The visitor won't see anything of it. I wanted to keep this secret, but when my girlfriend saw what i had done for psynews 2, she told me it was not complete, so i realized the difficulty of the task, so i told her she would be in charge, and it will be the case. Howerver, no matter how confidence i put in her, and no matter how pertinent can be her analysis, i'd like her to have YOUR views, you old'chaps of psytrance. Hopefuly, the result will be a compilation of the best ideas and concepts. I know this is a, eternal burning subject BUT i don't want any flamming here. All relevant and constructive ideas are welcome. I think the final aim is to build some kind of (evolutive) list of genres and styles a bit one-size-fits-all...hard task. Some examples sets should also be built so as to check the model validity (examples : Shpongle, Dimension 5, Battle buddhas, Logic Bomb, Delta, MOS, Astrix, Synchro, Native Radio, 1200µ, etc etc etc albums could be confronted to this model..this is infinite. Firgo : the "recommended" red-label on the albums' listing was something very hard to determine and maintain. I may also add that opinions about an album change a lot after some months/years. So not only Etnica, but lots of other artists deserve to be marked as recommended (imo). We have planned a solution to have a reliable "global favourites". you'll see later...one day..you know...when psynews2 blabla ))

Lemmiwinks : I swear Etnica - Starship 202 was once called Pleiadians - Starship 101 Rmx when it was scheduled for some Etnicanet EP...but as i saw the guys live 4 times in 2 years, i also admit they always played it in both performances. Besides, Crop Circles is a totally different story from what was said before : this project that was burried in 98 with the crash of Auracle recors.

I saw Etnica live one month ago : they have indeed come back *a little* to something more melodic....they have brought back some of their fantastic breaks for example, but the rest is mainly very complex noise. So don't wait for brand new ultra full melodic tracks. Else they'll play in London on sept 27th as Etnica vs Pleiadians, which is their - i think- "can't do otherwise" concept. Let me explain my point of view : They have been performing under this double-name several times lately. It also seems they still try to attribute their tracks to either group depending on the madness they acheive... ...But... - with Etnica returning to something decent - with Pleiadians becoming more noisy (like starship 202 for example, which was annonced as a Pleiadians track for some unreleased Etnicanet EP, 18 months ago), - with the use of the same instruments for both groups - with the lack of time, *it seems* the limit between both groups has become uncertain for their very authors, you see. Yet, it's my opinion. I also was successively deceived by annouces, and finally the no-go's for the next Pleiadians Album...hum...CDM...hum...EP. Now i doubt we'll have something like that. On the other hand, i heard from a reliable source that an Etnica album is on its way...well is it complete or still one of those wonderful concepts of the brain our beloved highly whimsical artists have in mind ? Well...from what i heard they have enough new music for one album. Why not an Etnica vs Pleiadians album ? I'd prefer that than nothing. Future shall unveil all that

just finished devirusing the psynews server....grrrr hell...it couldnt reboot although i didnt have hte fix installed because i had taken some precautions, but it affected performances a lot.

Hello everyone. Just to say i'm going on zambujera....hummm...holidays, till august 10th. If my server fails before, noone will be here to restart it before that day...so please accept my apologies in advance. Else, here are a few infos from us. We are going thru a revealed crisis (like the rest of the french scene, bwaah) : - Psynews1 is likely not to be updated (as it's been for 1 year). Consider Psynews is now a forum ! - why ? => Children is not available anymore on Psynews, i guess. He says he is a bit, or will be again, but i dont believe it...he didnt even go to the Astral Projection pzarty in paris 2 weeks ago, so... About Insane that updates the EPs, i'll let him do it, so that our database is not completely idle. - I renewed psynews.org & .net domains for the next year - why ? => As i have been set on another project in my company (not a ugly one this time), and as hoped in my previous post about this matter, i have some time again to work on psynews2...It's progressing little by little actually, but it's definitely a w.i.p again. I'm thoroughly testing some delicate parts, and i updated many things (the db here is now mysql 4 for example)...i really hope i will manage to do it in a decent delay this time. Hello So i'll be very explicit and direct, as always If some sections of psynews are dead, that's actually not our fault. the servers at free.fr hosting the site are more than saturated. If the forums still work (alternatively sometimes), that's because they're still on lmy home ADSL line, but the quality of the line is bad, so each time the server gets disconnected, it takes a while to reconnect....and as this machine is also the name server for psynews, a disconnection also deprives you with www.psynews.org (though, the alias goatrance.free.fr is still available). If some of you encounter failures while posting messages on the forum, that's a known bug i've been hunting for a long time but i never got the time to find it...actually a forum upgrade might solve this. the problem is to find the time, as i'll explain later. Well some of you might say - You : Why not move the whole psynews site to the same server as the forums ? - Me : That's a good idea, an excellent idea, but neither of Children or me has the time (but we WILL do that eventually), which leads me to the second part of this post. OK, some of you know i now have someone in my life, so she diverted me a lot from my keyboards, and i also moved to a new home in which there was a lot of work to do, which took me almost all the time i had remaining for psynews activities. on top of that i'm working on some ultra shitty project for my work, with a lot of pressure. The last 6 months have been very hard. So i'm somewhat connected to psynews, but not like before. i'm like a non active member, as i also stopped all kinds of development for psynews 2 in the same period ; same for the parties, i got disgusted of the lousy parties here in france (and also the ever-the-same-lousy-atomic-pulse-crap) just at the same time, which didn't improve the situation, so i switched from one party a week to one every two months...i'll concentrate on some festivals. - You : So why not simply leave psynews, or worse, the scene ? - Me : Because i swore i would drive psynews 2 to its release. - You : But you just said psynews2 is idle, so please leave your place to the younger ones - Me : You have a point, but i also swore to myself i would resume the development as soon as possible after the move, the works, the crappy project, etc....and that time will come by the end of the month, so let's see if i can handle it. Now the Children case : no answers, no updates, nothing...a ghost ? No, simply Children is facing exactly the same things as i did, with a 2-months shift. And he also changed his work (now he works for the interactive/web dept at the french television). On top of that, he has no internet connection so far in his home, so he is more than idle. - You : same for Children as for Mars, 26 years old, time to leave the internet and have a decent life. Time to let the psynews to other people. - Me : You still have a point, and i share that point of view. I do think Children and me should leave psynews totally...wait wait wait...i don't contradict myself. Above i said i was still there for psynews2, not psynews1. The only problem is to find people interested in doing that. Look : the psynews1 site is totally static, no backoffice, lots of things to take care of all the time. So far, we recruited some moderators for the forums, and none of them could handle that task seriously long enough to convince us. So, as for the psynews themselves....... - You : you can talk, YOU cannot handle it ANYmore, others can obviously do better than nothing. -Me : I know. We already have a guy to take care of the EPs, it's now up to Children to say yes for all the other parts of the site. Else, personnally, i'd rather see the site to close *except for the forums of course, and for a while only* ; or maybe keep only a small small news page only....don't know. And now the delicate part : the contest nr2 & nr3 - The contest nr2 results are known, and our fellow label, inpsyde media, even scheduled the release of the second compilation. However, either for economic reasons (you know, the economy of the scne is going wrong, just read the article related to this on isratrance), or for personal reasons, i think the label owners, Valerio and Guissepe are no longer interested in working with us, and i don't think this compil will be released now. I also don't think another label will be willing to replace them...[understand what you want]. I thought about setting up a label expecially for this, with a limited number of releases, seriously distributed, and i also planned to ask for my friends at Procyon records to explain me everything on that subject, but with my move and the works, i have no money for that. Maybe we should try to set a business such as the Schlabbaduerst ReKkords one : send burnt copies to the ones who ask for it and pay a little fee....why not. - The contest nr3 has started and stopped quietly, like the rest. Sorry not to have informed you. Actually people have uploaded a lot on the upload server, my server, and we thank all competitors. We had a deal with some friend of ours who had some spare storage and bandwidth to give, for you to download, listen and appreciate the tracks...but the owners of the server and the bandwidth there didn't think the same and shortly after the begining of the third contest, we became out of download server. We tried to hire some space somewhere,but it has a co$t, so we asked for the help of inpsyde-media, with no result ! Else, particular people couldn't provide us with a regular and bandwidth compliant server. So...............ok my idea is not to let you apart, take that space for 1 or 2 months on our personnal funds, let you appreciate, fill 1 or 2 cds with the winning tracks and use the same distribution method for the 3rd contest as the one we'll choose for the 2nd contest. Conclusion As you can see i'm a bit blasé, moody, dark, whatever, in my explanations, but the roots of the problem aren't. I'm just ashamed and furious *about myself* not to be able to deliver you with what we delivered with so much pleasure, in 2000 and 2001. Psynews V2, i swear, will be born, and will regenerate all those wonderful feelings I swear we won't let this site to die like that !!! My last words go to Children. Please come on this thread, and let's take decisions altogether. Meanwhile, all useful and constructive comments ans solutions are appreciated.
