Apologies if this is a redundant topic. I did a brief search and didn't see one matching. Feel free to point me to it and delete this one if necessary.
Essentially, the mastering of a track is essential and mastering has changed much over the years. Some artists have remastered parts of their back catalog, others had different masterings for different releases (12", cd comp, cd album) and these can vary in sound. I know Matsuri has even released comps with two different masterings on the same compilation to provide different sonic experiences and help match those tracks to others when mixing. This seems to be more of an issue with older tracks and vinyl releases than most modern releases.
I thought it might be nice to kinda have a place to capture this info and ask questions. Maybe there's a track you like but it sounds kinda weak on the release you have but on a different comp/source it sounds more full.
Then again, maybe this thread is stupid and pointless.
Fuck a global pandemic...

I work for Aging and Disability services and we're restricted from visiting the majority of our clients. Shit's weird AF in my office/community right now.

How y'all doing with the COVID and quarantine stuff?
Any local news worth sharing?

can't this also apply to goa?
we can learn to stop overthinking and worrying and accept goa for what it is. there's something for everyone. you either get it or you don't.
some times a song will make me queasy, other times that same song will hit just the right spot.
100%
I really appreciate diverse line-ups of music which allow me time to sleep and eat. Time to socialize and read in addition to the time to dance and find transcendence...

My connection with any/all music ebbs and flows.
I can get into streams wherein I only listen to audio books or podcasts and every single piece of music I put on, I have to change or stop in a minute. My brain just doesn't click. Then I get into patterns of a variety of music n tempos. Other times I can't get enough 303s and want all of the acid. Some sprints will be everything!
I used to get weirded out by this. WHAT DOES IT MEAN? DO I NOT FEEL THE SPIRIT OF GOA ANYMORE? lololololololol
I learned to stop overthinking and worrying and accepted who I am for me.I do notice that, as I've consumed SOOOOOOOOOOOO much music in my life, and now there is such a bounty of tracks being released, it takes a certain level of crate digging to find new music that moves me. I think this slows down my purchases and collection growth, as I just don't have the time/energy to do the digging; but that's okay.
I came into this music in the mid-90s when I was 16 and going through puberty and coming into consciousness. It was the soundtrack and backing pulse to so many of my life's growth moments and periods of change. The music began to branch into new sub-genres and new collectives formed. There is zero way for me to re-experience or recapture the magic that once was, but that's like wanting to recapture your virginity.
Appreciate the gems you find, move on from the busted rocks, and the world will be right...

It's about $1k to fly into Athens but it's like an 18hr drive from there. Would it be better to fly in closer and connect from there? I suppose that's not too bad of a drive. I'm really considering it...

Nick Taylor! Brought him out for a festival in 2005. Would love to hear him again. I'm very tempted in figuring out Romania and coming out to Aspara for this =)

I was wondering if you were still doing this. Felt like ages without an update.
Interchill is a very legit label. Low key and always on point.
Good stuff indeed... +1 -
I finally got to witness the great S.U.N. Project live at ZNA Gathering and it was everything 16 year old me had hoped for when I was first listening to them in the 90s.
Perfect sunny afternoon music.
