  1. always wanted to buy a set of akg earcandy but they sound too flat imo. don't get me wrong, their superb for mixing sessions but i'll stick to my beyerdynamics for my creative moments
  2. Hallucinogen - Angelic Particles a-a-a-a-a-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-i-i-i-i-i-i-i-i-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-e-e-e-e-e-i-i-i-i-i-i-i-i-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a . . . . . . . . . . .
  3. no magic matrix stuff really. green area displays the kick, and the blue area a very basic trance bassline. experiment with different velocity settings, transpose, etc... u get the idea. add more punch to your basslines with shorter decay on the amp env, and if u're lucky enough to have a virus it even has it's own punch intensity parameters. no need for two samples... why make it difficult when u can do it simple? get to know your synth well, a good bass patch only needs eq and compression to fit in a mix, no additional tweaking Synths? virus, nordlead, supernova, whatever... Reason? YES! Waves? YES!!
  4. dancefloor full-on supakillah, no trip to exciting new trancy worlds though
  5. seriously, if u make money out of your music, support the ppl who made it possible for u to make your music in the first place. as u might do someday, they make a living out of the music business too. may the holy light of trance shine upon u forever, amen.
  6. ...squeeky squeek squeak.. made this sound with reason's subtractor the other day, but it can be applied to most subtractive synths. turned out pretty well even though it's become a cliche like anything else in the full-on sound these days... first, init patch. then turn the modulation envelope amount to about 90 and use the mod env decay to get the pitch right. set it to 54 and use C0 on your keyboard to trigger the sound. adjust the default filter envelope velocity amount to 0. Set filter 1 to bandpass then open it up even more by pushing it to 90 and add some resonance (about 30). now, to get some movement set lfo 1 to modulate the filter frequency and set the rate to about 50 and amount to 40. amp envelope values: attack: 0, decay: medium, sustain: 0, release: fast. play with the filter envelopes to sculpt the sound even more.. now add some pingpong delay fx for the final touch.
  7. yeah, the virus the virus the virus.. i love my virus let the bass infect us all!
  8. weird. i find the subtractor to be one of the best softsynths to do basses, except the virus poco plugin which is truly amazing. just init patch, pull down the freq cutoff a bit (around 40-50), low res and lp filter and turn the keyb track knob all the way up. osc1 on full vol and down one octave. might need to adjust the velocity flt. env too and filter env too. then add a comp (some nice settings for bass.. ratio to 4:1 treshold on medium, a very fast attack and medium release. these are only guidelines though, and depends on the character of the sound you are compressing. now turn up the volume and listen to how fat this sounds! important things to remember as mentioned above ..eq, eq, eq, eq, eq, eq, eq!!! short attack, medium decay, no sustain and short release. good luck...
  9. Check out the Beyerdynamic DT-770 Pro (closed) and DT-990 Pro (open). Very good studio monitoring headphones. Best i have ever heard. http://www.beyerdynamic.co.uk/beyer%20pages/studioheads.html
  10. i was referring to the AP tracks on those albums, not the album itself
  11. nice one yeah, no more MFG:( New passenger stuff though... and guy and avi has joined forces as human evolution making more cheesy trance).
  12. yeah, their prophecy album from 96 roxx. overload......... mm;) astral have some new tracks on newer compilations...
  13. what do u mean? i've listened to it about 10 times and it ain't getting any better...
  14. yeah, i agree... as i said earlier the full-on sound doesn't do these songs justice.
  15. Well, to be honest i don't think there is anything like Amen ever released. AP have a track (Back from hell) on the Psytisfaction album released by Phonokol Records. That's the closest u get i think. http://www.psyshop.com/shop/CDs/pho/pho1cd299.html Also, they have a track (Mohadive) on Raveolution Reloaded by Phonokol Records) ft. Dynamic although imo it sounds more like MFG. http://www.psyshop.com/shop/CDs/pho/pho1cd307.html hope this helps
  16. sorry, i just didn't understand. Maybe the new AP artist album hopefully to be released later this year...
  17. if i understand u correctly u want the track list of Amen? http://www.psyshop.com/shop/CDs/ntd/ntd1cd068.html
  18. Yes i downloaded it.. yes i will buy it:) Over the past ten years Astral Projection has written what some consider to be the best and most sophisticated trance music in existence. The true masters of the sound are still masters of the sound, but to be honest I am a bit dissapointed with this album. I'm a huge AP fan, and these songs sounds way too similar to all the other full-on stuff around. There is no energy and it lacks the special melodic feeling these songs had in it's original state. It sounds way too techno, and as you know techno doesn't have any kind of feeling. I actually prefer the good old domestic remixes. They had integrity, new sounds and still the AP touch. It is a good album, but the full-on sound just doesn't do these songs justice. In their rush to be cutting edge or to crank out another album most artists now seem to fall into this category. Anyway, it must be very hard to remix something that already contains everything to make a track perfect so props to all the artists for trying;) AP gets criticized for sounding old and being unoriginal. What's wrong with ppl? I think it is really stupid that every full-on artist sounds the same! If u're a true AP fan and love the original astral sound like me u probably wont like this album. Still, go buy it and support avi and lior! Can't wait till their new artist album gets released later 2004/2005. ASTRAL PROJECTION FOREVER!
