i'm saying that to make sure nobody's going to think i'm disagreeing with trishula's post because i don't like the label (people tend to take things rather personal you know )
-
i respect psyfactor as an artist
i find his style a bit hard to get into because of the heavy basslines, but he has a unique style and i respect him for that - i also think his tune on timeless flash is one of the best darkpsy tracks ever
i also tend to like darkpsy's releases, his tracks on run motherfucker run and on theta frequencies kick ass
i haven't bought his album (yet) because the samples i've heard so far indeed do sound boring
and just to make sure, i also respect trishula a great deal for releasing innovative, high quality music
that said, i think psyfactor's posts in here were way out of line, and it's unfair to claim people have been disrespecting or insulting artists without taking a look at his own behaviour first

ghreg on earth - sigilweaver on # 1 for sure
followed by, in random order
derango - tumult
manifold - x-ray attraction
va - run motherfucker run
va - crazy goblins and wicked pixies
para halu - world of peace
va - apsara
va - hammering the gates of soul
droidlock - elefantronica
megalopsy - the abstract machine
-
just listening at this album again, and i really feel this one of the most underrated releases of this year
the production-quality is outstanding, and tunes like "christmas" and "the wolf" radiate a glowing atmosphere with deeply melancholic melodies and a warm basslines

where's the poll?

samadhi - organic brain in cosmos

"all-time-favourite-artist" is singular lars, it implies you only mention one guy and not that laundry list of yours

what does it matter? kindzadza is still kindzadza even if you call "ploppytechno" rather "darkpsy"
it's just a term...

you might wanna check braincell - universal language for atypical melodic stuff
-
psyside - turbulences and va - nocturne arrived in my mailbox today (2nd hand purchases)

her face is not even symmetrical

agh, come on man, you should at least pick a girl that's actually pretty to ask the number of

not sure what to think of it, some sort of a mix of rofl and recoiling in horror, i guess
i'm not too big on the traditional plur/fluo/spiritual/hippie aspect of the scene but i can't say i like the consumate air of this either
i'm starting to understand why fungus funk has been releasing such crap of the late though
-
actually, i like the cover of va - refused

megalopsy - pachamama

true I have written over 50 reviews in my life and every word I say is bullshit
word!
i think i've more or less written about a dozen as well, and i feel the exact same way about it
"talking about music is like dancing to architecture"
-
i don't trust any of them, because tastes differ
when i read a review i check for descriptions, melodic, minimal, rough, subtle etc, so the best reviews are those which manage to describe the music best, rather telling me whether it's good or bad

i'm only 9 minutes late
297 copies, 800€ loss
-
i've only listen once or twice at it from start to end, but i feel somewhat underwhelmed about this disc: it seems to feature a lot of macho-snares and wild breakz, but much less in the way of trippy noises and atmosphere
one tune that stuck out so far was that of phatmatix, made me listen at it a couple of times in a row
doesn't seem bad release, just a little unimaginative
ps: i don't mind 160 bpm at all though
-
my vote goes to ghreg on earth as well, and i doubt any other release could make change my mind

Worst albums of the year 2005!
in General Psytrance

releases i've bought and that were disappointing: probably silent sphere's follow-up album, which is very bland and uninspirational compared to their debut
releases i didn't buy and listened to bits of: wrecked machines' follow up, which didn't seem to have any of the debut's subtility, and damage was also disappointing compared to his previous releases
thinking of it, i think i sort of stopped bothering with fullon after those
