  1. lol my first trance CD was Space Tribe: 2000 O.D. A friend of mine loaned it to me, said "listen to this @!#$, dude" I did. I enjoyed it emmensely, and have since then realized that Space Tribe isn't all that great, but they are responsible for catapulting me into the world of trance Thanks Space Tribe!! Albums I borrowed next that drew me in closer: Chi A.D. - Anno Domini Tim Schuldt - Singles Collection Those kick ass for somebody new to the genre -=- Matt/Strumpling -=-
  2. MIKE D: www.dictionary.com Entry 1: psy·che·del·ic (sk-dlk) adj. Of, characterized by, or generating hallucinations, distortions of perception, altered states of awareness, and occasionally states resembling psychosis. n. A drug, such as LSD or mescaline, that produces such effects. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [psyche1 + Greek dloun, to make visible (from dlos, clear, visible. See dyeu- in Indo-European Roots) + -ic.] -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- psyche·deli·cal·ly adv. Entry 2: psychedelic adj 1: producing distorted sensory perceptions and feelings or altered states of awareness or sometimes states resembling psychosis; "psychedelic drugs like psilocybin and mescaline" 2: having the vivid colors and bizarre patterns associated with psychedelic states; "a psychedelic painting" 3: of a mental state characterized by intense and distorted perceptions and hallucinations and feelings of euphoria or sometimes despair; "a psychedelic experience" It's funny how people were talking about drug "use" and "abuse" Everybody's got different ideas on what "abuse" actually is; and usually, it's one pill, one gram, one hit, or whatever OVER however much YOU happen to like doing, and just a bit more often than you'd like to do it. There's no need to try and define drug "abuse" to everybody here, lol! Any moderators here? Just erase this entire thread. That might be a good idea -=- Matt/Strumpling -=- chill out, everybody.
  3. YES! This thread really made me happy! It's good to see that there are so many people who really really dig the new Shpongle. I knew it would catch on! Let's just try to let up on these non-believers a bit, though. The trash-talking has gone on long enough. -=- Matt/Strumpling -=-
  4. I don't understand what "Scary Goa" would be...... maybe "Gama Goblins 2" by Hallucinogen? - That kinda stuff? -=- Matt/Strumpling -=-
  5. Mike!!! MIKE MIKE MIKE!!!! PUMP up the volume or put on some headphones! Tales of the Inexpressible is one of the trippiest CDs I've ever heard He takes quite a few different musical influences, and then puts them under the influence! Every track makes it sound like I'm listening to some random album by some random artist all eft up on psychedelic drugs. This is why he used the world music. He wanted the feeling of listening to normal world music to be mixed in with the feeling of listening to psytrance. Allow me to point out that almost every track has small parts that break out of their world-music surroundings and start sounding almost as "psy-trancy" as Simon's Hallucinogen alter-ego. It's almost like he's making fun of other artists who are running out of things to do by just taking random types of music, morphing them into kick-ass alien-sounding psy-noises, then back to another random type of music, over and over and over again, in so many ways it's unbelievable. I'll bet he inspired so many artists out there to do so much more varied, new things; we'll see. Keep an eye on his buddies (doof, infected mushroom.........), I'm sure they'll start getting more open-minded as well. But not TOO open-minded, I hope: don't ask me about track 7 (once upon a sea of blissful awareness). I don't know what happened there. Bad simon! BAD! Oh, and if you didn't know, this CD was made for drugs. Take some magic mushrooms and listen to this and you'll most likely appreciate it much more. It is the PERFECT blend of "organic" (instrumental) and electronic music. What a jumbled, unorganized MESS I just spewed out. Hopefully you see where I'm comming from, and where we're headed. -=- Matt/Strumpling -=-
  6. People, people people! WHy is everybody talking about remixing an existing x-mas track?! There's no WAY that could be done well! Why the hell are there NO new x-mas songs? it's like people stopped making them 40 years ago because everybody felt there were already enough! If there are any artists out there, MAKE SOMETHING! I'm sure somebody could get a cheery, x-masy vibe into a psytrance song -=- Matt/Strumpling -=-
  7. Instead of listing ones everybody's already mentioned (Hallucinogen, Shpongle...) I'll go with artists who not many people are into, simply because of the availability of thier music being non-existant. There was this dude called Random who made a demo album called "Psychoactive" that was truely some of the best, wierdest trance I've ever heard. I'd LOVE to see more from him, but I don't think the poor guy even found a record label to carry him :( Then there was "Loop Guru" which isn't really psytrance, but kicks ass anyway. Anybody heard Loop Guru - favorite album in my opinion is "Loop Bites Dog" if anybody wants to check it out. Anyway, I'd love to see another album from them. Those are the people nobody even likes except me that I'd love to see release some more work. how'd i do? -=- Matt/Strumpling -=-
  8. it's so great to see lots of people enjoyed Tales of the Inexpressible as much as I did It blows every piece of audio I've ever heard out of the water. It raised standards for what music is by far my favorite album of the year! Shpongle - Tales of the Inexpressible -=- Matt/Strumpling -=-
  9. I dunno about this, man..... Sounds like bullsh- -=- Matt/Strumpling-=- Of course, this is just my opinion; I could be wrong
  10. kick-ass! A new site is on the way?! Any clue when it'll be up and running? i'm excited -=- Matt/Strumpling -=-
  11. I don't follow any religion, but I am one of the "many people here..." so count me too! P.S. Just kuz i got no religion, doesn't mean i hate it. back off. i have no problem with people "of faith," so don't get your panties all bunched up over this -=- Matt/Strumpling
