The Delta - Send In Send Back
Never has an album with so little melody kept me interested for so many years.

I think it's pretty good. Not psy-trance by any means, but Juno Reactor has never really been all that much about psy anyways IMO.
I'll be curious to see what people are saying about it in, say, two years. Much like their last couple albums, or even Shpongles albums for that matter, generally right after release the bulk of comments seem to "crap, crap. crap" but after some time passes, I notice that opinion shifts for many and I suspect this album could far in that category as well.

I just went through the set again and I am pretty happy with it, but for future reference would you guys wonder what the hell is wrong with the DJ if he/she went from euphoric progressive to something as drastic as full-on/dark psy? Or would you just shrug it off and consider it "story telling," especially if the mix was smooth and felt all right?
Depends how snobby your crowd is I guess. When I DJ it tends to go all over the place, often starting tech, then going prog, then funk, then straight up full on, and possibly ending with some goa goodies, but usually it goes over well and if you find some good transition pieces across sub-genres it doesn't really seem all that weird.

I heard the samples... sounded bloody awful if u ask me, but I haven't heard the full version. Don't think I will too
I liked their first album though (sort of, but not really)
One thing I've never understood is why all these guys doing "metal guitar" tracks always seem to end up with really simple and crappy riffs that have no variation at all. Some of these guys are obviously decent players, so why do pretty much all of the psy-guitar tracks in the last 6 years or so sound like stuff a guy playing for 4 months could have come up with?

The other factor in price though is demand. I think it is fairly safe to say that I.F.O. is the more known album here, so you have more people who are looking for it, hence more people willing to pay the higher price.

New Younger Brother album in the background while I teach English here at work.

Made this over the weekend and have been listening to it a lot the last couple days. Things are rough here and the music probably reflects that.

Uni - Uni
God damn this is a good album, much better than La'Movin
Seeing Uni live in a small club in Kyoto back in the winter of 98/99 was probably the final step in my conversion away from drum and bass to focusing exclusively on psy. Nice guys too, I was quite surprised when I played with them last summer to find out that they knew who I was. Then again the Japanese psy-scene isn't all that big either I guess. lol
NP: Started and finished a track with weekend and listening to the three tracks I have for the next album, figuring out where to go next with this. Considering all the bad shit going on in my life now, dark down-tempo seems to be the name of the game for the next several tracks

You watched too much Stargate.
Own all 10 seasons of SG1 and have watched all of Atlantis to date as well.
Back on topic, I must admit I am one of those who doesn't own any of the RA releases to date (hangs head in shame)

I thought Ra had been destroyed on the first mission to Abydos?

In case anyone is interested, I have a limited number of hand numbered, signed copies of the "Flights Of Infinity" CD available. The usual price of $10 per CD which includes shipping anywhere in the world, applies. I can also include any of the other PAR-2 releases for discount if ordered together. Unfortunately I can only take payment by Paypal for this but PM me if interested.

Really, I thought that people were not allowed to throw parties in Yoyogi anymore.( I always see people singing or playing an instrument solo when I go there).
Me too. I seem to recall several of my promoter friends who used to regularly throw parties there complaining that they needed to get permits now and that they were rather difficult to obtain. It's no secret that the trance scene was targeted by the police in Tokyo due to all the drug use and such starting a few years back and it really hit the scene hard. Last time I played down there was earlier last year, but there was a definite difference from even the year before that. The quality of the events I have played down there has generally gone down hill rather considerably and today the bulk of the events seem to mostly be friends renting a club and doing fairly half-assed parties. There's nothing wrong with that in and of itself and they can be fun, but when I compare those to the events I went to back in 99-01 there is a huge difference. Most of the artists I know here also are saying the scene has really been going down the tubes and everyone is quite down on things at the moment. There are a few good medium sized organizers who are still doing nice stuff (Psy-16/Sonic Traveler and 6 Dimension Soundz/DAT Mafia come to mind) but they are becoming few and far between.

Wow.... I am almost 90% sure that Yabai label isn't a babel fish translation, but at least they tried ^^;.
Being an English teacher in Japan I would agree that it probably isn't a babel fish translation. After awhile here you tend to be able to notice "Japanese" English mistakes fairly easily.

Can Jikkenteki confirm that there is indeed a CD version?

Funny, K.U.R.O. was just talking about wanting this on his blog on Mixi today.

Sounds like the kind of thing Vision Quest would be after.
Personally I like this picture.... so made faders, so little use. http://viewmorepics.myspace.com/index.cfm?...imageID=5602973

What do you think of this one?
Do you think Ben sounds like Lou Reed?
The last two tracks he sings on I have yet to wrap my head around properly, but the rest of the album I think is excellent. Juno tracks I initially dislike have a tendency of growing on my like a year later so the jury is still out on those last two, but the rest is solid and filled with atmosphere, which is probably the most important thing for me in music.

Juno Reactor - Gods and Monsters

Is "City Of The Sinful" on the album? The version of that on the Live DVD lasy year I freakin' loved.

Wav version is available HERE for the time being. It should get listed on Ektoplazm fairly soon as well.

Artwork for Flights Of Infinity has been handled (thank you again supergroover), so the call for this release is officially over. HOWEVER we have two more things coming up in the near future that we will need art for release-wise so if the call isn't over yet.
-
Special thanks need to go out to supergroover for helping a guy in need in the art department. Thank man!
I'll be working on getting the full quality downloadable version up sometime in the next few days as well as get a copy off for a test printing at the printers we are looking at.

Sorry for the delays but as of today all the orders so far have been shipped. There are still several more copies available though (nudge nudge, wink wink)
