1. First day back at work today Heva >? Recovered yet >?

    he ehe h ... roll on 17:30 !!!

    305208

hehe yesh, back at workies, how's that for bad planning- coming back to work on a friday? Anyhows, yesh all recovered now, thanks to air berlin we had an extra day in hamburg!

I'm still gutted that after all my planning I missed most of Sensient's set, I rocked up at 3.55am after spending about an hour and a half faffing about trying to sort my life out to get over there. *feels like a chump* Seems like it rocked though - everyone was having a right good stomp when i got there for the last 5 mins of his set.

So did anyone see S-range on the main stage? I was gonna go but (once again) didnt sort it out. It was the fact they were playing on the main stage that put me off. Whats all this rumour I hear that 'they've gone full on'??? Is it true??? *slaps on 2001 for a moment of nostalgia*

  2. Well what can I say - Voov never fails to bring a big huge grin to my face every year :D

Landing in Hamburg and seeing rain was a bit of a worry (rain at voov - it can't be possible!) I ignored the weather reports all week prior to leaving and packed my flip flops, sunnies and suncream! Anyways, turned out not to be a worry at all, perfect weather (besides the odd shower) was had all weekend :D

Had an amazing time, the alternative stage is clearly the only place to be. The opening ceremony on the aternative floor made me realise why I love this festival so much, the soundsystem rocks, it's perfect. Beautiful decor, amazing sounds and wicked vibe, what more could I ask for?

Favourite set all weekend was Banel who played a wonderful set full of iboga goodness  I was actually having a cheeky snooze when I heard some of my fave tracks being played, so I jumped up and literally ran (in the rain) to the dancefloor, it was perfect. Also loved jaia and reefer decree (who I listened to from a distance hehe).

Have to agree that the main stage is a bit poo. And the last night just sucked musically over there. Antaro just played 3 hours of cheesy samples and build-ups, nothing psychedelic about it for me (pretty lasers though). For me there is only one stage at voov.

Didn't sort out meeting anyone from psynews (expcept koolaid - nice to meet you dude). Jamez23 had a looksie at the meeintg point thingy to see whether there was any plans to catch up but couldnt see anything. Did we miss anything? Did you guys sort it out????

Hope everyone else had a good a time as me :D Hope to see some of you folks there next year. Unfortunately I haven't got any pics, as when I tried to use my camera I had a moment of 'specialness' and couldn't get it to work. I have some pics on their way from my friend, I'll post them as soon as I get copies.

    Mwah. Over and out.

  3. http://weather.yahoo.com/forecast/GMXX5399.html

Unfortunately yahoo weather is being geigh, and i certainly won't be accepting rain as the weather forecast for one of the worlds best psy-festivals!! Oh well it can rain during astrix's set heeheee, I shall be hiding away during that :P

    That's the spirit!!!

I'll pm you my mobile number w0p and krelm and hopefully get the chance to meet up! You too heva (you the same heva from psy-forum?),

Yesh tis I of psy-forum! Looking forward to meeting some psynewser's over there. I think someone said before, first one to put up a note at the meeting point can suggest an area (or meet at the meeting point during astrix heheh, not missing much then eh)

  4. well, Antix- Hiding Place off of Twin Coast Discovery is one....

    292007

I was really looking forward to the new antix album, then someone told me it was ridden with vocals, and so I didn't buy it, knowing that I'd hate it....just doesn't work for me.

  5. OD, just for you, here's an update on what alcohol you can take into the Glade:

From the Glade organisers on their forum:

    Howdy,

We have finally got word on the permissable alcohol take ins to the festival.

You will be allowed to bring alcohol into the arena when you arrive from all day Thursday AND up until 12 pm Midday on Friday, when the festival begins and the alcohol license starts.

AFTER MIDDAY FRIDAY NO PERSONAL ALCOHOL CAN BE BROUGHT INTO THE ARENA - THERE WILL BE SECURITY SEARCHES.

There is a limit to what each individual can bring in on the thurs / upto friday midday as follows.

16 cans of beer / cider or plastic bottle equivalent (ie approx 7 Litres)

1 bottle of spirits, decanted into a plastic bottle

2 bottles of wine decanted into plastic bottles.

Security will exercise discretion - ie somebody with a 5L wine wine box but no beer will be alright, for example - PLEASE USE YOUR COMMON SENSE and dont bombard us with questions about this.

NO ALCOHOL CAN BE BROUGHT INTO THE ARENA AFTER MIDDAY FRIDAY.

We realise that this is not ideal, but it is the best we have been able to negotiate and at least means people can have a decent drink on thursday night when the bars are not open / have a stash of beer for the festival.

We realise that it is hard on people arriving after the friday 12pm curfew, but thats the cut off point.

Please understand it has not been easy to get this concession.

    Cheers,

  6. seriously? they search you. that sucks. oh well ill have to buy booze there then. or smuggle vodka in shampoo bottles.

Surely vodka in water bottles! Then you won't be foaming at the mouth when you have that nice vodka and whatever with a twist of shampoo.

Rumour on the street is that the organisers are trying to let each attendee have a personal allowance of alcohol, so that each person can at least take some in. I suspect all this is something to do with their license. Hence the strictness of it all.

and the dinner tray is for "a flat surface to cut on"  ;)  i wont be dining anytime that weekend.

    284913

AAAAAAAAaaaaaaaaaaaah I see! I was wondering, I imagined you and your GF sitting there eating your dinner off trays in the middle of the dancefloor. Hehehe.

  7. *is still ignoring all threads refering to Glade*

However if it were another festy you were asking about, I would suggest the following:

    Jagermeister

    Deckchair

    Flip Flops

Citronella oil (to put off those midges)

Man do you take a dinner tray to festivals??? Hehe dine in stylee!!

I know one thing that's a gripe with this festy is that you can't take your own booze in and they search you at the gates (I think they sell Carlsberg in there). And it's no glass bottles as well. So you might want to take alcohol in plastic bottles hidden in the bottom of your bag or something? Or gaffa tape one of those plastic water carriers to your belly hehehe. Mwah.

    Enjoy OD :)

I'm not jealous la la ala la lal a *spins in chair*

  8. Quick! Quiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiick! There's a few more tickets on sale on the glade website here

    quiiiiiiiiiiiiiiick!!!

(Not for me though, I'm too poor, and I'm resisting the temptation to buy a few on the old credit card and sell them for some really over-inflated price mwah)

  9. For anyone in the UK at the moment I heartily recommend that you get yourselves to this partay this weekend. For me it has been the highlight of my English outdoor party adventures for the last few years. THese guys know how to put on a nice little gathering. Last year was amazing.

    Here's the flyer:

And here is a pic from last year (which to be honest doesn't do the site justice but it's the only one I have on here):

I don't have any more info at the mo, but if anyone is interested then PM me and I will keep you posted.

  10. Well for me it has to be outdoors!! I think a combination of a few of the options would be my ideal location. I think the best location I ever went to was a party in NSW in Australia....We partied all night in this forest, complete lushness. In the morning I went for a stroll and I didn't realise but we were right nest to a beach. It was turquoise waters and white sand....amazingly beautiful I was in complete awe all morning, went swimming in the sea and saw dolphins. It was a very special experience, in one of the most beautiful places ever. aaah memories :D

I have to say also, you can't beat a good english woodland, perfect :)

    *waffle waffle*

  11. Cool, I'm not too late :D

Definately by far my fave album for 2004 was Freq - Strange Attractors. I absolutely love this album, never fails to bring a huge smile to my face. Perfect.

Also love the Vatos Locos - Attack and Release album. Very very good I reckon. Another album I don't seem to tire of.

About the Abakus album - I love most releases on Liquid Sound Design, and I bought this album expecting great things. LIke others have said, it's ok, but nothing outstandingly special. There is one track which I absolutely hate, it reminds me of shopping in a furniture shop, elevator music stylee. Can't remember which track off the top of my head (think its around track 3 ish), but it kind of ruins it for me a bit. Mwaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah.
