Since Psynews has been a great source of support for PAR-2 Productions, we are having a little special for Psynews.org members only. Until Oct 31st, Psynews.org members can purchase any PAR-2 Productions release (VA - A Walk Through Neptune's Garden, Jikkenteki - The Long Walk Home, VA - Mainspring Motion ) for only $6, including shipping and handling anywhere. Unfortunately I can only accept payment via paypal at the moment, but for those interested please PM me here. :posford:
Best,
Jikkenteki and PAR-2 Productions

Due to another sudden financial crisis I shall not be buying many more CDs in the near future
I do however have 3000 yen to spend at tower records using my point card & 2 brian eno CDs coming in the post soon so it's not all doom & gloom!
Lemme guess, it has to do with pink rabbits?

Last Sunday I FINALLY got the Twisted DVD. Due to $$ issues and a huge push to get out of debt (made the last $1000 payment today :posford: ) I haven't been able to buy much of anything new musicwise since late July. I couldn't really even afford the DVD, but it was just staring at me at Tower Records and after about 15 minutes of calculating the bare minimum amount of money I needed to eat until payday today, I gave in and bought it. I don't want to have to try to survive on a couple of dollars a day for a week again anytime soon though.

Isratrance lists some. The Solstice's page has a lot of events to. If you can join mixi (list a Japanese version of myspace) there are a million Japanese psy groups there and just about every event in Japan is listed somewhere there as well.

yeah, Edirol, never gonna touch that midi controllers again, 2 of them died on me.. all of a sudden, 2 of the C and D keys just DIED.... weird as.
I, on the other hand, have owned two Edirol controllers and have had 2 problems with them. The only reason I've had two was because I upgraded one of them to a bigger and better model and solid the first one.

Ugh, I own too many of them to be bothered to list them... Check my discogs collection I guess. The most important compilation track though must be Domestic Mushroom - Scotch!!!!!

Was cleaning up the server a bit and stumbled across this little bit from last May I think.

Kind of embarrassing for some reason, but I'm a glution for punishment I guess so...
Next up some Logic Bomb I think....

For the X-Dream choice since everything on Radio was pretty influential, the obvious choice might be "The Frog" since it came out much earlier than the rest of the album and was influential in the minimal boom (or at least so I was always lead to believe).

Principles Of Flight - Strange Woods (Jikkenteki Remix)
I'm about half way through writing it and have hit that wonderful point when everything is just writing itself now. Unfortunately I'm leaving for the weekend in 20 minutes and will have to keep myself satisfied with a 4 minute mp3 of what is finished so far. Damn life breaking my flow....
-
I have every CD TIP World has put out, although I'm still missing some of the vinyl. I have a decent chunk of the original TIP catalog too, but missing some key releases there. I also own all the of the PAR-2 Productions catalog as well

did you get hit by that massive residence tax hike??
That fucking pissed me off! :pissed:
Yeah, city taxes throughout Japan went up this year. The national tax went down a bit and th elocal governments got the ablity to tax higher. Mine went up 45%, but unlike most people who got them in May, I got might on July 21st and the first payment was due July 31st.

The majority of US artists I have heard in the last few yeas tend to have dark leanings, so its perhaps no surprise that the trance that is becoming known back there is of the darker variety. As for the Twin Cities and dark-psy, that doesn't surprise me at all considering the the Twin Cities also has a fairly solid underground metal scene as well. I often joked that the reason some much dark music is popular in the underground scene there is because the majority of Minnesotans are so annoying that people need the dark music as an outlet for stress release. It is a joke of course, but in the darker moments I sometimes think it's half true. lol
As for ticket prices, comparing them to the prices here in Japan I can only say... damn that's cheap.

I can't put my finger on it, but there is something familiar about the title...

Quantica - Astrobiology:
Downloaded this free album from Ektoplazm awhile ago but never gave it a proper listen until today. Its much better than I remember it being from when I scanned it after downloading it originally.

(snip)... sucks
jikkenteki too
Yeah, I hate that guy too. Can't seem to clearly pick one style, all his releases get delayed, spends too much time babbling on online forums.
-
.... and after paying my rent I have literally the £7 in my pocket to my name.
Don't follow my example if you need a high daily calorie intake to survive.
Sounds like me. I had to sell $1000 worth of stuff from my studio last month just to cover my taxes, insurance and have enough for food. For Sept and Oct I'm still about -$500 from where I should be
-
I was pretty impressed with this CD when I first threw it in my CD player. Quality tracks, Logic Bomb sound, good production values, etc. That said, while I like the album a lot, for whatever reason it doesn't get into my playlist all that often.
-
I guess he listened to the 1st CD & just extrapolated without listening to the other one :drama:
That's what I thought, but he swears he listened to all the files I gave him and all.... Very strange....
