  1. Macs kick ass! There's just not much software for them. Anybody seen those new iMacs? The ones that look like some kind of lamp with a monitor instead of a lampshade/bulb? Slick! Long Live Apple! -=- Matt/Strumpling -=- Macs kick ass
  2. Oh Andreas of Amygdala, You're WAY over my head, my friend. I'm a beginner, decided to start creating music SERIOUSLY just a few weeks ago, so I'm still gathering hardware/software. I know close to NOTHING about vocoders; I've used them, but didn't know what I was doing. I'll be spending one week toying with each feature and plugin I have in each program, and then the following weeks will be messing with MULTIPLE features and plug-ings, AND programs for that matter..... THEN comes the creation.. First I gotta "get my feet wet", and I have this idea to keep me going for now Thanks for the tip, though. When I have more experience I will definitely be able to steal those ideas from you!! :-D -=- Matt/Strumpling -=- let's make music!
  3. Well I'll certainly use beer bottles....... as well as many many many other types of things. As I'd said, at LEAST 50 samples of each "category." to cover the whole "scale" of the sound -=- Matt/Strumpling -=- beer!
  4. sorry d00d, my old old old old Mac won't run it (i use this fancy PC now). If I could help you, I'd definitely sacrifice the 10 minutes, man. Sorry :-/ -=- Matt/Strumpling -=- anybody?
  5. I could probably creat some in-between sounds as well, so a transition from metal-metal to metal-glass would sound smoother there would of course be at least 2 different ones playing together, it would rarely just be metal-metal or wood-glass or whatever..... mix n match, ya know? But yeah, there are way too many ideas I'm comming up with to keep posting them. This is the only one I'll throw out here. -=- Matt/Strumpling -=- way too many ideas
  6. So, would anybody find this interesting (or I'll-steal-his-idea-"worthy?")? I would record percussion. lots of it. at least 50 different kicks from each "category" wood on wood wood on glass wood on metal metal on metal metal on glass glass on glass These sounds could be "rolled" together into a giant sound, which would stretch out and "zoom in" on different parts (metal on glass could play around for a while, then "zoom" back out to the whole thing again), it could speed up into a giant "zip" type of sound, or slow down to 1 beat every couple seconds even. of course, there would be hopefully not-so-generic "waves of sound" to back it up, and many other things involved, but it seem with enough detail, almost an entire album could be made with percussion sounds "in the spotlight" like that. So is that a cool enough idea for me to NOT be posting it here on a public forum, or does it suck ass? I guess it would all depend on the final product, which probably sounds a lot clearer in my head than anywhere else. Maybe you'll hear it someday... then we'll be able to tell if it sucks -=- Matt/Strumpling -=- feel free to take that idea if it doesn't suck, or is already 15 years old!
  7. After more thought.... I'll definitely save up and go with a more "professional" route - this is one of the most important components of my set-up, since I will be very computer-oriented until I can buy a rack-o-cheap-bullshit. -=- Matt/Strumpling -=- once again, guys. thanks for the help!
  8. I'm sorry I hadn't known! HAPPY BIRTHDAY! we love you, Psynews! -=- Matt/Psyling -=-
  9. aside from SHPONGLE: Asura: Code Eternity is pretty kick-ass.... Makyo: Yakshini is great! Mystery of the Yeti part 1: awesome! Celtic Cross: Hicksville is cool if you like the celtic feel and plenty of "git-tahr!" -=- Matt/Strumpling -=- OH my GOD are we EVER in Hicksville!
  10. Strumpling

    help!!!

    no clue. -=- Matt/Strumpling -=- PSYTRANCE forums...
  11. I'm not sure who they are, and I tracked thier website down a long time ago (www.google.com search for waterjuice inversion layer i think that's how I found it), but I enjoyed it. I was kind of surprised. Nothing FANTASTIC, but at least a 7.5 -=- Matt/Strumpling -=- last track's pretty killer, as well.
  12. I dunno but DAMN I've love to go see Shpongle. I'd just sit there and watch everybody enjoying it -=- Matt/Strumpling -=- Shpongle for the Family!
  13. Listen to Shpongle. Listen to Shpongle. Listen to Shpongle. Listen to Shpongle. Listen to Shpongle. Yes. Listen to Shpongle 6 times. At least. -=- Matt/Strumpling -=- Listen to Shpongle again.
  14. Cool, man. Thanks. Since it is indeed very important (I will end up hooking whatever recording device I get up to my soundcard as well), I will probably go with something that expensive... It should be worth it. -=- Matt/Strumpling -=- thanks again for suggestions!
  15. Although I'm quite a beginner, I can see just from opening either program that Reason is a bit more "complete." Which makes it complicated. Really complicated! But I'm workin on it! -=- Matt/Strumpling -=-
  16. It sounds like he just works the dials well when he mixes it in...... -=- Matt/Strumpling -=- work those dials! oh don't forget the KNOBS too, and the SLIDERS, and those BUTTONS!
  17. No cheaper solutions Entity? I'm only 20 years old, working an $11.00/hr full-time job and paying for school as well.... Trying to get cheap stuff for starters, then if I can even make a decent-sounding DEMO I'll start hitting the more expensive stuff. -=- Matt/Strumpling -=- hopefully in under 2 years I can release something...... but it may take longer
  18. I'm with Lifeform on this one. I actually JUST got another keyboard (this one with midi out so i can actually DO something with it) and am already enjoying all this stuff........ now all I need is a new soundcard so i can wire this puppy RIGHT into my computer -=- Matt/Strumpling -=- keyboards kick ASS!
  19. Hello there people! I've gotten my hands on a crappy keyboard with MIDI out.... Are there soundcards that have MIDI in capability built right into the card? If so, which one(s)? If not, what do I do from here? I'm 100% lost. -=- Matt/Strumpling -=- any other random tips?

  21. kadafi, kick-ass! I listened to Waterjuice this evening as well! "Waterjuice : Captain Nemo's secret chamber" -=- Matt/Strumpling -=- 2 votes for Nemo!
  22. New Asura on the way as well! -=- Matt/Strumpling -=- mmmmmmm.... Asssuuuuuuuuuuurraahh
  23. LoL i know we can do both! *I* do! That post was basically for the peeps who never hit the off-topic section. You guys are "dismissed" heh. -=- Matt/Strumpling -=- class dismissed!
  24. fcck cracks! I'd like to give my money to these people if they're making software that will assist me in making music/hopefully generating some sort of profit someday. Just lame that they basically split one program into 3 parts just to make some more ca$h. maybe i WILL pirate it... -=- Matt/Strumpling -=- Pirates! Abandon ship!
