    Hi guys,

     

    I have been searching the interwebs for some dedicated ambient web-shops or other music shops with a good ambient selection, not referring to psy-ambient, I know where to get that ;)

     

    I only know a few including: http://databloem.com/ and the others I knew are gone actually :*(

     

     

    Specifically I am looking for a shop that carries Steve Roach and the likes...

    hey people, what you think of the following

     

    -if you don't want to rank your vote, every album mentioned gets 5 points. stop the leadership, cut the cake in equal pieces :)

     

    btw, isn't it possible to cancel the deadline? i mean, why shouldn't i change my mind through the years, not to mention that i will listen to countless 2013 albums after the end of March

    The purpose of the thread is to make rankings, then they will be collected and polls will be made, hence the deadline (even though I do think that one month is a short time to make up my mind).

     

    There are threads relating to each years vote in the review section (of that year), it might be possible link these with the old voting threads (we will look into that) so that individual votes can be readily found again (and changed) while having the collected (unchanged) results as well. It might even be made available directly from the discussion forum, it seems to be hidden a bit in the review section.

    And as far as I remember the color represent the atmospheres changing composition and hence ability to absorb light, so it looks like a sun-rise/-set, but it actually isn't (in the classic sense anyway). But is a moonrise :D

    and not just dark, but also twisted sounds like is key in much of the darker stuff that came much later, especially in forest trance.

    ahh just realized that you were asking for albums, will just rephrase to:

    and one track that always blows my suck of Ephemeral (1997) maybe more twisted than dark, but that could be debated I guess :P

     

    Dark Soho is a good candidate as well, more sluggish (heavy metal) dark, but still cool!

    Did you get the version with the fixed CD 1? Anyway, nice album, even if it's quite "dark" or "harsh" by AVP standards :D

     

    Yeah I did :) I planned to buy it back when he first released it, but didn't get around to do it, to my fortune it seems ;)

     

    But yeah it is quite harsh, but I like it, just had to adjust my ears a bit :P
