows that rip you with the stream and just goes on and on, taking you from one place or emotion to another...

But maybe my deffinition of "psychedelic" music is wrong... I had this discution with Nemo about Penta... Why do i think Penta is very psychedelic, while Nemo think it is NOT!?

What is psychedelic music really exept for a name?

there is no universal definition for the term.

it is what YOU make it

what makes it for YOU, is when you have an experience that takes it beyond the average.

when your mind is able to journey there and back no matter how hectic, no matter which chemical.. no matter what musical style.

altho your fooling yourself if you think its possible with anything but OLDSCHOOL GOA

  11. No arguing about the money issue and all the wonderful things it can bring into one's life, YES arguing about your artist pick, as GMS and X-Dream, just to make two more than obvious examples, have throughout their careers earned more than Etnica/Pleiadians and especially Crop Circles :drama:

yeap but i started the topic and i happen to be a big fan of crop circles/pleiaidans ;)

so bias comes to play here

  12. Well after some years in this forum I can finally say it.

I have the broadest taste in Psy than any other member, including DP.

And you know what? I'm happy about it! :)

I can listen and enjoy to: Goa, Freestyle, Full On, Dark, Progressive, Ambient, Suomi, Aussie, morning, spooky, sad, happy, serious, cheesy, mind expanding, mind destroying, powerful, soft, shamanic, technologic, weird, weirder, anything and everything!!!

The only stuff I don't like that much are: Minimalism (in dance psy), house influenced stuff, clubby mainstream tracks (all kind of styles) and too much dub in Ambient. That's all!

Give me: Astral Projection, Koxbox, Hallucinogen, MFG, Infected Mushroom, Shakta, The Muses Rapt, Salakavala, Texas Faggott, Eraser vs Yojalka, S-Range, Vibrasphere, Shift, Khopat, Miraculix, Sattel Battle, Twisted System, Magus, Xenomorph, Cosmo, Psykovsky, Midi Miliz, The Nommos, Datakult, Aes Dana, Astralasia, Safi Connection, Scozbor, Squaremeat, Vishnudata, Dark Elf, XV Kilist, Toi Doi, Bluetech, Taj Mahal, Phobium! You name it, I like it! :posford:

    What about you?

    oldschool goa.. thats it

  13. Infected Mushroom- I won't comment upon them, I will leave it to those who actually have the nerves and the patience to listen to either one of their albums front to back. While they are unquestionably influential and their imprint on the scene cannot be merely dissmissed, I still can't be bothered to listen to their music. There is just too much excellent stuff out there to focus on; no time for mediocrity. For what it may matter to anybody, I try to appreciate (from a fair distance) the allegedly landmark releases they've done. I respect 'em for the credits fans give them. But I don't like them, never have and the way things are going, most probably I never will.

Crop Circles/Pleiadians- What's up with the thread title? Isn't Crop Circles supposed to be a name composed of two separate words? My two all time favorite projects, not necessarily the best or the most talented, but without a doubt my personal pick(s) for the #1 act. What they have produced back in the day, to these present times has legendary status in the hearts of many old school lovers. No need to further reflect upon their past output, as most are familiar with it. However, on today's scene, these projects have barely any relevence, they are living on their past glory, and it makes me aggrivated. Unlike mars, I disagree Max & Mauri have a future in the mid-full-on/mid-prog supersweet stuff, as for many years now I have been eagerly expecting an electro-dub album from them. Tracks in the same vein as those from the second disc off V/A South Africa 2000 or some of the downtempo tracks off Nitrox should be just what it needs to regain their credibility. One thing you can never take away from them though, no matter how much you may despise their production, is the phenomenal ability they have to read the crowd and move the massess. Both Maurizio and Max, along with maybe half a dozen other live acts, are capable of hitting it on the nail with every performance, regardless of who they play for or what is coming out of the speakers. In their own right, they are one of the greatest live acts I have ever had the honor to listen to. Hell, even the often critisized stuff from "Chrome" made sense when properly introduced during a live set. In that sense, even today, anno 2008, Etnica/Pleiadians stand as Goliath like giants of the scene. But, to ironically quote one of their own track titles, I am the shadow of myself...

I tend to agree more with Basilisk's opinion, their recent production lacks consistency, their albums are patchy at best, and they just don't make themselves recognizible enough any longer to make me put them anywhere near the top of the heap. They fail time after time to distinguish themselves from numerous other acts, and unlike before, their music sounds like something any amount of "XYZ" producers could have pulled off. If clocks had stopped running back in the summer of 1998, I can hardly believe anyone could or would have ever had a chance to out do what these guys have crafted. Pure sonic wizardry.

Astral Projection- Goa trance superstars! Hard to say anything against them as they were one of the first acts I ever heard. However, objectively speaking, AP lost it a fairly long time ago. Whether they are cheesy or not is a matter of subjective judgement, but a fact remains: Astral Projection made highly enjoyable, danceable, happy, uplifting and positively charged music that stamped smiles on people's faces world wide. And yeah, they do deserve more than a tiny bit of respect for that! After all, they did not become stars by churning out filler material. They have a good amount of classic singles to flash off, and their debut album is a milestone in the genre. The traces they left on the scene are impossible not to notice, let alone acknowledging their effort in bringing the entire genre much colser to the attention of the public eye. More than a question of their importance on today's scene, I'll be honest and say that as far as I am concerned, my interest in this duo diminished quite a few years down the lane. In fact, I could care less about their forthcoming album... Back when they were the name to look out for, I would have killed to hear new material by the former masters, but today? Naaaaaaaah! They should have retired when it was time to, and history would have cemmented their names as the greatest musicians the genre ever had. Again, because of someone's taste, maybe not the most talented and all, but certainly the most prominent.

Simon Posford- Along with X-Dream (and it beats me how IM got into this thread rather than two true pioneers such as Rough & Rush), IMHO he's the only heavy weight veteran still doing this thing like God himself commands. While I'm pretty far from all the "godfordy" fans this forum has, I can hardly deny the creative genius of this man: from Hallucinogen to the marvellous, truly beautiful Shpongle, to Younger Brother's jaw dropping debut, "A flock of bleeps", to a number of scattered classics under monikers like Infernal Machine, North Central Positronics, Anubis, Binah and who knows what not, Simon Posford has most probably been around a whole lot more than I know and his Twisted Records label is one of the few ones out there still pushing some interesting and psychedelic music out on the market. While the new YB was in my ears everything but impressive, that can only be percieved as a minor stain on an impeccable record. Out of all the acts mentioned by the thread starter, I honestly think Simon Posford is the only one left who really has it inside himself to reinvent the wheel once again, so to speak, to really bring to the table something potent, vigorous, life altering and what not. More than once has he already showed that he's everything but a one trick pony. He refuses to blend in, he never waits to cash in on a lucrative formula, despite the fact he was in a position to do so many, many years ago. Not all his work is classic, far from it, but he's a somewhat consistent producer, who has done uncountable remixes, collaborations and his far reaching influence can be felt in the most obscure realms of the dusty old school records to modern, state of the art psy trance production. He has a loyal and fairly big fan base, which I am deeply convinced about, especially after attending the fantastic Twsited Records label party in London last year.

nice to answer you underlying question.. IMO effective is MONEY. money will always win, whether your music is better or worse, whether you are this or that money will always win. you dont have to be insane about it, but money can afford those little things to make life that much better. so when i say effective i say money wise, and IMO again those 4 are the ones who demanded the most of it.

  14. Kick and bass need more work...else is fine. ;)

    Peace :)

yeap i have no knowledge of this stuff. what what i think is right. im getting better with understanding what kick and bass is for true goa. but your definetly right. thanks for that.. im just to lazy to go in a wave editor and modify the frm of the kick, thats what u do im sure

    thanks again :)

  15. I'm not really fond of the high pitched (or whatever we call this) notes at the beginning of the loops at the beginning of the track.

But the rest sounds nice +. If you work on it a little you can even put something really good!

    Keep it up.

    Thanks dude/dudette!!!!!!!!!!!!

i put that together in 30 mins. i have no patience.. maybe if i wasnt so amped up workout style all the time i could focus and make a nice track

  16. I did not know where to put this topic, but we all know suntrip is gonna make a release of a new RA album soon and a comp. of various artists too in 2008!

so this is no real news, although I'm not a suntripper myself, but let you guys to know, 2 weeks ago we could hear "RA" play a new live set here and let me tell you guys, it's gonna be a blast!

after that anoebis played - to me his best set I've ever heard - with some new material of the new compilation that is to come!

I can only recommend you all to go to the "myspace of suntrip" and listen to the samples they already put on the net!

Why I do this? making "promotion" of a label which I'm actually no part off; well Jos already knows, I was this touched by the music of his set (it was like a mental bomb, playing "old Etnica styled music" all the time - wow! my all favourite tunes!!!) and the music that RA was doing I could cry, really!!!

That night when I got home I lie awake because I couldn't stop thinking about this great music!!!

so be sure dudes, this two albums are gonna be a blast!!! I couldn't resist to share this feeling with you all because it's that wonderful!!! goatrance lives, lives, ...shall live on!!!!

those who love the old Etnica sound and the dimension 5 flow will be blown away in 2008!!!!!

couldn't resist sharing this with you guy, I know there are a lot of goatrance lovers here on the forum!!!

these can only be mine modest, but very happy, best wishes for the new year :)

are you kidding me? that RA track has the bassline from hunab ku - phoenix and the melody reminds me of SOME FUCKING CLUB TRANCE I WOULD DOWNLOAD FROM BEATPORT

this isnt goa.. this is sellout music. i expected more from RA

WTF man its gotta be like that huh?

look up sean tyas if you like that RA sample

  17. Infected Mushroom

A brilliant duo... sold out a tad too often but I think they'll be back making what they love eventually. Probably my favourite here

    Astral Projection

Quite an excellent duo... however they might be 5% above the competition but they get a ton more popularity. There are plenty more Goa trance names that are just as good as these guys and as innovative. Khetzal to name one

    Simon Posferd

Has made a lot of 8/9 out of 10 albums and tracks... lacks any killer songs IMO. I've never really liked much of his solo projects either.

Shpongle was amazing... but concidering how much I like the infinity project... I think Raja Ram had quite a part in it as well.

    Pleiadians

These guys have a quite unique sound(or they did before the group halved from what I've heard)... they also have their excellent tracks as well as tracks that are solid yet not standard due to their unique sound. My second favourite... after infected and probably for similar reasons to infected

    Crop circles... who's that?

a group of pimps that made the best goa ever. 4 of the 6 were etnica/pleiadians.

familiarize yourself with them and ASAP

    lunar civilization is first

    diferent speicies is next

the rest are good but antonamsia is wierd.. its made by only the one dude.. very alcyone sounding but becareful for it is wierd..
