  1. bwbwhahahaha! I finally realised why my track sounded abit "wonky" and too "bassy" I completely forgot when im using monitor headphones not to have the bass up too much. So in otherwords, in the headphones, it sounded amazing, like pumpin . And on a normal pair of speakers, it sounded ridiculious, you couldnt even hear the bassline, only the bass coming off it, same with the kick . So i did abit of tweaking last night, fixed everything up now Great now im just going to make sure that my mix is as good sounding as possible Still need to try the Scream Unit for final mix. Lovin it!!!!!! Thx ppl!
  2. BOOOOOO!!!! Antiworld parties are too commercial!!!!
  3. hehe thx dude, ill have to experiment tonight Love the Scream Unit, good fun Ill let u know how things go. Many thx psych cell
  4. Would that be for the Kick and Bassline? I guess that the rest, can be done by ear, by tweaking the volumes to how you want it to sound right.
  5. mmmmkay Sounds obvious i guess . Any other suggestions?
  6. But i want to know the basics, is there any?
  7. I know Mastering is a skill you either have or was shown in your sound engineering studies. But i was wondering what would be the simple concepts in Mastering a track for begginners, just to make the track sound slightly better . Just the simple concepts that should be remembered? Any ideas guys?
  8. Ive seemed to have worked it out now BUT, now im having problems hearing the recording ive layed down in Wavelab. Was able to record, its there, but i cant hear anything. When i save the recording in Wav Format, i can only hear it when im listenening through Windows Media Player, or Recycle. I have everything connected up corrected From Soundcard to Mixer, etc... What the problem?
  9. I use Reason, i dont use VST's, sorry dude
  10. ok guys My soundcard to mixer setup is very simple.... This is my mixer http://www.turnkey.co.uk/tkweb/stockdetail...MIX&context=WEB And my soundcard http://www.turnkey.co.uk/tkweb/stockdetail...404&context=WEB The Aux Send Outputs go into my soundcards Line In Inputs (Left and Right) The Line In 3/4 Inputs go into my cards Line Out Outputs (Left And Right) And my speakers are connected to the Ctrl Outputs to my Monitors And my mic ( http://www.turnkey.co.uk/tkweb/stockdetail...7LC&context=WEB ) Its connected the the channel 1 mic input. So am i missing some connection? or is there something i have to do in the software? I have Audacity and Cool Edit Pro. Many thanks!
  11. hi everyone! I have a analog mixer connected to my EMU-0404 soundcard. Ive got everything setup correctly, im wanting to record using a microphone via a program like Cool edit pro, or Audcity? The thing is im not exactly sure how to record yet? Put it this way the microphone is setup in a sense that i can hear playback, but its not recording when im pressing record in Audcity. So what do i need, or need to setup? Thanks guys!
  12. Yeah there is, when i open the middle part, they are green and yellow. Its the actuall grill/head i took off
  13. Ahoy! I bought the SM57, quite a nice mic by the looks of it. I still need to buy a XLR cable though. I dont know if i fucked the mic up now. I took off the head piece to have a look and the wiring, and when i took it off, there 2 red wires just hanging around, not going into anything? Is it meant to be like that? i obviously wouldnt know if it works because i havnt got the cable? Any owners of this have something to say?
  14. Hey all, ill be in brighton tonight to see some old mates. Going to a party at the Concord in Brighton, where Cosmosis is playing Anyone here about this party, or coming along?
  15. hahaha yeah i guess im determined to use everything i got to its fullest potential you should give it a try, will be well worth it.
  16. hey guys...! I eventually ended up phoning M-Audio Tech Support yesterday and asked them about this problem im having. They told me its probably got to do with the CC Numbers on the parameters, and what you need to do is set each each knob and slider to a parameter that doesnt exist in your setup, therefore when its set to that parameter is doesnt effect("move/alter") anything in your setup, you'll have to refer to a MIDI CHART that came with your keyboard It took a long time last night to do, abit tedious actually , i basically had to select MIDI on each device in Reason (Just the Synths, and Samplers) and check every knob and slider on my keyboard to see whether they were worth changing to a "unused" parameter/function in my setup/studio....In my case i changed almost all of them, there were only like 4 of 16 that were worth keeping BUT i got it all done last night , and im really looking forward to controlling my software properly! Hope info helps anyone else
  17. so then how do you make the tunes you want to? There has to be way around this
  18. but what happens if theres a parameter that isnt assigned then? and you want to control it?
  19. Hi just bringing this thread to the top again. Im having problems with setting parameters on my Radium49 As an example, im trying to set a knob to a parameter on the Redrum Machine in Reason2.5, i right click on the parameter, click edit remote mapping, choose the knob i want assigned, and press enter. Now the problem is ive set that parameter, it moves when i touch the knob, but the knob is still set on the previous parameter it was on, so both parameters are moving at the same time? And ive tried resetting the whole keyboard, but the default setting has knobs and sliders set to certain parameters already? I gone through my manual for my keyboard, tried to find something in Reason, and i cant seem to find anything that can help me Is there a way i can wipe out all the setting and start from scratch? Does anyone else here use a Radium49, or any M-audio series midi controllers that can help me? Thanks guys!
  20. I got a mixer now, will that microphone work with this setup? Seems like a really good mic, considering to purchase it Give me your thoughts
  21. Hey, i went to turnkey in London over the weekend, and i think i solved my problem, spoke to one of the pro audio dudes there, and he suggested this mixer ( http://www.turnkey.co.uk/tkweb/stockdetail...MIX&context=WEB ), as im not going to need so many channels at a time, the quality of sound is better than the Behringer UB mixers, i can plug the electric guitar straight into the mixer and its alot cheaper. The only thing the behringer had that was better, is the amount of channels. So i saved myself £30, and got what i needed! LOVELY http://www.turnkey.co.uk/tkweb/stockdetail...MIX&context=WEB
  22. I have this soundcard. http://www.emu.com/products/product.asp?product=10447 http://www.behringer.com/UB1202/index.cfm?lang=ENG Im wanting to get this mixer to record my guitar riffs, etc, as well as have my speakers/monitors plugged into it too. Though the cables im using (for my speakers/monitors) with my sound card are 1/4 Jacks to RCA, the 1/4 Jacks plug into my soundcards Analog Outputs and the RCA's are at the moment plugged into the AUX Inputs on a normal amplifier im using? NOW i was wondering where i would plug in the RCA's of those cables into my new mixer? And would i plug the guitar into one of the Line In's (1-4) ? Thanks guys!
  23. If i was to get the mixer, would i definately need the mic to record??? I was told yesterday by someone that all i need is a power mixer, like the Behringer UB series, plug my guitar into there and my sound card too? Is having the mic nessary?
  24. Im bringin this up again. Could someone please help me, ive been to several forums on the net, asking the same question over and over, and im getting no response anywhere!!! I found this on the net today, i think it might be the closest thing i need to record my guitar onto my pc? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...mMakeTrack=true I have this sound card: EMU 0404, here's the maunal : Click the pdf!!!! http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en&q=emu...al+%2Bpdf&meta= Is there anything else i might need? I really need to get this sorted....... its driving me nuts!!!
